I didn't put up a lot of my decorations this year:( My faves are the Xmas tree and my little Xmas tree...I also love the pug tree MIL got me a few yrs ago:)

So I had this brainstorm last night at about 11, so stayed up until 3 to work on it. So I am now running behind schedual, geesh mise well not have a one, just go with the flow!

Last load of laundry today, Then I will begin to pack! 3more days to travel.

Well, best grab another cup of coffe and get going...

I guess because DH isn't into it with the Griswolds across the street and we spend all our time in the basement, so I didn't unpack everything that I ususally do...next year will be a different story...and I guess partially because I have been feeling kind of down...

For some reason, a lot of us have been feeling blue, but I guess it is just that time of year. A lot of things happen in our lives, that affect how we feel at the holiday seasons, but please remember, that I thank all of you here for the kind friendships, and generosity you have all shown. . And even though I can't literally give you a hug, please know that you are all loved, and I thank you all for the very kind friendship, I have found here on Dave's.

Yes, and I want it now, now , now! I love it and the one you made for your Mom is beautiful too. While I want you out of the dumps you have been in, you are making beautiful crafts as a result.
I told Craig that next year would be different. If I am not down your way I will be well on the way to it. So we can decorate together.

What a fight to get out of my driveway this morning!!! Once out on the street the driving wasn't bad, the traffic was light. Meetings were all canceled, we canceled class tonight, I have gotten all the groceries and meds picked up for the neighbor ladies so now I can settle in get warm and relax for a few.

I wish I could have gotten a picture a few minutes ago....there was a humming bird out at one of my feeders.....what a sight against all that white!! Feeders are all filled, but I don't think there will be any baths today!

Hello there...sure has been a busy day here, decided to go into town to pick up a few things, was clear hear and by the time I got into Midland it was storming...

Didn't get all done I had hoped to get done, wanted ceramic tile for the bathroom, went to 3 tile places and did not find what I want...did want supplies for next week.. find it so difficult New Years Eve and New Years Day that if I take a project and work from morning till night I don't have a lot of time to think and it gets me through..yep, many of us are 'blue' some can't quite explain why, some know why..hard time for sure, so we'll all hold each others hands...

So perhaps on the weekend I'll take a trip to Toronto to the tile distributors, money I'd spend on gas I'd save on the tile...then it's been 3 times I go to 'The Brick' furniture store, at the farm I had a coffee table where the top lifts up to create a table in front of the couch..it was $599. on sale for $350....tried to get it cheaper but no, so walked out and didn't buy...did same today but on my way home me and Cedric are having a talk, for a person who goes all out and spends mega $$$ for gifts for family and friends why wouldn't I spend the same on me that I spent on each and everyone else...Cedric said turn that car around which I did and they will deliver it here tomorrow...it wasn't even my money..lol..remember the $$$ I got last Sunday at my Christmas, it more than paid for it...also they had a smaller little side table I was eyeing but said no because of the size...

Janice, love your fireplace decorated.....takes so much energy when you aren't entirely up to Christmas to decorate but once it's up the feeling of excitement and warmth within makes it worthwhile..

This place looks like a Christmas shop, but I love going through the rooms, looking at my treasures..many of which I've made (painted) and others gifts from friends/family and I feel good...can't believe the years I gave all my things away and/or didn't put out what I had...didn't help anyone, didn't bring loved ones back just made it more obvious that they were not with me...just sitting here I can see some beautiful pieces...tonight I might even get the energy to basecoat the tray that Diane brought me to paint for myself...know once I get that lift coffee table I'll be sitting painting, looking outside and enjoying...

Love my family room, workshop/studio when people are here with me, when alone I feel confined...so it's exciting for sure...

Darlene called to say she was having about 10 couples at her house Christmas Eve and would I come..guess that is the hardest thing to do, although all are friends and not one would make me feel unwelcome or out of place, I put that on myself...will try my very best to go but it will take a lot of convincing...should have done something here then I'd be in my own element...

Stacey think you are not up to it because of not feeling well for the past several weeks and as Judy said, the job...you will be with family Christmas Day though won't you???? How about you Janice, will you be travelling...

Can feel the temps falling rapidly, just put the fireplace on both downstairs and upstairs as well as the furnace...was going to go to Toronto tomorrow but think I'll call Diane and cancel as they are calling for yet more snow...

