Jayle is very pretty. unique!

Good M o r n i n g Sistahs!!

Better keep some sort of routine! LOL drop DD off to school, hightale it back to coffee and DG!! heheh.
Hey Kim, I love that you add mushrooms to your Shephards pie, sounds scrumtious...LOL, think I will make some for dinner tonight.

Oh I have had so much fun reading about you all.

So...Here is the story of how DH and I met.
I had just gotten my first apartment when I was 19...I was in the Foster system so signed my self out and finished HS, got my own place.
Anyhow in the the home, I was not allowed to even look at a guy let alone have a boyfriend. LOL.
So, When I got a place, decided to have a party. I invited a girl that I was best friends with for three years. we had a falling out and didn't talk for a summer. Anyway I invited her and she asked if she could invite a couple of guys she knew. I said yeah as long as they are cool and don't make trouble.
So Steve and his buddy came very late in the evening. They were Magazine sales men at the time.
Steve wasn't real fond of this girl but she was his Sister's good friend at school. LOL, she had a major crush on Steve.
She told Steve about me, how I had my own place and that I am Native American. What? he says, Well I'll try and come because i never met an Indian!! So that is why he came. Now back then I was a tiny thing, like about 95 lbs soaking wet! Ahhh those were the days, lol. My aptment had those radiators that kept my lil place really hot..So I always had shorts and a t'shirt on. Well, for me it was Love at first sight. Everybody left the party and he and i sat up till wee hours of morning. Talking about everything.
He asked if he could pick me up from school and i said sure. He drove a white Grand Prix, nice ride! So pretty soon, we were going steady. We were on and off together for 4 and half years before we got married...He introduced me to alot of new stuff, camping, traveling everything I wanted to do he made it happen. LOL, I was getting spoiled by the minute and loving it and him with each day.
Well one day soon after I turned 20 he said he had something very serious to talk to me about. OK, So he picked me up, I was nervous, thought he wanted to break up, so forgot my id. So he took me to a bowling alley...(we used to be on legue) where we knew i could be served. Sat at the table with pizza and Miller and he goes into this long rendition of life and how he likes to live and be. Finally he says so, will you marry me? LOL, I burst into tears and said yes. We celebrated on and on...This coming year will be 24 years!!
Steve is my night in shining Armor! He saved me from alot of things...Helped me finish high school, was ready to quit. LOL he would drop me at the door and make sure I walked through the doors...When i graduated he took me to Wisconsin to meet my family!! Brave soul that he is. Together we met my entire family on the rez. LOL, I am the fourth Daughter of 8 kids. Mumma had to come and gas us up! And...the rest is history.

My Mumma's Name Alberta Jean Her mom was Margaret and her Dad was Eli.
My Father, Was Samual, Lil Sam his father was Samual too. Not sure what his mom's name was I only knew her as Grandma Babe.
We all have nicknames too, and I am Judy Babe, now just Babe. Granny was upset that no one was named after her so I was named after my Aunti and granny.

LOL, saw all kinds of J names but not a
Judy! heheh.

Ok got to start on the apron!

So nice to sit and read leisure like...More coffee anyone?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Ok, LK, that's only fair! Your list included 'Jaylene' which had 'Jayle' within the name - so you were the closest! You win the 2nd prize! Whoooo Hooooooo! Congrats LK!!!!!!

Sistahs, it's never dull out here in the country. Just call me Kathy junior. Woody and Holli kept barking so I went out to see. They are fenced in and were barking at something toward the pond and I could see some rippling in the water. A minute later, a coyote came around the edge of the pond (I can't see the dock and the far corner of the pond from the house). Here I am, still in my bathrobe and it's 29 degrees outside ..... I get the bolt action rifle and head out to the pond, creeping up the little hill to see over it. There's a poor deer in the pond! It had gotten in the pond to get away from the coyote and there's no telling how long it have been held at bay there cause the dogs had been barking a long time. Unfortunately, there was not a shell in the chamber when I pulled the trigger and when the coyote heard the 'click' he saw me and started running. By the time I used the bolt to load a shell he was gone. The poor deer swam to shore but stood there for a long time exhausted and not sure what to do. I talked to her in a soothing voice and told her I'm not there to hurt her, but was there to kill the coyote. She eventually ran off but was exhausted. I'm fearful the coyote may have followed her and gotten his prey after all since she was so tired. She would have drowned soon for sure if she stayed in the near freezing pond. That's my excitement for today! Hey, Kathy, want to come sit with me on the back porch and shoot coyotes?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I love hearing all of the "how we met" stories! Very heartwarming! Also enjoy seeing the old pictures. Kim, you are quite the baker/cook! I don't know how you get it all done.

