Morning!! Betty-I am just like you-I clean an organize my craft area-it stays that way for about 2 hrs, then all messy again!!LOL

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Good Morning everyone,
Your invitation to,..and description of this "room"reminds me of the soft voiced man on the children's show..at the beginning..but can't think of his name right now.. :)

Roads look ok here Betty..you do have an amazing amount of snow up there. Yesterday the roads were so icy in the morning ..but of course cleared up later in the day when it was time to go swimming. I am looking after my grandaughter this week so I need to go out early..
Your office looks really nice..is that a goldtone colour paint on the walls..nice sunny look with the dark furniture.

Bev..did you take that photo of the deer on your property? Must have been fun to see. Isn't it funny when we retire and have all the time to sleep in..we can't...

Oh Ruby..must tell you that I made your applesauce cake lagain ast weekend..and added some cranberries to it like Betty did. Gives a nice bit of colour..Did I tell you I substitute 1 tablespoon of ground flax seed and three tablespoons of water for each egg that your receipe calls for. It works very well and is nice and moist.
If Judy didn't have any Allspice I am sure just adding a bit more cinnamon and nutmeg would do in its place. What do you think.

Betty..awhile ago you asked what I bought at that Country Garden Market that you and I went to..this is the bird feeder I bought for my eldest son along with 15 lbs. of black oil sunflower seed and an National Audubon Eastern region bird book..
Scrabble seems to be making a comeback..so I bought games for my neice and nephews.

Waving to all..
Enjoy your day..
Cheers,
Carol

OMG what a surprise, got up about 1 hr. later than normal, because I'm helping Suzanne and am trying to get a few of my santa's done I'm rushing about like crazy...youngest son Jeff said he'd try to drop in around noon into the new office to fix a few glitches with computer system soooo had to write out a card, put $$$ in it, he asked for a blackberry pearl battery for his phone, well I called all over yesterday aft. and you apparently have to order them via computer..sounds stupid to me..anyway..he said 'mom, I need one so that would be great, around $30-$40. so when I asked the price $79.99..guess he doesn't realize inflation has set in..anyway, I look at the clock, taking my car today and picking up Suzanne so thought I'd best get going, car warming up, wow it's 6:55, better get a move on then all of a sudden it dawns on me, don't have to leave until 8:00 so now I have one hour found to relax..what a nice feeling, hate rushing...

Carol, beautiful birdfeeder..now is it metal or the new resin like the feeder you already have? You really should have bought 2, one for a gift and one for you...back you go, but only if your roads are clear...my stepfather loves birds/wildlife..bought him books but never thought about the bird book..Suzanne bought Lenny binoculars as he also loves to watch the birds...

I have to figure out how I can feed the little ones without going waist deep in the snow...last night I was thinking (sometimes that can get me into trouble...) my DIL Melanie got a new floater snowmobile suit..they keep mine at their house incase someone drops in and wants to go for a ride so I'm without but that doesn't matter as I doubt I could fit into it anymore, so, tonight I'll call and ask her for her old one...we're about same size except she's taller...that way I can tramp down a pathway...might also ask Greg to drop in with snowmobile and make several passes around them so it gets hardpacked...I've got a lot of seed I purchased in the fall...guess the sunflower seeds I could just scatter on the snow, that might do ???

Bev, it's not that I wouldn't like to sleep in on mornings I'm home but the body clock changes as we get older and I'm up at least by 4:30 and can't get back to sleep so rather than stay in bed I might as well be productive...someone told me when you get to the 60' and 70's you really only need 5 or 6 hrs. of sleep? doesn't seem like much does it..

Best go shut of the car..still an hour to go..lol

It's so very cold here but no snow, at least for today and maybe tomorrow...please pray that Sunday will be same for travelling for my family...

Carol, the kids I imagine are finished school next Friday for Christmas holidays, will you then be sitting all day while parents work?

