(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well, finally got back home. Had to have the car towed. Luckly my mom has AAA and it didn't cost a thing to get it here. Rick will be spending his day off fixing his car, no football for him. OH wait we have TIVO he can record it, lol. Mom and I will be gone shopping beings our planned trip got ruined today.

But BJ, you have to have a gator, duck or fish in your garden so that you have the whole group of Sistahs all in one place. Oh and when you're ready, I want to order..................

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

YUUUMMMMMMMM LEMON PIE IS THE BEST!

BJ, listen up, Marion and LK know best!

You to Tink, mind Marion.....rest up and get all better!

Cindy glad you manged to get the car back home.....been there done that way too many times!!! Hope you can enjoy your shopping trip now.

Got to get ready for Church...TTYL.....

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

My day started on the skids. Had a toothache. Just try to find a dentist open on a Saturday. Well, I did in a little town about 20 miles from home. Wouldn't you know the dentists office was on main street- Just where the Christmas parade was. I had to park in a church parking lot -I don't know how far away it was but I was huffing and a puffing- Then I had to beg a police officer to let me cross the street. After the ordeal was over I had to wait for the end of the parade to cross the street yet again. Well, needless to say I had a nice historical walk around that little town trying to find the church where I parked my car. I did get a good walk today LOL Sheesh

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Tina which little town? We were passing through Conway this evening, and noticed a couple of stores closing down in the historical district.
Next time you can't find a dentist, swish some vodka over the gums. That will numb the pain.
Err.. some sistahs here would say why not just drink it!!!

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

I was in Conway right in the middle of the historical district. Isn't it a beautiful little town. On my walk I saw many historical homes. I swilled the wine over my gums last nite. Drank some too. It didn't help I lost an old friend today. lol Oh and the 345.00 numbed my pain too!! lol

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Ouch!!! Just to pull out one tooth?
The parade must have ended when we got there. It was around 5.30 or 6.
Yeah, downtown itself is pretty. Main Street used to be lined with ancient oak trees, till the town got rid of them, sad... In summer, they'd have a blue grass festival with national artists performing...if you like blue grass. Did you notice the Theatre of the Republic? It's redone and has a nice old time marquee.
Kel says he doesn't mind living in Conway. That's where his mum's from.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sorry about your old friend..

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Can't keep my eyes open... this old lady's going off to bed.
Night all. Cya in the morning.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Um, Trisha... LISTEN UP?.... ROTFL... too funny.

Oh, that's so painful to add to your misery of the tooth ache... otherwise, the parade might have been kind of nice to watch.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Night sistah Jaye. Sleep tight.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Listen up's what I was always told to do......but they are correct, your work is absolutely incredible....what could possibly need improving?

Tina sorry about the toothache....ouch!

Most of you are turning in for the night, I just got home, we are getting a dusting of snow and I am about to enjoy a pot of beef stew and cornbread, got a nice fire going.....let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Trisha... I just had to laugh at the visual I got when I read that... I could just see you standing straight up, putting one hand on your hip, and point at me with your other hand, and with a very authoritative voice... "Now, Listen up, little lady !!!" LOL...

Ok, here's the problem I am seeing with my polymer clay projects... finger prints. I can't seem to keep from leaving them in the clay, and I can't seem to sand them all out... and if I can't get all the finger prints out, it won't polish up well. Don told me on the phone tonight that he's got some surgical gloves out in the shop and I should try using those... so, tomorrow... I'll do that.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Well, if that solves the problem let me know, I hve been fighting the same problem....in my book on making gnomes and fairies they use a paint brush to smooth out prints?????

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I tried that... maybe I don't have the right paint brush... don't know... I've got a lot to learn though... I do know that.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Off to bed here... night all.

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Ladies... so busy the last two days, really having trouble keeping up with everything! Sweet dreams to all... Debra, your hubby looks like he's having a great time, and good job being the designated driver!

Brenda

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Jaye-glad that you got the box, now just waiting for Auntie M to get hers-and I love it-I took a pic if anyone wants to see it?? I LOVE it......it is perfect for a summer bag!!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

BJ, don't leave me out! Lets see you make a "doe"!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Happy Blessed Sunday!
Beautiful weather we're having today here.. no snow dusting the ground, no frost neither. Perfect for another shopping spree! Unfortunately two quilt stores had emptied me pockets :">
Niece, that's not your Christmas gift, it's a "you need a smile" gift ^_^
It's so airy and cheery looking, just like the real you!
Brenda, don't stay away too long. Us nosy sistahs always want to know what's going on with e-v-e-r-y-b-o-dy..
Morning Audrey!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

It's freaking COLD here. It's only 32 here. If it would have rained like it was suppose to, I think it would have snowed. The warmest it's going to get today is 45, and Rick has to work on his car so he can get to work tomarrow.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Morning ladies !!!

