Morgantown, WV(Zone 6a)

I never fit just right........good thing yall dont care too much about titles. I am too young to be in one group and have half grown kids that are too old to put me in the other group!!

I will hang with yall and answer to whatever ya call me!! :)

I have almost drank an entire pot of coffee by myself...........everyone is still sleeping.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Heather,
I saw the pix of your house in the other thread. It's a beautiful house. You have alot of land to work with. Have you gone to to like hgtv and other shows to enter for a free landscape makeover? It's worth a try.

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

Here's a question for all of you artists- How would you embelish Margarita glasses if you could not paint???

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Heather, didn't we warn you that you'd be addicted to DG!! You'll find so much info here, even info you never thought you'd need :D
Best part is, you could jump on any thread, ask any questions and you'd get help. Unless you post them in the wee hours of the morning.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Tina, drawing a sombrero or a cactus is real e-z.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

You could do rub-ons, wire and beads, etching, stencils....

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Tina, post a pix of you glass. Will get you more ideas...... polymer clay, like BJ does
I have some that I'm going to make candles in with Margarita fragrance. Haven't smelt it yet, but that will be in my summer line.

Morgantown, WV(Zone 6a)

For the glasses.......what about a stencil with the paints......or parts of a stencil. Find one you like part of the pattern and just stencil that part...like a filigree or something.

I have been watching HGTV but havent applied for any contests.

I have been making drawings though. :)

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well, for years my mom told my daughter she was 39....then one day my daughter told her "Gramma you can't be 39 , that's how old my mommy is" lol

My brother and I are 6 years apart but my birthday is first May 27 his the 28th, and when he was little he could never figure out why if he was older why was my birthday first?

Then a few months befroe he was going to turn 50 we were talking about our birthdays and he said yep I'm going to be 49 this year, I said no you're not you're going to be 50! Oh man mom and I thought he was going to faint, he broke out in a sweat turn white as a sheet, and mom and I just busted out laughing.

Oops... posted in the wrong room... sorry.

Copied and pasted... because I was lost there for a minute.

Morning ladies... Darn... went to bed at 8:30 last night, fell asleep, woke up around midnight wide awake, then finally fell back to sleep about 4am... after Don left for the airport. So, I'm just now getting my butt up and around this morning.

I've not taken the time to catch up with all the posts lately, but I do notice that there's a lot of new sistahs here... WELCOME to all of you... and I hope to get to know all of you better really soon.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

BJ.. where are you... ideas BJ.. Tina needs help.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

I would give it to my folks when they get here to take down to southern Texas with them so when they go over into Mexico they could have one of the guys that sits there and paints stuff could paint it for me like this vase below...LOL
or I would go to hobby lobby and pick up the etching stuff and etch it if it or find a picture I like of a western theme and paint it on there myself LOL

Gooood morning Phyllis!
With Phyllis' entrance, that means it's time for me to get my gears going!!!
Looks like sewing is out of the question for now. We are supposed to have a family Christmas dinner at his Mum's. BIL and SIL are coming over from Charlotte. But before that, we'll be going to town to get a few stuffs..
So sistahs, have a fun day!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Bye Jaye

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm really not the one to ask about decorating glassware... unless you want to stick polymer clay to it somehow.
I'd keep it simple though... only because I just like the shape of martini glasses... pretty all on their own.

Betty's the one to ask about decorating glassware.

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

Thanks for your suggestions. Ya'll have a great day!!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

GOOD GRIEF IT'S HARD TO KEEP UP WITH THIS BUNCH!

Miss a day and a half and it takes a day and a half to read all the posts! LOL! No way to read everything so I know I'll miss some things.

Welcome, Heather! Nice family you have there. Sounds like you have a good sense of humor. I like that! Will admit I was excited to hear you taught serger classes as I recently purchased a serger and don't know how to use it. Haven't even taken it out of the box yet (no comments, Marion). Also have a new Husqvarna Viking Topaz 30 sewing/embroidery machine. Am barely learning to sew on it - haven't even tried the embroidery features yet (still no comments, Marion!). Maybe you can give us some online classes later in the year.

Speaking of sewing - I bought a few yards of Christmas fabric when Hancock's put it on sale for 50% off. This morning their website had it 70% off with no shipping or sales tax. Guess who bought an additional SIXTY-SIX yards? What am I going to do with it? Am thinking quilts.

