Hellebores are starting to look a bit ratty, but this one still looks pretty nice.
Garden Photos - Part 46
Awesome Cardinal Capture!
Thanks, Willie!
You betcha!
I have been looking at the Nikon D60
http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/ProductDetail.page?pid=25438
Whatcha think??!!??
I have the old-fashioned Nikon 6006 35mm already pretty well stacked, and I think I can use most of the lens, etc. with it.
Looks nice, though I would check some reviews first. Dpreview, stevesdigicams, kenrockwell and cnet are all ones I like.
Wow - how much snow did you get? (I think the oregano needs pinching.)
5 inches and really strong winds have drifted it. We tossed in the shovel on the walks and driveway after 3 shovels in one day. I just put out I sign "Go Home You Fools" and let it fill in.
lol, think I would of too!
Snow snow snow...we have snow.
minute, tiny little brushings, but snow.
And cold.
And ice beneath.
Yuck.
I am so not a winter person.
Will see what I can find of paintings....
Nice pics, Victor. I love that cardinal.
Karen
I was thinking of you Sharon, seeing that bad weather was headed your way.
There is some snow in Portland, OR. too. The grandkids had off from school today.
I love pictures of cardinals and red berries.
Yes - I leave them all up too.
Here's looking at yew!
you're such a dork!
hee hee
lol... That's awesome Evie! hehe. I leave up quite a few things as well, different reason. Makes it easier for me to identify what I'm doing to which plant if when do get out and mess around with the garden in the winter. At least that's what I tell people :-p. I love the ninebark pic.
Sharran, I agree completely. So not the winter person. I like to be outside too much for this crud.
Dahlia.. I love your ingenuitive sign idea. Did it work? Some of those herbs look like they need to breathe a little!
Great pictures Victor, I love that cardinal. The ilex... Is it an ilex x meserveae 'festive', or did you just think that it looked festive? I like it no matter what kind it is. (or maybe it's ilex aquifolium?)

that's a strange shot... but neat
It must be 6am!
I agree. have you figured out why it's strange? (there is a reason or two)

I don't think I have ever saw a moth out in that cold... or snow before
what a postcard shot... beautiful
Thanks! I agree, I hadn't seen a moth out when it was this cold either. I sort of think that it came from the basement of the house. The hydrangea is near the basement and the person (that I was housesitting for) asked me if I would put a heater on down there. But, I don't that much about moths. The other odd part is that the picture is upside down. If I hadn't cropped out the background, the other trees and whatnot would be upside down in the picture.
great winter scene. I saved it on my desktop
If you want, i can send you the original for the desk top? thanks, glad you like it. I don't much care for how much colder and "snowier" it is up here, but the sunsets are wonderful. I just stopped in the middle of the road and hoped that no one came, there was too much snow for me to pull off anywhere :-p
good morning Jo Ann!
In the first field of snow up there.... that little thing that looks like a barn is actually an the one room school house that was built up here in the late 1800's and used until the 1940's or 50's.
is everyone warming up there finally? I talked to a friend of mine today that lives in Albany NY. She said that it was weird, it suddenly turned around and warmed up to unseasonably warm stuff and started raining.
Love the moth pic Shelly!
Thanks, good morning as well.
shelly i've wanting to ask you why you are up at 3AM all thie time? when do you sleep? nice photo's
warm yesterday - cold with rain/sleet/snow today. Chain saws work in the rain right? the hickory that fell in doing a job on the chain.
It was warm yeaterday but windy, he front came thru now its22*.
We just deal with it.
