She's about to.....#40 Brug Addicts Chat

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Karen.. LOL.. No hubby here, got rid of that mess quit a bit back. Gotta catch my own fishes now. Catchign them ain't the problem, gettign them off the hook aint aproblem or cleanign and guttign them, the problem is I have to put a worm on with a close pin, cuz I a gardener who afraid of worms. LOL For real. When I have to dig for worms to go fishign I use a spoon and a close pin and ya can hear me all over the neighborhood when I find one. A gal shouldn't have three brothers who loved to short sheet the bed sheets and ut worms in there, or fil the pillow case up with em and hide the worm fileld side on the bottom and ya lay down and have worms crawlign in yoru hair all night. Nope me and worms don't get along. : )

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Love ornaments I've seen so far, now I wish I had joined.....

Love the "boa" tree AuntB.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL Ella, I hear ya! Got rid of two messes off my back before I found #3 and he's a keeper! Worms, eeek! I tried raising them one year to feed my koi and they were too darned much trouble, had to keep lights on the box or they all crawled away into nothing. Bonnie, that pink boa makes your tree! How beautiful! Love it! Bonnie, actually that joke pic I posted IS an alligator gar, just an unholy large one, they are usually much smaller. Sometimes round here you have to carry a club or a sharp object to stab them with when you catch them to kill them, they fight so hard. Ella I commend you girl!!!! I gotta finish my grocery shopping today too.....And begin making the candies soon...

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Karen: LOL great pic and post ... AuntB.. love them! and love that tree!
Becky thanks back at ya, luv ya girls... Star: worms? LOL I have them here, they push out their leavings in the bottom of my big pots and I scoop them up and spread them on the brug pots LOL
Never have caught a Gar, lots of carp tho..:P
Pegi: maybe the next time? u better! *hugs* to all of you.. snow is coming and freezing rain, going to the flea market with GS to get that white shelf for 6 bucks if it is still there..
we are worried about the freeezing rain happening while our youngest daughter and friend drive 45 miles back to college dorm this evening. I will just pray for their safty as usual, since I always worry about the deer they pass on the way there. got lights up all over the garden aread here, it is sure making this ugly basement a purty one!
I adopted a child for christmas gift buying.. a three year old little girl.. got her a ruffly tutu in pinks and purples and sequins, matching shoes, and a boa with featherss! now just need a leaotard? ( I was told she likes to "dress up" )
what size do I get for a baby girl that is 3 in those does anyone know? LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

All those ornaments are so cute. Now are you all going to post a picture, and tell us how they were each done? We have such a talented bunch of girls here for sure!

Good night everyone. Sleep tight.

LK

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Talent is running amok around DG.

Rain storms in Northern Ca. so we should be getting them soon. It really was cold out today, of course when we hit 50 it's cold. Buds on brug are still on the plant and I'm hoping to see some flowers. Have no idea what color it will be so I'll be in for a surprise.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I would love to see the ornaments up close! Debra, I would probably buy a size 4 for her from a place where she can exchange if needed. My stepdaughter is always one size up for her age.

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Mornign everybody!!!!!!! See no coffee been put on, so I guess I wil brew a giant pot. Hoep evrybody safe and sound. Heard some palce s got some mroe bad weather yesterday aand today.

Wih I coudl send ya all some of this nice weather. Right now I escapign the ice storm. been up since 5 and was outside about 7:30 this morning climbing on the gh tryign to get th eleaves all off and not fall off myself. Nevr used to bother me to try and crawl on a tiny beam in the air, btu it sure is now. Been moving mum pots outside and after a coupel of month of no real yardwork, oh the back is screaming.

had to get out and water plants this morning, now watch we'll get some rain just cuz I did it.

Oh the close up of the pics are cute. : ) Hope ya get time later to show some more.

Ya ever have a cravign for something? I got a ton of yard work to do while we got a couple decent days and all I want to do is driv einto town and a McDonald double cheeseburger. I haven't had one in ions and boy do I got the cravign bad today. Just can't see wasting ten bucks in gas for a buck burger though.

Hope everybody has a good day now !

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That dollar burger is not a dollar anymore. At least not here. They are now $1.29 plus tax!!!!
How is that for inflation?

LK

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

We got a lot of rain last night, time to go out and check to see if my brugs got damaged. I need to get groceries so I hope it doesn't rain any more today. Good sleeping when it rains.

Beautiful picture Lavender, so peaceful.

Waiting for more pictures too. Such clever minds at work.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Sorry Linda Kay, don't know who Romy is, but she sent you a beautiful necklace. She must know you are a special gal.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

The only Romy I found here on Dave's lives in the UK. What a mystery!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is her real name, I don't know her DG name.
Thanks for looking. I hope she pops in here somewhere, and lets me know who she is?