Audrey... I'm still thinking about yours... your "Likes and Dislikes" on the other page says you like candle sticks... although, I keep thinking "CAT" for you...

It's 66 here already... and is suppose to get to 72 today... Don's off, so we'll probably get outside and do a little clean up today before it turns bad again tomorrow. BUT, it's suppose to rain today sometime too, so Don may just want to stay in bed today. He's a whipped puppy after all that traveling.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You're lucky Cindy that Rick can do some mechanic work. I know of men who don't even know how to change the oil!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

LOL my phone just rang, it's my cousin in Athena, Or she has 1 1/2 feet of snow. She told my mom to get her little behind on a plane and get up there.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I am having the hardest time...I am wrapping pressies to send, and can't find the right size mailing boxes:(

Trisha-when you get yours, there is something for Laura and something for Sage in there...

Auntie M-I forget your Gdaughters names-ans which one is the fairy lover??

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Good morning! Can't believe I slept in until 9:00am! Still catching up from Friday night. Brenda, it's probably technically incorrect to call myself the 'designated driver' as I did drink wine but stopped an hour or so before leaving and definitely no shooters! Let's just say DH 'designates me' as the one to drive home. LOL!

Didn't share what we were doing yesterday morning. DH and I were both in a concealed weapons carry permit class. Does that surprise anyone? He he, most people don't quite see me as packing heat. LOL! Don't know if I'd ever use it but do want to be legal if I ever have a weapon in the car while traveling, etc. It's a different world out there. DH had one but let it expire so he had to take the class over again.

BJ, we can't see the fingerprints of course, but I'm sure they bother you. Bet you will find a solution quickly. Have you tried a quick google of the problem to see how other artisians resolve the problem? Or even pose the question on one of the DG artisian threads - there's a lot of talented members out there who may be able to help.

Cindy, you don't see freezing temps often do you? What happens to your plants?

Stacey, YES, take a photo! You know you can't mention pressies without showing them to us!

Trishia, did you enjoy the snow? Did Bing Crosby serenade you? I got a good visual also - but of you toasting your toes in front of the fire with a mug of hot cocoa in your hands and singing White Christmas.

Tina, how's your tooth? Feeling better today? That's amazing that you and Jaye were in the same small town at the same time. Sounds like a pretty little historic area. Hope Cedric will take us there.

Better get moving. Still in my robe! WE MUST get our tree up today. Haven't done a single thing to decorate yet. First thing is to get the fall wreaths off the front doors .....

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

It usually doesn't freeze where I live. But winter of 06-07 it did freeze 1 day. I have a Glory Flower/Princess Flower and it froze but came back. I thought it was dead, was starting to pull it out of planter when I notice some new growth. I thought that my brug had froze last night, so I was out trimming it and noticed that a few blooms will open in a few days so I quit cutting it, to see what will happen. I left it out all winter last year, it got a little frost on it but didn't hurt it too bad.

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Good morning, and Happy Sunday! We have about 5" of snow from overnight! Baking today (wish me luck, apparently this whole higher elevation thing complicates baking a bit... any words of wisdom greatly appreciated. We're at 7000 feet.). I got my Santa hat, Jaye! Thank you, I'll try to get creative with it! Have a loveley day, everyone!

Brenda

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yah, get a step ladder, Brenda!! Nyak, nyak, nyak!! :D Sorry.. been always living on lower grounds, but sending sweet luck to you!

BJ, so whose will you be doing next? I agree with Marion wholeheartedly, since she's the expert on what sells at the crafts fair... you should set up a booth. You could do a whole line of zodiac critters to start with, and that WILL sell.

We need a hard freeze this year Cindy, just to kill the fleas!!

Good Lord.. forget to ask Debra to please post a pic of the Christmas tree..
is that ADD or ... what happened to the cat Kel :D

Thought I'd feed answer you here Marion!
Of course more Moda fabrics. Was tempted to get some sweet 16s, but I rather stick to a yard of each! Like Kel says, I can allow mistakes that way! More of the late Laura Burch, some coffee prints fabrics and the latest rooster print fabric by BlankQuilting with co-ordinating materials to make into a runner. (Ooops giving myself away there :D) All these at 20%off. I was disappointed there's not much new Asian prints. I love Koana Bay.. so rich.
The 1930s prints were 50% off.. guess what? Yup, stocked up on that too. Tho' I'm not a big fan but they'd look good if made into aprons.
Imagine if there were pre-quilted fabric sold.. we might have to walk home and sell the truck to pay for all purchases!!!
Think I still can't beat your fabric stash Marion!