Wow Carol, you should have seen the roads the last few days, guess with you watching the 'A' Channel you saw all the collisions and storms..yes, it's a winter wonderland here..can't believe the amount of snow..already the banks are about 4 or 5 feet high if not more...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bev that's like all of our rooms we craft in...I have so much room for craft studio that most would die for..problem is it's getting mega filled, not with junk but good supplies, then to make matters worse, all my girlfriends who craft with me they bring supplies here should we need them..doesn't take long and I'm looking for space...just the other day Aline brought in a big storage tub full of ribbon..good quality, but lordy where will I put it, then June found those towers of drawers, yes they are wonderful and you can organize within but again where to they go....

I must get the room here completely cleaned by Sunday..my dining room really only fits the table/chair set and has build in unit for storage so when you are a big crown you can do buffet and sit on couch/chairs..but a few years ago I started to set up 6 tables downstairs, decorated and when our meal is ready all help to bring down the food and we can ALL sit and enjoy..to do that this year I need a mega clean-up..

Suzanne is suppose to go shopping with her daughter tonight but I'm hoping she'll cancel, come and finish the last 7 santa's-only decorating so I can store all the materials again and clean..

With not having Friday afternoons off it really cuts into my planning schedule..I'll make it though..

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I used to have a small jewelry shop in my big long living room where Rick is now and I have a closet packed full of beads and jewelry findings. Need to make something or get rid of. Going to make some tree hangings for my shade gardens and fish pond area. Been taking the good stuff to church and giving it to the ladies there. I want to sit down and make some more of the crosses too. I made this dragonfly as my symbol. HUGS BEV

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

A quick hello and I think I am going back to bed!! Got up early thinking I would go to Gainesville today (150 miles) but the weather is really bad and not suppose to clear until late--by that time it would be in Gainesville and I would still be traveling in it. So undressed back in my robe and sleepy.

I am glad to hear about putting the cranberries in the cake--wonder about craisins? Should work.

Have a good day all.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Betty glad to hear you did not have to rush out the door so quick.

Bev, do you have a picture of one of the crosses you made, would love to see it please.

Drive safely on those roads up there. Don't need to tell you it is the guy behind you, that you need to watch out for!

Thanks for the hot cocoa, and cake.

Good Morning Everyone.

Ok...Was quite busy yesterday. Got alot straightened and put away, lol...more laundry etc.
Then made my list to go shopping. Making chili cheese dip for the Santa swap tonight.
so got the ingrediants for that then i wanted to try at a chicken pie so added those ingredients.
Found Spice all...holy mackerolies!! this baking is so expensive!! 54+ dollars and I forgot the the Applesauce!
LOL...so will go to walmart and pick that up. Doh.

Thank You Ruby for the emergency D-mail, LOL so glad I waited.
Sounds like you were quite busy too...I am telling you it feels so good to have the time to do things...
I don't feel so rushed and it is real nice to just work rooms. LOL, thats why it's taking me forever. getting side tracked in other rooms!
Liz, glad yours came out good.I can't wait to try it. Also, making cornbread for first time too.

So already at it this AM...LOL, I awoke at 4:30! Geesh, what is going on withmy sleep system???

Oh My Gosh, I love your new set up at work...

Stacey, are you feeling better? Just remembered you spent a day out in the cold. So I hope you are now toasty warm.

OMG, Went through alot of wood yesterday as it was pretty cold. But so nice to have a fire going...Well I do have to haul in some more wood...So i will talk to you in a bit.

Waving to all, enjoy your day.

Bedford, VA(Zone 7a)

Ves, I'm sorry, my husband and I only got regular and reading glasses, but I have asked another person I know who got glasses from them your question. I will let you know!

Bev, I like that Dragonfly, it's really cute.

Hi Everyone, you're making me hungry, talking about cakes so early in the morning!

Betty, isn't it terrible how much they charge to replace things like phone batteries!. My darn laser printer needed a new drum- the price for this little assembly, just a plastic case and rubber roller, really, cost $89.00 from the factory! So, I ended up buying a brand new wireless laser from the same company (Brother) for $89.00 - it just made more sense because these electronic things get obsolete so quickly, lord knows how long the toner cartridges would continue to be available......

