Well Phyllis-I was going to yell at you for opening your Xmas pressie early, but since you are already in tears I can't yell at you......

Cindy-I would be upset, but not mad-you said it was your sister in law, so that means it was his sister....she has had a grieving process too and maybe this is her little way of remembering him over the holidays-I don't think it was meant to be harmful-truly....

I GOT 3 BOXES TODAY!!!!!

I got one from Auntie Cookie-nothing said not to open it so I did, but wish I woulda waited...it was an Xmas present:)

Yahoo, BJ...

Awe, so sweet, bus and school ornements/ Very cute.
Um, yep same suggestion as..Cindy.
Might have too much dust in the chamber..might have disassemble the babbin case to get debris out.
(did you sew fur on Santas?) might be the cause.

So sorry on the quilt...yep calm then address the situation.

Jaye, your so cute, no kids don't ask anymore on what they can bring...LOL, they bring whatever they want...Being old enough to pack theire own stuff they have to also make sure it comes home with them as well...I always make a last look see too. Also, A give them a rundown, how many days what the weather is suppose to be etc...Then as we load up, I ask the do you have questions...LOL, most of the time we run a time...

My stuff is just about together, Elf hat on top.

Glenview, IL

Oh Cindy...
I'm sorry you were upset, thinking maybe it was quite the shock, but I agree with Stacey not meant to be harmful...
...maybe she could have warned you in some way.
Probrably just meaning to keep the happy memories going.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yes, you are right. She did email me back saying that they always make sure they include him in their celebrations. I have not celebrated with them at all since he died. But I still don't like it. And yes a little warning would have nice.

I love that red fairy.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

I love the school bus Stacey sent to you. That is so cute.
Stay warm everyone.

Evening all.. It looks like we survived the day..

Max made a few phone calls then went in and started pounding nails and working in the bathroom.. Hes taking all this with a much calmer approach than I anticipated but he says we need to move faster than planned and get them out now.. So here we go and working at it as always..

Love the pink fairy she is very pretty..

BJ I tackled the mailman and found my package today.. I also resisted the temptation (for now) to peek at Tony & Tristens packagesbut they will be placed under the tree with your name attatched.. They know there are presents from all my garden buddies under the tree.. Its what they havent seen yet that wil surprise them..LOL Wrapped and hidden..

Going to make cookies tomorrow.. Definately.. Need cookies

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, dear Donna... you definitely need cookies.
So glad you got the box... took long enough, huh? It's rediculous... took 10 days to get there priority... wonder what it would have taken if it had gone regular mail.

Hmmm... Phyllis... I hope they can get it fixed in time... don't you hate it when you wait till last minute, then everything goes wrong?

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Night Sistahs, tomorrow is a new day....may it be bright for all.

Didn't get much done today....a few trips down town took much time due to the ice.....Groceries and med for the ladies.....most of the time at home spent trying to get the drive shoveled out so that should we need to go out tomorrow it won't be so time consuming. A lot of the stuff on the road melted down but it is beginning to freeze again....already several accidents on the scanner.

I cannot believe the lack of brain cells in some people !!!!! We had to go down to the shop about four, starting to get towards dusk. Our main street is four lanes, two each way...lots of snow and choppy ice, cars sliding around a bit. This idiot had his car quit on him in the left lane we come up in back of his car (we are in the right lane) hmmm a car with no lights......hmmm no driver..........as we pass the car there is a tarp on the ground in front of the car, this idiot is laying on the tarp in the middle of the busiest street in town trying to work on his car in the ice and snow!!!! I hope he survived, I called 911 to get him out of the road!!!!

Cliff Dweller, WA(Zone 8b)

Ok.. I just spent 5 min trying to find this thread...lol I have to go cook dinner, but wanted to say hello.

I tend to hang out in the sewing area, but I just discovered sometime back that Tater55 had extended a very nice invitation for me to come in and say hi...

Hello... and I have to bail off. How's that for rude...lol I left a big fat post somewhere back in your maze of posts...lol Kind of fun finding you.. .like playing the Amazing Race.. only on line...lol

Night night...