Talking of apron, wonder if Judy has finished her gift apron.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Urrrrgggghhhh ADD again!!!
Marion, watch out for your dmail..

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well Sistahs, we now have a tree!! Not up yet but in the bucket of water while we rearrange furniture. Wahoo, we are started now. Emptied the trash bin so I am going to repurpose ( I am so glad BJ invented that word) the limbs from other trees that have been trimmed. Have some beautiful Fraiser Fir limbs to work with!!!! I think I am more excited about those than the tree.

BJ, if I didn't know better I would say you are a Virgo with perfection. Truly those are adorable and I have not doubts they would move fast. Beautiful work.

Oh Tina of MB, I do hope you are feeling better today. No fun having a toothache on the weekend--well any day for that matter.

Brenda, just send the mis happens of your baking this way. Those you haven't adjusted for the altitude problem. Sure they will be delicious also.

Trisha, a light dusting of snow!! Oh goody!!! Send us some please.

Tink, it is the oldest one Abbigail--well both for that matter but she is the most involved.

Debra, glad to see you are up and moving!! Sleeping in is good for you every now and then. Kim woke me up early and offered to take me to breakfast. I can't remember the last time I dressed so fast!!! Same color shoes on too!!!!

Sorry I missed any, sending big hugs and waving.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

OH my I have just turned GREEN!!! What a find on fabric Jaye. I love the 1930's prints. Working on a quilt with some now. Found a small wallhanging I like and am in the process of working it out on a larger scale for a double bed.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Alright sistahs.. for some of you that are wanting snow.. here you go..

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the treetops glisten,
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write.
May your days be merry and bright.
And may all your Christmases be white.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Forgot to mention too Marion, Kel got me a couple of instructional videos.
He has been so generous with me, I can't believe after I've broke the bank in one store, he brought me to another and told me to enjoy myself!! What a man!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

As I have said before---a good man is hard to find and when you do--treat him right and Keep Him!!!! Sure wish I had mine back!!!

Oh my I could hear Bing Crosby singing!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Time for me to take care of the plants in the g/h. Sistahs, stay indoors, stay warm.. Stacey.. stay sane!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello everyone. How you all doing? Shopping for fabrics, and tooth aches, and snow...
Lots going on for sure.
We are just spending the day relaxing, and watching re-runs on tv.
Hope everyone will have a great day.
Just popping in to say hello.

Bj, I can't wait to see your next creation, for the garden markers.

LK

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

I wish I could find one!! LOL My toothache is gone and so is my tooth. I am such a BABY when my mouth hurts because is it the most used body part. HA HA. Thanks for asking. Jaye one day we will meet when we least expect it !!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

When I said a "dusting", it is just a tiny dusting of snow...just enough to see a little white on the roof...Could use a little bit more....they are saying maybe Wednesday.....But it is COLD.....the High is only supposed to be in the low to mid 30's this week.

Laura is coming over this afternoon...we are going to see if we get all of the craft stuff out and the Christmas stuff in......if we are lucky might even get the tree up....

I think it was Cindy that mentioned an Ornament exchange for next year....I like that idea. Almost all of my tree decorations except for the lights and Glass balls are handmade....the few that aren't are some that have special sentimental value for one reason or another.....

Aside from the Birth of Christ.....what are your favorite Christmas Stories? Why?

My first one is the original How The Grinch Stole Christmas....when it first came out my dad was in charge of entertainment for his Kiwanis Club Christmas Dinner...he finally came up with the idea of having one of the College Drama students read the Grinch....it was a huge success....and I got to keep the book!

The second one is A Cup of Christmas Tea......it just evokes the sounds and smells of my childhood Christmases ....reminds me of my Great Aunt and others who were or would be Happy with just a visit from loved ones.......and I need to edit my Likes list I forgot my Cup of Christmas Tea Cups..........the Book, the Tea Pot and my Tea Cups are my Christmas Centerpiece every year.

The Third is Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas....such a sweet story....

In all three cases I think the attraction is that everyone has a beautiful Christmas with family and friends without the Commercial Aspects.....

Well it looks like I need to fill the Big Bird feeder.....the birds are gathering and it has started to snow again........verylightr and fine....probably won't last long, but so pretty....

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Baby It's Cold Outside!!! lol, Well it looks like my mom will be getting some snow, tomarrow. It's suppose to snow as low as 1200 which is very rarely this happens. And she is down here with me. Rick will be working back at the Home Depot but with his new job, so he will be working in the snow and he hates it.