Good night all

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

I'll take the snow... if it is going to be this cold at least give me something nice to look at... and some moisture to go along with it... way too dry here. I'd love some pretty snow!

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Mornign everybody. Sending warm wishe sto ya all, and wish I could send some heat to those sufferign in the cold. saw on the 5 am news this mornign how bad so much of the country is.

Coffee's ready and waffles with scrambled eggs if ya have a mind to have some breakfast.

Rainign here and think it gonna be and on and of thign all day, but wil take it to the cold and snow. Would share our warms temps with ya if I could. Bad thing abotu this warm up is now plants are gonna be sproutign again thinking it spring and when the cold snaps come again next week all the new shoots will be killed.

beign in the south with no snow, has its problems too. Ya never really get days off from gardening. Had to go out and water plants yesterday. One dya yoru watering, the next yoru covering and a few hour slater havign to race to get covers off so the plants don't get fungal diseases from to much moisture building up. Some days it a no win situtation.

be safe on the roads today everybody if ya gotta go out and hope ya all stay safe and warm.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the close ups of the ornaments. They are all so lovely. Hard to believe the tree topper is from fish scales! You are all so talented. I will have to do this next year for sure.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Good Morning Ladies.. Lovin the ornament pics, I'm really enjoying them all on my tree. It was a fun project and the waiting was fun, too. Debra I really liked your dried ornament.. I got an ocra, so pretty. Well, it's 7 degrees here, windchill makes it feel like -4.. and 2-3 inches of snow on the ground and still snowing... "walkin in a winter wonderland"... :) Ella, thanks for the java and hearty breakfast.. wrapping today.. My brugs are all snug as a bug... I do have a small space heater going for them. Louise, so glad to see your post .. it seemed funny seeing Leesburg, FL with your DG name.. even funnier thinking of you NOT being up north of me.. I hope you're settling in and all is well. Bet you aren't missing these frigid temps we're having.. No baking yesterday, I wrapped a few gifts and cleaned house. I had a little visitor... I just love little children..this is JeVay.. she's been staying with a friend for a few months and now we've all grown so attached to her.

Thumbnail by AuntB
(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

What a cutie JeVay is and love your tree.

Joeswife thanks for posting a picture of your special DG tree. I love all the homemade ornaments, and so amazed what a pretty flower fish scales made. Every one is so special!!

Pegi

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Aw.......look at that JeVay! Whatta face, Bonnie! No wonder you are attached! Just want to kiss those cheeks! I am shuffling around in my sock monkey pajamas today, still nursing that darned cold PLUS dealing with a bladder infection now. Thank God I have antibiotics and Azo Standard. I don't know how women lived before the little red pill......

Bonnie I made my cinnamon ornaments yesterday, and they still aren't pretty like yours...The tops look allright, but mine always look crummy where they sit on the cookie sheet, discolored and funny...I want them to look good on both sides like yours do, LOL! Do you put yours straight to the wire racks? Wouldn't that make rack marks on them?

Miss Lexi has definitely become one of my girls.......She is doing SO well, and is the newest baby again. New collars and tags came yesterday for all 3 so they are prancing around and showing them off. The cold weather makes them leap around everywhere! It was 75 here day before yesterday, and then dropped to 22 last night with icy rain. No wonder we are all sick!

Linda Kay did you ever find out who Romy is? I know you participate in many forums here on DG , I don't know how you keep up girl, LOL! It has to be someone from one of those forums....

Hope you are all having a great day, stay warm! Love to you!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I did. Fairy1004, (Stacey) went through ebay, and sent me the necklace. it was supposed to be a surprise, but since it was not marked, as coming from her, or ebay, I opened it.

Hello Bruggies: Just checking in again. No news on my brugs. They are resting I guess.
I am about to buy some more, but I do not want to ship during the holiday rush or they will sit in a warehouse and freeze or something. I think it best to wait until the end of the holiday rush. Logee's is having a great sale just now and it is certainly tempting. I honestly do not have much room in the greenhouse. I need to cut back some of the Jasmine....they just take over.
Christmas Tree Sales boomed over the weekend. We sold 80 trees one day and 50 each of the other two days we were open. People are coming in during the week to buy when we are closed and I am having trouble getting my work done because of that.
Your pictures are so adorable I love looking at them all. I just wish I had time to read everything more thoroughly.
I have already celebrated Christmas with my kids from PA. That happened during the past week end with all the confusion of the tree sales. It was fun and everyone helped so we could share some time together. If you want to see the little snow we had and our new tree team check out the website www.rob-lynfarm.com and see some of the 2008 pictures. There will be more coming later. Have a great day. JB

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, JB. Sounds like you have been really busy. Selling trees, and celebrating an early Christmas!
Going now to look at your pictures.
I was not able to click on anything. Was wondering what a cemetary cone is?