Busy day today as I have been playing all week, tons of work to get done, been working since 4am and am just taking a quick break!
I wish everybody a good day, it's warm and rainy here, 60 degrees- yuck!
Hugz,
Terri

Victoria Harbour, ON

Awwww just did it again, had a long post, went back to look at Bev's dragonfly and puff...gone into cyberspace...

Was telling you all that my ride in way on bare roads but because of the change in weather it was icefog..everything so misty and glittery..beautiful..

Marion, a day of rest..will it now put you behind schedule? not tornado weather is it? Am so hoping to go to Florida so I can drop in and have coffee..I'm a big girl, could go on my own..travelled to Chicago in the fall but that is slightly different as I didn't have to contend with bad weather...
We'll see...I'm starting to get the travel bug and antsy .. there are several people I could have coffee with enroute to mom's...

Bev love the dragonfly..I had several parcels, one of which is a dragonfly to ship off and thought because of the $$$ for posting and travel time from here I'd take them with me and as soon as I cross the border on the 19th I'd mail them..but with being so undecided best get them into the mail on Saturday (only day I can make the post office)...so might be late...

Linda Kay, do watch the other driver carefully and yes it's the guy behind, in front and from experience on the side..last year Suzanne and I got hit by a tractor trailer..only through the grace of God are 'we'... so we're more cautious than normal..that can work both ways..over cautious can be dangerous...

Brought in cake and birthday card if Jeff drops in this aft. - hope he does..if not we'll eat it anyway..lol

Best get at all those santa's....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Terri, 60 degrees..no yuck, wish it were even 40 here..lol...

You are so right about purchasing new versus replacement because at times it's cheaper...they talk about 'green' saving our landfill sites etc and now they make everything throw away..and where does it go???

Bought a printer not long ago and need new cartridge...cost about $48.00, hello on sale at Walmart you can get printers for the same and not worrying about other parts going wrong because of age...so next time I see the sale, one will come home with me..don't need an expensive version for sure...

Now what are you working on that has you up at 4am

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

ROFLOL Betty I am always behind! That is nothing new for me. Did have a hard time sleepy last night as I was excited about seeing my buddy in Gainesville--been about 5 months since we have had a chance to sit down and just visit!!!

Yes, we are under a tornado watch until noon. Temp was 70 when we got up and that makes it a mess for the line of thunderstorms moving through the area--state as a matter of fact. 70 is our high should be in low 50's by 5 today. We shall see what happens.

If you don't catch me here--we will certainly connect while you are in Clearwater. You could even come to Arcadia and we could browse the shops.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Tater will take a pic of mine if I find it. I had sold them for $5.00 and give 5 last ones to a lady to sell for me but never returned so!!!! I will look. BEV
Thankyou all about the dragonfly pin.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Judy-have a scratchy tickly throat and I am depressed-if you read my wooes on the SI thread

Victoria Harbour, ON

Marion, Arcadia is that lovely town mid Florida center isn't it, south of Clearwater..been there before browsing...just the prettiest town...I love antiques and it was just up my alley..it must be quite a distance from you home though?

Stacey, you best be looking after yourself or you'll be in bed for christmas...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Running through again, important message for VES

Ves, my friend says she bought the bifocals and is pleased with them, thinks they cost about $40.00 which considering it's 2 glasses in one isn't bad. She says the next pair will have bigger lenses though, these are small.
You can call Zenni instead of ordering online and talk to them about the size lenses you want, or email them, they will give you suggestions.

Betty, because of the economy, one of my clients agreed to increase the prices they paid their supplier for the materials shipped over the past year. Since that increased the value of the goods, they need to go back to Customs for over 200 entries and pay more duty, so I need to write up tender letters, post entry amendment forms, print and bill checks and assemble all to send to Customs one at a time. There are a lot fo different commodities and prices which makes it hard. I committed to do at least 20 per week and I am barely holding my own in that department, because of internet problems and slow service/printing. Then today I got an emergency request for an amendment from another company that has to be done and shipped out today, but it;s for a refund so that's one less problem!
Must stay away from DG, hahaha!

Bye bye for now!