This is Highmtn's original first post..
Hello,

I feel rude, and would like to start off with an apology to Tater55. I was looking back over a thread tonight trying to find a photo, and I realized she had extended an invitation back in early Dec. to come and say Hi in here. I completely missed it! Bad me...bad me. :(

Tater55
Thank you for the invite from the sewing threads many moons ago. I was in the Christmas race to finish 3 quilt projects and get them mailed out in time for Christmas and I completely MISSED your comment to come say hi to this group of ladies. THANK YOU... If I may...I'll plead menopause over rudeness. ..lol

Hmmmmmm...I guess I'll quickly introduce me. My name is Felicia (I'm a quilter) and it's been 5 days since I touched my sewing machine...LOLOL OOPS... wrong chat thread. hehe My name really is Felicia... and I'm a Gemini, 56 years old. I have two grown kids, and one heart-melting little grandson who's the apple of my eye (like all grand babies are to alllll grammies!) I'm a long time chatter, and have morphed through a few online chat groups over the years (I can't STAND arguing about religion and politics... it drives me nuts). I don't mind an occasional tongue in cheek zinger, but when people get nasty... I disappear. I've finally (happily) settled into Daves G (several years ago), Block Central (a quilt club), and one other blog/chat a friend of mine set up for a small circle of long time friends. I was also a good friend of Ned Hudson's who passed away just before Thanksgiving. He has a memory garden thread here in DG. He was such a GRAND GUY and I still can't believe he's gone.

I work p/t in a cancer center as a Patient Navigator. We find funding for low income people during treatment. It's a heartbreaking job, but also a very rewarding job. I'm a hardcore crafter...lol However...once I took up quilting everything else went by the wayside.

I love ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL! I even make sure the garden snakes are herded off the lawn in the summer before we mow! I am down to one MOOSE of a dog named Yanna (aka Awful Kanaffle). She's mellowed in her old age, but in her youth could have run Marley (from the book Marley and Me) a close second. However, I'm not a purist... if a spider or yellow jacket dares to cross my threshold...it's squished. I respect them out in the yard...but not in the house. *shuddering*

Well...that's enough for now... dinner calls. I see another hyperlink.. so we do we play a lot of cyber "leapfrog" in here?...lol

I'll try to pop in and visit, but I'm so bad to get side tracked and wander off. I'm not a snob.. .I'm just DITSY at home...lol

I'm the woman those hilarious internet jokes are made from. You know...the menopausal lady who went to the kitchen to get a drink and noticed the light bulb out over the sink...then when I went to get the ladder (to change the bulb) I spotted a pot in the garage I had been look for...so then.. I went to find the plant I wanted to re pot...but saw some blooms that I wanted to cut for a bouquet... so I went into the house to get some pruners and noticed some dishes I wanted to put in the dishwasher... but...it was dim in the kitchen because the light over the sink was out.. so.. I went to the garage to get the ladder ...and I spotted a scared little bird stuck in the window...and sew on and sew on and sew on...lolol

I'll try to leave a crumb trail so I can find my way back...

Night All!! poof*

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Welcome Felicia. Nice to see you here. We have several sewers, and quilters here, as well as all kinds of crafter's. Feel free to pop in when you get the chance, and tell us what kind of garden you have, what kind of quilting you have done... And don't forget the pictures. We like the visuals!

Coushatta, LA

CBL i hope your aunt will be ok.Yes i'm ready for Christmas so i can watch me son enjoy himself.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks Cody, and thanks for the pics! You got a very handsome young man there.

Evening sistahs..

Donna, tell Max we'll be praying for the twins. His girls should be moved into a safe environment and with responsible adults they can trust. Hope you find positive help.

Trisha, your human compassion made you call 911, but I bet your true self wanted to shout out to that idiot...are you sure the guy is not frozen to the ground!! Unfortunately idiots are plenty.....

Phyllis, your throat plate might be nicked too. That can cause your thread to be acting up. BUT get that Bernina, if you can afford it!! I think that's what I want for 2009 Christmas and that Gammill.