Trisha, that's a lot of snow also isn't it? they were saying on the newscast this aft. that it's the first time since the mid 1970's that Canada from east to west is completely covered in snow...listening to the news I think that many of you are having same...just be careful, stay safe..just enjoy being inside...good Lord what are hummers doing in this weather...

Kyle and Noah were here this afternoon playing with Bailey and Cedric...they decided to burn all the Christmas boxes and Kyle snowblowed the entire drive and walkways and then took the snow from the backyard shed...saves me getting cold...anyway Noah ran in and said there were swans (????) flying..I do know we have many at Wye Marsh..I said I thought maybe they were Canada Geese but he said no they were white..so, now I have some checking to do...

Janice meant to ask if you knitted the sock?
Won't it be fun when you and Stacey are closer to each other...I could tell when in Frankenmuth that you both so enjoyed each others' company...

The little hummer must be really hungry after all the freezing and snow the past few days, he has been at the feeder 4 or 5 times in the past hour!

Nope-just Chris and I, but my mom will be here for 4 days riught after which I am soooooo excited for-we are very close-she was a single mom and I an only child, so we have always been very close......and yes, it will be nice when mom moves closer:)

Stacey, fight those blues away, wait until it stops snowing, get yourself clippers, go cut greenery, wet oasis at the $$$ store and make yourself some floral arrangements, that alone will spruce up the house...is you do not want real flowers within, dollar store or perhaps you have some poinsettia's, plug in a few and voila..instant decorations...even the aroma of greenery will put you in the spirit..

Carol, I purchased new batteries when I was in town the other day, took so many photo's they needed recharging...then I found 2 more rechargeables in the battery jar I keep so put the 2 just found, 2 I had been using in the charger..green light said 'charged' but each time I took 2 and put them into the camera they wouldn't work..finally I put the new ones in after charging for an hour and everything was ok...I do have another good camera, just lost the download cord..going to stop into a camera place to see if just the cord can be replaced..

Trisha I had almost the same coffee table when I left the farmhouse..it stayed there..always missed it..yep, that Cedric has a way with women, got me to turn around real quick...lol..

OMG on MSN with Sharon, what a life that girl lives...she said Rhonda her daughter that she found out last week was pregnant..just turning 16 ran away again last night..think I'd leave her fend for herself over Christmas, see what it's like..her phychologist wants to see her as soon as they get her back home...

No, I didn't make the stocking. It was my Stockign Swap from TexasLizzy. She made it and put my name on both sides of it.
I am home by myself on Christmas, by choice. the weather is so bad that I don't want to drive and I have refused to let the boys come and get me since they are several hours away. Looking forward to a quiet time just me and my dog. She LOVES it. Has me all to herself.
Hope Cedric is as honest with me as he has been with you. Just gave you a talking to didn't he? Looking forward to seeing him visit although my house will be chill time as compared to all the fun he has had a the first three places. We don't do much, dog and I, but we will try and show himthe sites.

He'll love visiting with you for New Years...I won't be able to post him because of the Holidays until Sat. morning so he won't officially leave here until Monday..I'll make travel plans for them the quickest that I can, do hope he doesn't stay in post office over the New Year...

He wasn't tired, thought we should do a craft..lol..so I agreed as long as it would be one that takes but a few seconds so we decided to make a luminary for the table and if by chance it freezes quickly enough, we'll make another tomorrow and tomorrow night for the outdoor entrance...

Never thought, here I am looking for freezer space, probably colder outside than in the freezer...

I know it is cold enough here right now! Things melted a bit today and now it is supposed to be in the 20's tonight.....is going to be horrible for all on the road tonight....have already had one rollover.

Had to deliver a repair to the shop just before dark....a car broken down in the left south bound lane. I'm in the right....cars sliding on the ice and snow. No lights on the disabled car, as we get closer...no driver in the car.........when we passed it, the driver is on a tarp on the ground in front of the car trying to work on it!!!! He is lucky he hasn't been killed....I called the police to go and save him from himself and others!
This is in the middle of one of the major streets in town just as everyone is on the way home from work!!!
I've not done a lot of decorating this year...outside lights....inside the tree, the pointsettia garland on the mantle, a few small table top decorations and of course my Santa's....and now I have the lovely Candles and holders Stacey sent me from the Secret Santa Game! They smell sooo good!

