I lost a few too. The one s that was real tiny. learned the hard way that they don't like rootign in water and they turned to mush before I could stop em. felt real bad too. Hate losign any plant.

I trying. keping my fingers crossed too. Notice d yesterday when I went out to cove them up have a coupel that have liek chew hoel sin the leaves. I have hunted adn can't find any bugs and thes ewas planted in new bag of potting soil and are up off theground on solid plastic floor. Have sevral lizards in there. Do lizards munch on the leave s ro any ideas what else it could be? The munchign is random.

Kidna like I taste d here and there, nope didn't liek that one, onyl has one tiny chew. Liked this one, has a few more chews.

What took over the chewing holes in the leaves were tiny green worms that you could hardly see. Have no idea where the worms came from, but you almost need magnifying glasses to spot them.

Put a new chip in my camera then it kept saying memory card was full. I even went back to store and the young man said the card was fine, that I had to delete the internal memory. Sounded easy to do but as usual I can make another difficult task for myself. Well, spent so much time trying to figure it out until I went on the Kodak web site and learned a few more things. Camera now ready to start taking pictures, hoping the first ones will be of my brug buds opening up.

wow star, that is alot of cuttings. I stress over the care of my eighteen you see in the pic. They are getting so big and I need to find a home for some but they aren't used to temps below 65°, so I'm afraid to put them with the Cherub and American Pride in the workshop at night where it dips into the 40's. They'd probably love being outside in the sun all day, but once they are out they get bugs and then I couldn't bring them in. So, I'll think on it some more unless someone has any ideas.

Hey ladybugs! I spent all day yesterday dismantling Christmas and putting in storage boxes, this morning was carting them out to the shed for another year. I am so glad to have it all down, now I need to give the house a good "deep scrubbing", LOL! Always feels good to put them up, even better to take them down. When I was younger I left everything up until after New Years, but the older I get I just want them down soon.

I wanted the twinkling icicle lights for my house so badly this Christmas, but at $12.95 a box it would have cost me $130.00 and I just couldn't afford it. Went to Walmart yesterday and all the Christmas lights were half price, which should have been about $6.50 each (the non-twinkling icicle lights were only $6.50 to begin with, the twinkling, twice as much. Anyhoo, I (and the checkout lady) both thought they were half off of $6.50, (didn't think about them being different from the non-twinkling) so I actually got them for $3.25 a box, woo hoo! $32.50 instead of $130.00....I know if I was an honest lady I would go back and tell them of their mistake, as neither I or the saleslady did it on purpose, but I don't think I will as I am Po folks, LOL!

Anyhow, I'll sure have a pretty house next year! I'm sorting seeds and getting ready to plant this week on the heat pad, acquiring bird and squirrel feeders and houses, and getting ready for Spring. A girl can dream, can't she? Haha! Lexi is doing terrific on her little line..She waits patiently by the door for me to hook her up to it, and doesn't pull, chew on it, or try to escape it. She is such a joy and I'm glad I worked with the problem instead of sending her back.

Hope everyone is doing wonderful and ready for the best year of our lives! I lost a dear friend this week (only 50)....He was a carpenter that framed houses and the day after Christmas he was working and fell over dead instantly from a massive heart attack. Losses of loved ones are always difficult, but his death really made me think hard on how every day can be our last so we need to be ready to meet Our Maker, love hard, and never to take a day for granted. Love you all!

Mine have been stayign out in gh that unheated and temps have gotten down into 20's out there and they stil doign fine. Whisperign that, cuz afraid somethign gonan go wrong.

I just been throwing a one mil thick piece of plastic over them at night from walmart. Ya get three big sheets for liek 3 bucks. Make sliek a gh in a gh. and crossign my fingers.

Don't know what I gonna do when the temps are cold day and night for weeks on end though.

Sorry about your friend Karen.

Star, you actually have those cuttings pictured above in a GH where the temps get to 20's? Hmmm. Have they always been in there or did you start them out in a warmer place, then move them?

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Ya they in that greenhouse and been there. I started them all i nwater on kitchen counter and let em root and then when he had first warm spell sometime in december went out and ptte dem up and they been in there ever since.

They been out there even when it was 18F outside. I don't have enough light in my trailer to keep them from losing there leaves and have piggy seeds everywhere so put them out there and they been there for weeks now through cold, frost and heat waves and artic blasts.

Got my begonias cuttings out there rooting too with them and they have survived the same conditions with having a thin extra piece of plastic inside the gh.

Great! I will start moving my bigger ones out with the Cherub and Pride. They can spend the nights in the workshop and days outside with the big girls.

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

I'd stil keep an eye on them. I brand new to brugs and have no idea of what I doing. Just hopign that what I have been readign adn with help wil keep them all alive.

But plan on mine stayign out there for whole winter .

I make sure that I cover them up by about 4 after sun has hit the hottest part of day.

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

Thanks, I can make a cozy nest for them in the workshop. I have left over plastic from the GH to put over them if I think they need it in the workshop. We heat it up to at least 60° and then it holds the temp to about 50° or so when it's freezing outside.

All the beautiful brug cuttings... I think I have managed to let most of mine die... got sick... again.. was unable to water them.. actually forgot.. did good to just feed to dogs the past few days. Anyhoo... my brug forrest now looks like a dead brug stick garden with dead leaves everywhere. I managed to drag in buckets of water from the pond today and water everything.. took several hours to find the strength. Don't know what I will be able to save. I hate living alone sometimes.

There are about 4 that look like they will survive... one maya from auntb and a couple I still have in a bubbler... it was almost dried out but got water in it just in time! It has plenty now.

Back to laying on the couch now.

Hi everyone.
Thank you Bonnie for the Brug letter. I need all the help I can get....

What beautiful begonia cuttings! They really look healthy. I have angel wing begonias I haven't taken cuttings they are so hardy and bloom like crazy.

I didn't put up many decorations this year, but it will be this weekend before I get them put back up. I really need to clean the storage area. Really need to have a garage sale if I can live with the clutter until spring.

I haven't went out to buy anything on sale this year. I have checked on the Holiday Barbie but no one has marked them down on line yet enough for me.