Alright BJ! Let us know if you want us to throw a sewing party too in May! Maybe he'd get one of those heavy duty machines that can sew sail cloth or heavy canvas. You go Don.. and after you give her that machine, please send her a 'seamstress' helper too ;)

Stacey, you know we love you TOO much!!!! Your aunties are spoiling you rotten!!!! BTW, look out for something from eBay :D

Welcome Felicia. Yah, we move very fast here.. only way to find the current thread is to log on to General Discussion & Chat forum. It's at least every other day a new room is made. But you can chat on any topic here allowed by DG admin :D

Sleep well LK.. I hope you're through with all your Christmas wrappings. Thank God you don't need feet to wrap them!!

Hello Lisa.. I'll add your great aunt to the list. I've been ready for Christmas since Easter!!! But there are always the unexpecteds that threw curve balls!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Ooops.... sorry, BJ, can you edit and add the twins and Lisa's great aunt to the prayer list?
Thanks!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Lisa, Sending thoughts and prayers your way for your Aunt, and big (((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) for you!.
Glad to hear your ready for Christmas. I think most of are as ready as we are going to get. Some are still baking, but for the most part done with shopping!
Take care
Linda

Well I don't know how cold where Tina's at (MB), cause she's getting the warm ocean air.
The temps here dropped from the 60's to the 20's all of a sudden. Pretty sure it will be in the teens later.
So sorry sistahs who are facing snow, ice... danger's all around you. Please stay warm and indoors, if you can.

Coushatta, LA

Thanks Jaye.......

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Just a few more things to get done........we are having our Christmas Wednesday morning so Laura, Sean and Sage can leave for Port Angeles to have Christmas with Sean's family, weather permitting. Good nite ladies..................

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Tina, Azteca is a Mexican restaurant, the real deal, unlike Garcia. Then there's El Patio, another super restaurant. We like the Sunday buffet at the Conway branch. Love the seafood soup.

Trisha, looks like you all are continuing the Christmas day tradition. I do hope the weather eases up some, and you won't have unpleasant encounters with idiots on the road.

Good night Cody.
I'll try to spend more time with my sistahs here tomorrow.. miss y'all! Off to bed..hope your day off has been a restful one Tina.

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

Nite Girls.

Bedford, VA(Zone 7a)

Phyllis, Don't get the machines at Wally World if you use your machine a lot! I have a very old (35 years?) Kenmore and it sews like a dream. But, wanting something lightweight to take to Quilting classes, I bought an inexpensive one from WW. It has been nothting but trouble. Some days it will sew a stragith seam with no problmes, then the next day it's as if the devil is in it and I get loops and tight stitches, even though I am still sewing the same fabric.

I am seriously thinking of major upgrading to a comuterized but am still fact gathering on that, not sure what I really want/need.

And a Good Morning! to all, sorry - had to get the above off my chest first, whew!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning All,

Talking sewing machines again. I have an White that was my grandmothers that she got from Montgomery Wards years ago. It's the machine I learned to sew on. I haven't used it in a long time needs some TLC. I also have a New Home Memory Craft 7500, I bought for myselft about 14 years ago. I never knew that it never needs oiling, isn't that strange?

Sometimes I can be a real DUNCE, lol. Last Christmas Rick bought me Kitchen Aid, all this time I've bee using it and thinking there's got to be an easier way to add flour to the creamy mixer while the machine is still on. I would always shut it off, lift the arn then add the flour. Well last night I made him straighten upa cupboard that he made a mess out of when he was making his fudge. he pulls this plastic thing out asks me "Don't you ever use this" "No, what is it?" he then places it on the mixer bowls and says it's for adding things to the bowl when the mixer is on.OMG how stupid of me, lol. I tgought Rick was going to bust a stitch laughing so hard.

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Morning everyone...

All this talk about sewing machines...lol I dont even know what mine is... Grin :)

Cindy you are so lucky I love those KitchenAid Mixers and keep saying I will have one someday.. Everything I do by hand now but boy would that make things easier..

Terri thanks for the advice on the WW machines.. I will keep it in mind when I get out to start looking

Welcome Cody!

Jaye thanks for adding the twins for prayers. We will be diligently working towards getting them out but it will take some time.. Will be interesting to see how far we can get without a lawyer.. Im looking into laws an regulatios in ohio to see what we can do and waiting to hear from the detective.. With the holiday it may take a bit to get any answers..