OMG is that man insane..you very well could have saved his life...oh the candle is just so pretty..Stacey has spent a lot of time making 'treasures'...before you know it I'll be having a hard time keeping up with her! lol

So quiet this time of night, tossed/turned for about an hour, tummy churning, feel of nausea..am sure I'm not coming down with anything just not feeling 100% so opted for hot chocolate and maybe do some cleaning upstairs then downstairs when I finish a few of my projects..the 'furries' all came downstairs with me, guess they are confused by my routine..

Off to make myself useful...

Betty, getting sick at Christmas is not allowed. I hope it is something you ate, and will run its course in no time! A cup of hot peppermint tea, will settle your tummy also.

My goodness, if it's sickness my house is sure appreciating it..by 8am I had 2 loads of wash done, floors vacuumed and steam mopped, worked on a couple of projects, dusted, scoured my zinc, went through the cupboard and as it's garbage day threw out all outdated bottles and boxes then thought I'd take a nap, telephone rang, Suzanne wanted to know if I'd hem her pants..just finished that...the Brick called to say they'd be here between 11 and 2..need to go to town, tummy still yukky, think it's the time of year and emotions are close to the surface..around 1:00 I woke up, mind started travelling so thought it was best to get active..certainly helped..

I've got greenery outside in the snow, must dust of snow, pick up more flowers and get the last 3 done..am hoping I have enough flowers to do the one that goes to Midland so that if I go in to pick up other incidentals that I can deliver it at same time...cleaning in craft room and re-organizing will only get done once these projects are complete...

Back to occupy myself..

Linda Kay, must put candy canes down so I can crunch them up for my hot chocolate..that seems soothing as well...

Can tell everyone is busy with last minute shopping/baking/family and friends...do hope weather is cooperating for you to get around safely..biggest fear is blizzard Christmas Day..makes it so difficult for families...

Guess I won't have a coffee table upstairs after all..nope, too big as far as I'm concerned..would match the heavy furniture in the rec.room...

Disappointed...who knows, maybe it will grow on me or in this case lesson it's size...

Knew it was bigger and higher than my last one but thought it would be o.k. NOT....

makes a nice work and eating surface though when working and eating..

Will stay upstairs at least for Christmas holidays..heck birthday is only about 8 or 9 weeks away...could always get a smaller one...lol

Santa and Mrs. Claus just left..we had a lovely visit..too bad there is a blizzard going on, now how can you tell from this photo..

I'm tucked in here safe and sound..no driving to kids for Christmas in this stuff. I have everything I need. last night I watched Christmas movies and drank hot chocolate with Godiva white chocolate liquior in it. Yummy good!
The dog loves it. She begs to go out the front door and play in the snow making doggie snow angels, then comes in and wants to be on the couch with her head on my knee. She thinks that winter and my vacation are just what the doctor ordered.
Friends have been keeping in touch by phone and e-mail and all seems to be ready for Christmas. Expecting rain today but should be clear tomorrow for others to travel.

I haven't been around in a while, Dave has had an extremely bad cold the past 2 weeks, finally went to the dr and it's Walking Pneumonia. I've caught a cold the past 2 days so I'm treating it with every kind of over the counter medicine you can think of, plus I have a prescription Advair and prescription asthma inhaler, so hopefully mine won't get that bad and his medicine will work so he won't have to go get more.

Betty that looks like my coffee table, they are big but neat when you need a table! You have yours turned around, I like that better, but we can't have it that close to the couch because it reclines.

You're nuts standing outside to take pictures while a blizzard is going on LOL! Very pretty, the snow adds to the feeling of it. Look at the size of those snowflakes! It's snowing snowballs!

We're sickly around here, Dave has Walking Pneumonia, he went to the dr yesterday and they loaded him up with antibiotics and steroids so hopefully by the end of the week he'll be better, and I'm catching a cold, mainly in my throat, so I'm not feeling my best either. Our weather has been 32 and colder for a couple of days, then up into the high 50's for a couple of days, then back down to freezing so there is a lot of bugs going around here. Drove to work on patchy ice yesterday morning, boy that was a mess, over 200 wrecks on the interstates just around Little Rock. It was very scary for me.
