Awww....

We are now getting hit with the freezing rain. It's soooo gloomy outside!! lol

(Zone 7a)

I'm sorry. I hate the cold and yet, I stay. ☺

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Isis - You sure know how to relax!

Pepper and Celia - I hate the heat, always have, yet I stay. My option is leave and Jeff stays so that's out of the question. He hates the cold - he's not menopausal LOL!

Good morning~

pep, always been a "shop till you drop" kind of gal. I love to shop.

And I do love winter and the snow. It isn't winter without snow to me. Starting on Fri. and ending on Sat., we had snow, then freezing rain, then more snow, then freezing rain, then snow. Sleet mixed in every now and again. How I wish our fireplace worked! We're having bone chilling dangerously low wind chills. It was -4º when I got up this morning. I'm afraid to know what the wind chill is outside. Last night the weathermen said -20º to -30º. Churches aren't having their services this morning, due to the extreme weather. I have a window right beside me, the neighbor just left work with frost on the inside of his windows. Now that's what you call real bright.

We bought all the old movies on DVD yesterday. Watched 1 of them last night. 'Miracle on 34th Street' comes with a "colorized" version. Think we'll stick to old black and white on disk 2.

Still have presents to wrap and my arm is killing me, so I better get off. Stay warm and if I'm not back on before Christmas or the New Year, have a Wonderful Holiday!

(Zone 7a)

Hey, Terry! Sorry your arm still hurts. Bummer, but you did get some old movies to watch. ☺

Darrell is off work for the next 2 weeks!!! Yea!!! He didn't tell me and it was such a surprise. I love it.

MIL still not doing well but she's in a care center that's really nice. She'll be happy there unitl the end. They don't think it will be long. I'm recognizing the signs from when my mom went. System shutdowns in a cascade effect. Darrell took a break yesterday and didn't do anything. About itme, I say. he's been working non-stop for a year or more.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Terry, Increment Weather Day is a bad weather schedule. It's not put out by the National Weather Service. For us the Governor puts out a message to all State Government offices that no one has to come to work either all day or until 10am. The norm is when he says "We're on an Increment Weather Schedule" it means we don't have to be at work until 10am. If it gets too dangerous he'll add that we can be out all day due to unsafe driving conditions. All kinds of businesses, school districts, hospitals, counties, cities, and pretty much anyone can have their own Increment Weather schedule, the Governor only controls the State Government offices.

Where's that little degrees symbol?

I'm sorry your arm still hurts, darn it!

Dave has pneumonia, we had a couple of drag out blow ups this past week and I finally got him to take some Advair, he's doing much better already but still is way congested.

I'm sorry about your MIL Celia, that's tough. I'm glad Darrell took the day off from all of the stress, family will drive you insane.

(Zone 7a)

Yeah, it's getting harder by the day. He said to me the other day, "I used to be afraid of her now I'm afraid FOR her." She may not make it to the new year.

Hold down your ALT button, then press 167 and release the ALT. Voila!!! º

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL. I just use the star or type deg. Too much work to hold all those buttons at once. And my computer my freak out on me. It don'[t take much for it to do that.

It is absolutely freezing here!! Sun is shining though! I have long underwear on along with my bibs, 2 shirts and then when I go outside I put my heavy coat on with a hat and gloves. I'm all bundled up today. It hurts to breathe too if I'm out there for more than a few minutes.

We still have ice on our road and I almost didn't make it up the hill going to wally world earlier. I didn't have my truck in 4WD and I didn't turn my hubs on cause I didn't think I would need it. Wrong!! LOL. I was spinning my tires the whole time. Once I made it up I hit dirt again so I was fine. Then coming back down the hill I ended up sliding past the driveway. That turned out to be a good thing cause my dad had to use my truck to move the trailer and he didn't have to turn it around.

(Zone 7a)

I hope this works. If not I'll try a different way.

Chuckling at Monty LOL!!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Merry Christmas to all you guys!!

Sharon, tell Jeff Happy Birthday from me too. If I had known ahead of time I would have gotten him a birthday present. :~)

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jeff! I know I'm a day late. I drove to work the other day on patchy icy interstate, that was scary and probably won't do it again. Love the video, some of those people just don't give up! Now tonight we're supposed to get severe thunderstorms with tornados, that's worse! I'm starting to not like the weather here, it's a tad scary for me. Dave's going to be home tonight so that's good.

(Zone 7a)

Scary, Crissy! We had a family member flying into town last night. they finally made it but we got slammed by a blizzard. 8" of the yucky stuff!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'd rather have 8" of yucky stuff than tornados, any day!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

You guys are getting hit with bad weather and we have a temp pf 62 here today. Weird. lol. Everyone be careful if you have to go out in the bad stuff.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas yesterday!!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I agree with you Chrissy. The snow I can handle but the tornadoes are a little harder to prepare for.

(Zone 7a)

Can't I just go live on an island somewhere? Someplace that never gets snow, tornadoes, hurricanes? Just gentle warm rains on occassion? That'd be great!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL!! All islands have to worry about hurricanes and cyclones.

(Zone 7a)

Not the one in my head! LOL Weather is a constant 75º-80º, there's a slight breeze off the ocean, seabirds calling, lunch falling off the trees and a steady flow of mangoritas. Ahhhh...

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Sorry Celia - I have to agree with Pepper - hurricanes, tornadoes, volatile weather in between the hot spells.

75-80 is too hot LOL! 70-75 is what I'm talking about!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Hawaii is the best place to live if you pick the least populated one. You mainly have to worry about the volcanos depending on which part of the island you are on. Oh, can't forget the bugs, cane toads and weeds that never go away. LOLOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That's right Pepper, Hawaii doesn't have tornadoes, hurricanes, snow, sleet, or any of that. It stays 80º all year round. Hawaii does have volcanoes and earthquakes, and a tidal wave once in a great while. If I were to move there I would live in Maui, very nice and pretty, but small.

It's known that San Diego, CA has the best weather, but it's expensive (not as bad as Hawaii,) it's way overpopulated, and it's not an island. Again, lots of earthquakes.

Again, Ladies...the one in my head is the perfect place. Join me for a mangorita?

Monty's ready for that island trip!

I'll take a Mangorita!

You got it, Honey! Help yourself. The blender's full.

Boo caught a leaf! LOL

Well, Darrell is off with his brother getting last minute details for the funeral finished. Taking pics to the mortuary for the obit, setting times for the ceremonies, shoveling snow at MIL's house for family...stuff like that. Way too many funerals this year. We're getting to be experts at something we wanted no part of. But that's how it goes, I suppose. We all have to do things we don't want to and know things we wish we never did.

The snow is sliding off the roof!

Well, I had a little accident a little while ago. I was going down the stairs so I could stick my hand between the spindles to pet Curly and my right foot slipped. I had my hand in between the spindles already and caught my arm on it and bruises my upper arm and a couple cuts on my hand. They all hurt pretty good right now. lol.

Can you tell I'm accident prone? LOL

(Zone 7a)

I'm sorry...I was laughing when I read that but I really am glad you aren't hurt more! LOL

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL!! I'm laughing too so don't worry about it. Once I got over the shock and pain it became kinda funny. The only reason I slipped was because I had my socks on and our stairs aren't covered. I've slid down those stairs too many times to count. This is just the first time I got caught in the spindles.
