Stop and visit, talk all you want. pt 29

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh Monty will play in his cat scratcher! I bought one of those for Tiga and she looked at it like, "What is that?????" and walked away.

Oh Pepper, be careful! I'm glad you aren't hurt very bad also. Clutzyness is always funny after the fact

(Zone 7a)

i don't feel so bad, then. :-)

Monty and Isis didn't play with it for a few days. Now they can't stop.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

The really funny thing was watching Curly. He was so scared that he took off running and his legs were moving so fast they were a blur. He can moooove!! Whiskers tries but he's gotten so fat and lazy that he can't even jump hardly. LOL

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Whiskers prefers the window next to the door for scratching and presents. He knows if he scratches the presents that we will get mad. LOL. He loves to make us mad.

(Zone 7a)

Isis does it on purpose, too. LOL

I picked Monty up the other day in the kitchen. I looked up, saw the ceiling fan and just about teleported under the bed!!! Heven't seen him move that fast in AGES!!!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL!! Curly loves to watch the fan. His head will just go around and around. Then he sees the chains moving and he starts attacking those. He does it most when my dad holds him cause he's taller and can hold Culy up higher.

(Zone 7a)

Isis discovered the little ball under the scratcher. (the thingy Monty is under) Monty saw her playing with it and now he does this half gallop, half sideways lope thing and dives under it! He so big he pushes it up! He flipped it over yesterday.

I need to find some nice sized ones for the boys. The little ones don't last very long with my big cats. LOL

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Pepper - (snicker) I'm so glad you weren't seriously hurt (LOL) - sorry straight face now. I can't help it, but everytime I see someone fall I laugh LOL! I can't help it and it's so mean LOL!

Peanut has taken over the smaller cat toys. They're the only things that are small enough for her to play with :)

Monty is healthy like Sylvester!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL. I'm still hurting today. My upper arm feels like it's covered in bruises and my hand hurts still. It is pretty funny though. LOL!!

(Zone 7a)

Glad you aren't hurt more. Could have been disastrous! LOL

The sun is shining and it's a pretty good day. So far.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

It's gloomy, windy and getting colder again. If it gets below freezing our roads will have a frozen glaze on them. Course on my road that's not really a bad thing since there's no gravel and no mud, just sludge. LOL

Gonna go see Jeff Dunham tonight!! I really can't wait!!

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

How was Jeff Dunham's show last night?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

We're going to see him in February in Little Rock. I can't wait for that, I bet it was a very good show. I want to see Achmed LOL

I wanted to get on line yesterday but the darn power went out and I got so bored, so I went next door and we were all bored together.

Speaking about falls, we went out Christmas Eve then the day after Christmas to the same place. The cook there was fine Christmas Eve but the day after Christmas he had a big bandage over his nose and a cut on his forehead, so we were thinking bar fight. Nope, he got drunk and fell Christmas Day, nice face plant on his own front porch. I went next door yesterday during the storms and no power and the husband had this huge scrape on his left temple. I didn't ask what happened, none of my business, but it came out in conversation (now this is good, keep in mind he's in his mid 20's) that he had a single buddy over Christmas Night and they bought some Yeager Miester, he had never drank it before. He got too drunk and fell. His wife said he came in the house at 6am but she never went out to check on him, she just thought they were out there partying and having a good time so she went to bed. After his buddy left he had fallen, apparently knocked himself out, woke up a few hours later, undressed in the garage (which is separate from the house) then came in the house with his boxers on. He remembers none of it but vows to never by Yeager Miester again! We were LOAO!!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL Crissy!!!

The show was ok. We were caught off guard because it wasn't a *clean* show like you see on TV and youtube. Very racist. If you like that kind of stuff it was great but otherwise it wasn't too bad. The Guitar Man was really good though.

The funny thing was it started snowing before we left and was snowing all the way up there. Then we get about a mile or so from the arena and we had to stop. There were lines of cars just sitting there waiting to get in. There's only one way in and out. Took 30 min to get in to the parking lot. Then there were long lines outside the arena. Those started moving when we got up there though.

So we get in and get out seats and then I get a text message from a friend who said she could see me. She was one section over from us and saw us come in. LOL. We waved at each other like idiots. LOL

Now here's the worse part was trying to get out. That took took probably 45 min. My friend was there longer than we were. And she had 2 teenage boys with her who were driving her nuts. We kept texting to see where we were at traffic wise. We finally made it out of the parking lot but it still took some time to reach the hwy. We didn't get home til after midnight.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I would've waved LOL! Nothing wrong with that! Alltel Arena isn't very big and there's parking all over the place, so hopefully that won't happen. I bought the refundable tickets in case the weather gets bad or Dave can't get the night off. It'll be alright. I've seen his unclean version and I still crack up, I don't know why LOL

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

It was funny but just a little shocking since we didn't expect it. lol

I would have waved if I could have found her. I think I saw her car a few times but I wasn't sure if it was her or not.

(Zone 7a)

Darrell is jealous, too. He wants to go real bad but the closest show is in Denver! LOL

Was it the Christams special?

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

yep.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May this year be better than the last!

Tiga's partying today big time, in out in out in out in out!

(Zone 7a)

ROTF It HAS to be better than last year.

