Brother Bernie and nephew Scott...Scott officially as of today can retire with full service from the army...did travel with Gmt. officials all over the world as their protection..now is on a drug enforcement group with army and also once our dead brave soldiers come back an autopsy must be performed but just prior to that he has to review and study body injury..very/very interesting listening to him talk..although today he could retire he's staying on and will ask to be sent to Afghanistan next year..3rd. term in war zones...figures another 2 or 3 years then he'll retired and be a police officer workingpart time..as he's 39 and must too young to retire...

Betty, I've never crafted anything in my entire life, I mean never have used a glue gun before (what is that??) I haven't sewn a button before! I haven't got any hot glue on me or anything! I'm shocked, especially at the hair, I keep looking at him while he's looking at me saying, "I can't believe I did that!" LOL

Thank you so much for sharing your family! I love the pictures, and you house is so beautiful. Maybe some day I'll have this one all pretty and cozy like.

Thanks Crissy..as for crafting and turning out 'masterpieces' when someone says "I can't" I tell them "it's not that you can't it's that you've no interest to try"..now that you've tried and have done an amazing job for your very first project you'll be more encouraged to try something else..you'll also have the crafting bug....then perhaps you'll not thank me..lol

Had a good nights rest, cleaned for about 1 1/2 after all left..up early enought to vacuum and steam mop the floors..shouldn't look as though I did my major feast when the girls get here to paint today...

Bringing nothing to work with me today, will simply be a sit and rest day...off Friday for 16 days so will enjoy the time off...

Decision now will be what do I want to do on Friday..go on my own or stay home....rought choice...

I saw that wunder posted on the last thread-for her-this is the first year we have had Xmas in 3 years-last 2 years we couldn't afford anything-not even a tree, so I know how ya feel:) We just made it a resting day for us and laid in bed all day:)

Am finished, house back in order, off to sit for awhile, pouring rain..roads will be icepacked so likely Suzanne will call earlier..have a floral arrangement bagged for Suzanne and one for Paul..only about 7 gifts to deliver and I'll be wondering what to do with myself..

Paul is back from vacation today, not sure if he will be in our office or the Toronto office...

Did relent..Greg brought his snowmobile dickie back for some changes so in a bag it goes, might play with it today...

Betty, looks like you had a wonderful time with your family, and the birthday party!!! You make me tired, just reading all your post. I love that you share your life with all of us, and I for one, look forward to coming here daily, to read about what is going on at Betty's place! Now it looks like you still have another crafting night with the ladies, and then going to Florida. Please go, I know you will have a great time. I know you are worried about your Mom, but she does have someone to watch her? And Cedric is on his way to your place, so maybe he will be there for the Friday night crafters to learn from.

As for taking my advice re bankruptcy, sometimes it's the only way to get back on track financially and to rebuild your credit...

It meant for when you find it overwhelming and it's a legal process that allows you to clear their debts and make a clean start with the least disruption to your life...you will feel so much better not having the debt hanging over your head...

I can't believe it....it is jsut nasty cold here right now and there was just a hummingbird at my feeder! Humming birds in the snow, now there is a picture if I could get it! I shall have to be sure and keep some nectar in the hummingbird feeder.

Weatherman this morning said that is was record breaking for snow this past Nov/Dec...rain yesterday and this morning did pack the snow down somewhat...

Are you still making santa's? did that other package arrive...can't understand it..am starting to believe your post office does have 'santa' lover within their workforce...

It is 29 degrees with fairly strong wind gusts....we get a few spells like this through the winter but this IS very cold for those of us along the waterways. And my poor poor dog does not like the wind at all, (I'm sure I have told her story more than once) so she is back hiding in the hallway.

Oh yes, I am still making Santa's, not as much progress as I would like this past week, but still going. And I keep finding more fabrics. Our Dollar Store had some little trees just a bit taller than the Santas that will look very cute decorated and displayed next to them....I picked up two to see how they work out and also found metal lanterns...they may be a little large, may have to make Santa a bit taller?

Package arrived today Betty. Thanks. I have mailed the money so hope it arrives really soon. Sunny bright here but nippy all at the same time. Stay warm everyone.

Hopefully the package will show up soon....with all the bad weather that has been going on around the country I am amazed that things go as well as they do. I did tell Keith that we think there is a Postal Person somewhere making Santa's....he was quite amused with the idea.

Cedric should be arriving soon.........I hope he hasn't joined the Santa! I don't know how soon you plan on leaving.....I was thinking you could get a few good Crafting and Snow pics, then if you are leaving soon, ship him in the US would be less expensive that way. And if you have time constraints you needn't keep them for the entire week....just a day or two to get pictures would be fine.

Pray for AnnMarie (1Anjl) whose cancer has returned for the 3rd time I believe and is being operated on...... also has a child that needs prayers...

Because of the hours I work Trisha, it's hard to get to the post office..will drop in every night and if there is a card showing a parcel is there I'll have someone pick him up...yep, I'm sure there is something I can do to entertain him...

Jeff my youngest is off for 2 weeks starting Friday (same as I'm off) yesterday I asked how he'd like to take mom to Florida, of course he can't because he's on standby with work as he developed a new program that has just been bought my a major client and wants to be within an hour of the office just incase..program was 9 million dollar sale...

So I e-mailed him and said I could use the guilt trip and say 'Jeff, this could be my last year!"


Just got an e-mail from him..care to guess what his response was...

so laughing....

Here it is....

"Nope, you would get one more trip when I spread your ashes into the ocean..."

When my grandmother who raised me died (she was 99) was in her own home my boys were maybe 6 and 7 and every Christmas eve we'd pack up and travel to her house although they wanted to stay home...I'd alway say 'this could be her last year' well they were in their mid 30's when she finally died..it was a great laugh yesterday talking about it...


So thought I'd try it again...

BETTY!!! dont even think it!!! i would not be alive today if it were not for you and others on this thread!! and i do mean that literally, when there was non one who understood, you were there and i juswt sat and basically breathed... look at all the love that has been sent my way!! i couldnt survive without it.. i havnt been well enough to make my quilt yet and i havnt forgotten about it either, i have the fabric sitting right here where i can see it, from all my friends! my garden angels.

now people may come and go, they get what they need i guess, u love them bandage them and set them in their feet again , pat their butt and off they go. standing on their own two feet. why i bet if ALL the people who you have helped without thought of yourself came over to your house it would fill the whole city!!

Wow is it stormy, was clear in Barrie and as I drove north is was blowing so hard poor little car was swaying in the wind...nice to be home, going to run a bath, have a hot chocolate, put my feet up and enjoy a quiet evening...