Hello to everyone. Be careful out there. Gotta run. Not dressed and have to meet my DD at 11:15 for a family potluck at a cousin's house. Most haven't seen her since she was a kid. Wanted her to go with me since most will be invited to her wedding in March. They will be shocked to see her at 26 and all grown up!

BBL, Debra

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Bj, about time you got up!
Wish I could help with the glass decorating, but not my talent either!

Phyllis, I have been looking, and no one does that kind of painting here. You may have to go further south to find it?

LK

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Morning BJ-did you see my posts to you??

I would decorate the glasses w/ some glass paint, maybe a blue on the outside on the bottom, then maybe put a littel bead ring at the base of the stem....simple and easy peasey;)

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

my folks go down around mission area "the valley " I guess they call it and cross so I'll have to get some small vases to send with them.

gee guess that means maybe i should get out of my robe and go to town to pick up the few things I need today

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

Thanks Stacey that's a good idea. Simple too!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Debra, I won't say a word--maybe 2 or 3 but not just one!!! Heather what kind of serger do you have? I had a very old Baby Lock which I dearly loved (makes the best rolled hems) and a Bernina which I gave to my DIL (wish I hadn't now as the BL died). In the market for a new one but haven't found a BL dealer near where I live so that might be difficult. Actually I just lost the presser foot to the BL and have ordered several online but they don't fit!! So happy to know we have another sewer in the Sistah Hood!!!

Hummm, call you sister, niece or you, Tink and Laura are all in the daughter age group. Yeap, I am the old lady!!! Maybe old but do like my eye candy!! No comments Sistahs!!!

I too saw your house on the other thread. What a challenge with the sloping lot!!! Be sure to post what you are looking for on this thread as a lot of this group have wonderful plants and are so willing to share.

Cody, an apple orchard sounds like fun. Thank goodness you have help with planting the roses.

BJ I was lazy alsothis morning--got to reading some of my stack of magazines last night and before I realized it it was early morning. Now I need to go get busy.

Linda Kay, you and Jaye will be pleased to know there is a tree in a stand (with water so no one asks--LOL) in the family room. Had a little problem last night as a family of bees had taken up residence in it. They are gone now, flying freely in the great out doors.

Phyllis so good to see you posting now that you have some more time!! Love the vase you posted.

Tina of MB, a trip to Mexico. Humm when? Sounds like a plan to me--can provide an interrupter if you don't speak Spanish. Maybe a trip to Costa Rica? I am referring to my daughter, Kim, who is a Spanish teacher. Sistahs, keep your fingers crossed as she has applied for a scholarship to attend school in Costa Rica this summer. It is an all expense paid scholarship---did this once before but that time to Salamanca, Spain.

Laura, Trisha please be safe on the roads. We need you!!!!!

Tink, don't over do it today.

Those I missed I am sorry. Kim you are definitely being persude young lady!. Susan when you stick you head back out of the shell you will see me waving to you.

Kathy--check in!!!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

The Mom Song. This is Great!!! I would never be able to do anything like that, LOL

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMhuAtyFCrw

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well Marion, you could catch all those bees and string them together for garland!!! LOL

Now the tree needs decorations, and lights.... Patiently waiting for a picture of the decorated tree!

LK

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Okay, okay!! See Heather and Cody, no respect for their elders!!!! LOL

I am off now to decorate the tree is a chicken doesn't get in the way. Jaye will understand!!!

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Good morning, all! Sounds like everyone has a lot going on today. We have to get ready for a little Winter Solstice Celebration party we're having tomorrow, so I have several horsdeuvres to make and some cleaning to do... then off to the pool competition at the bar down the street! Have a fun day!

Brenda

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Gosh, it took me a loooong time to get to here! Kim, love your lamp! Ya think if I cleared off my furniture it would shine like yours?
So I missed coffee and Bailey's! Got any left? I'll take some with lunch!
I feel soooo much better today! Don't know what happened yesterday. I know I need to eat more veggies!I don't think turkey sandwiches and bagles and cream cheese and cereal is getting it! But it's sooo easy to make!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

The Mom Song is great! Wish I knew how to wend it to my dd. There's one on there about a little bitty kitty named Sparta, too that's cute!