Isis and Monty have been doing that, only opposite each other. We call it the shift change! LOL

Happy, Happy, Happy New Year!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I was watching the local morning news as I was getting ready for work yesterday morning and they even said on there that 2008 was bad for a lot of people, and we're not just talking the economy and war and all that jazz, personal problems were at an all time high (of course population growth has something to do with that,) but it still shows how bad 2008 was, and to even mention it on the news.

LOL shift change LOL

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Love the shift change!! LOL

Happy New Year!! My resolution is to get a job and back in the saddle.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

My resolution is to stop eating so darn much LOL

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Not me!! If I cut back on my eating I will lose weight and I can't have that. LOL

(Zone 7a)

My resolution is to have better year and whip my gardens into shape. 2008 WAS bad but I have you all so it wasn't TOO horrible!

I got a new roasting pan today and roasted a turkey. After it was done, Darrell and I weren't hungry yet, so, into the fridge it went! LOL We really should stop eating while I'm cooking.

Lose weight? Been trying for years but every time I try, something else goes wrong with the old body. Feet, back, whatever. I'm just going to tough it out and do it anyway.

Terry? Where are you? How was your New Year's? How's the arm?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

My mom had a VERY bad 2008 with her chronic pain and illnesses and all. She's having surgery today so hopefully that will relieve a lot of it and make for a much better 2009.

I am too, working out is going to make my knee hurt but I know it won't injure it more so I don't care, take aspirin or whatever and suck it up LOL

Are you lurking Terry LOL

(Zone 7a)

LOL Crissy, half a Lortab should do it for me. The back is the worst part now. Like you said, I'll suck it up and do it! :-)

Darrell is off to see MILs lawyer this morning. His brother and sister are there, too. May take all day. So, I'm by myself and can't get motivated. I'll probably end up on the couch watching a movie.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

The more you exercise the less your joints will hurt over time. I have learned that the hard way. lol.

My mom and I cleaned carpets today and I cleaned the rugs. I bought a Spotbot here a few weeks ago and I used that on the rugs. It works great!! And I used it when I had to clean up my tea when I accidentally tipped the recliner a bit and bumped into the lamp and spilled it. lol. It's 10 times better than Resolve.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That is very true Pepper.

I don't know, I'm all messed up. I have a tiny tear in my cartilage under my kneecap. The only way to stop that from hurting is to have surgery, they go in with a sander and just sand the tear away. I guess what happens is your kneecap catches on the tear, I don't know. I also have Tendonitis in my right thumb, left wrist, left side of my neck (thank you car wreck,) and left elbow, plus my ankles swell every now and again, but not at the same time! I have no idea what causes the ankle swelling, but it makes them feel like they're detached from the joint.

LOL I had a dream last night that I was visiting someone and they were cleaning their carpets with some new carpet cleaner that just came out, but the person I was visiting was not identified in the dream. I hate it when I do that!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL on the dream!!

Wow!! Lots of injuries there. I'd say just excercise the best you can, maybe even take long walks around the neighborhood. That's something that is gentle on your joints. If it wasn't for your knee I would say bike riding is good and easy too. All better and more scenic and alot better smelling than the gym! You'll find something that works, you just have to get out there and try it a bit.

(Zone 7a)

Horses used to keep me in shape. I had a bad fall years ago and now it's catching up with me with my back. I would give a heck of a lot to have the horses again. They smell better than the gym, too! LOL

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL!! You can still ride, just make sure it's a gentle horse and it's gaited. Those are smooth and easy on the joints. Gaited mules are great too. LOL. We have a woman on the Equine forum who has MS I think it is and she is always riding. She just rides gaited horses cause she can't take the bouncing around anymore.

Dig out the phone book and see if you can find a lesson barn a short drive away. You never know, you might get lucky. :~)

(Zone 7a)

There's a guy not too far away that will let you ride for free. I have yet to go there and get Darrell up on one. I used to barrell race and that's when I fell. THOSE days are over. :0)

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Trick him if you have too. LOL. Haul your butt out there and start riding!!! Especially since it's free!! And if you can't trick Darrell then tell him I told him to go or else I will come up there and push him there. I can get loud and pushy and he will go just to get rid of me. LOLOL!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh yea, I forgot about the bone spurs where my lower back and tailbone join. My body seems to think that I'm 80.

I love walking, but I live in a very hilly area where the streets are narrow, the streets are about 1 1/2 car widths wide, my street is a single car width. Walking around here is dangerous because there is nothing on the sides of the roads to walk on, so you walk on the road. If you are just on one side of a hill and a car is coming on the other side of the hill there's a good chance that car can't see you, and the speed limits are 40mph. There's no way I'd tackle riding a bike around here, that would kill my knee anyway.

I would love to learn to ride! What a great idea! There's horses all over the place around here and we have all kinds of services around here, dog breeders, race horse breeders, handyman services, lawn care, a wildlife preservation guy, owners of construction companies, owners of glass companies, and the list goes on and on.

LOL!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

The best thing about riding is it's easy on the joints. That's why it's so popular for physical therapy for people with disabilities.

Do you have a park in town where you could walk? Walk a dog for a breeder. The dogs would get exercise and so would you. lol

(Zone 7a)

All very good ideas. Darrell is willing, we just never do it. Lazy bones, the both of us!!! LOL

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Tsk, tsk, tsk. LOL! Get up and at it when it warms up to tolerable. Think of it as gardening. Actually, the guy would probably give you some free manure too after you start riding.

(Zone 7a)

Oh, he will! LOL I don't know his name but I'll find out and get our butts over there.