Debra, your brother and father are dufusses! Can't believe they would do that. Anywhooo, glad you finally broke the suspense. Your middle name is very pretty.

Have a lovely Friday, everyone!

I have to tell you gals I have won two guns so far never shoot them and I do have a 4-10 I have shot that
There was a partridge in the yard so I thought Oh thats easy I can do it What a mistake I shot its wing I shot its leg and it was still hopping
I started to cry and called a friend to shoot it but we looked for an hour and couldn't find it But you should now how hard it to fine a chicken in a tree So I never shot again and I am saving the guns for my retirerment.
I was going to put a picture up but than thought again I do have a Winchester 70 w/ scope and I can hardly pick that baby up its so heavy

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Poor Kim! I know exactly how you felt. I used to dove hunt and sometimes they would be wounded but not dead. I wanted to put them out of their misery as fast as possible but could never bring myself to wring their necks the way hunters do. And shooting them with a shotgun at that close distance would just blow them to smithereens. I'd pick them up and run to DH as fast as possible yelling hurry, hurry!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Judy-I would love to see a photo of you and your DH when you got married:) What a lovely story!! ONe of these days wehn I have time to write a small novela, I will tell you mine:)

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Hey I can see the two Granny Clampets on the porch with rifles aimed at coyotes! Waaahaa Debra and Kathy gun weilding mamas! BJ you termed them but good!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

BJ are you sure we will be safe next May with 2 Granny Clampetts? The poor things around your lake--hope the run for cover.

Would you believe it, my dad was a marksman for Winchester in the early 1900's but I had no clue how to shoot a gun until I married? He didn't teach any of his children. My son has his skeet and trap guns that were custom made for him--standing family joke was he could see his mother before he sold those guns! Nice kid.

Kathy how are you feeling?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Hi Deborah, how goes it?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

BTW, have any of you looked at the 2009 calanders by Daves garden? I ordered some for presents to my friends in G'ville. They are the photo winners and really, really nice.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Someday I'll tell how Don and I met too... but no time this morning.
I'm trying to get this rag quilt off my work table so I can get it in the mail and move on to another project... PLUS... son #3 spent the night last night to do his laundry... He's almost done, and needs to go to the gro store before taking him home...
Don called me three times this morn from the airport... *ugh* he got there way too early this morning expecting more traffic than what really happened.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Morning everyone.....had to check in and catch up on the stories, and see if Certain Parties Have Posted Their Likes and Dislikes on the other thread yet....SHE HAS NOT! So if yu are the guilty party, Please get to typing?

It's Curves this morning so need to get the dog out for her walk before my MIL shows up... Later!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good day my sistahs and ehem ms Stacey :D
You read Trisha's plea.. pease try to post your likes on the proper thread so you won't get the wrong stuff for your swap.
Debra, I can't believe your middle name is just one alphabet more than mine. A lot of time, I get people copying down my name and forget the "E" at the end. Have to tell them that the "E" is a must, as it stands for Excellence, Extraordinary, Esteemed.... and most of the times Erratic!!
Lucky you Susan!! I know precisely where I'd be spending that $1,000!
Marion and Janice will sure agree!!
BJ, we're hoping you can keep on eating whatever you want without fear of pain.
BRB, time for my shots.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

So good to see you post Trisha, I usally catch just before bedtime. How is the weather on that coast?

Well I just got my Saturday evening planned for me!! Oh sure pain, such torture, such fun--I get to baby sit the GS tomorrow night. Can't you tell it really bothers me. LOL

BJ, I can understand wanting to get the rag quilt finished!! Just remember to post a pic please.

Modest are we Jaye? ROFLOL You are all of that and more!!!!!!!

I know I saw Deborah here earlier. Are you doing okay? How is Aunt Lisa?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Just thought I would send Chrismtas greeting from my Mau to all the kitties and kitty lovers here.

Marion your kitty has the prettiest green eyes. What is that that you are working on in the background? It's very pretty

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I'm getting ALL of my candles together Some people are coming to buy some yippee

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

It is a Christmas quilt that I had put together from blocks I received in a Christmas swap in Gainesville. That is the one I took to Palestine with me to work on that got so much attention--they don't do (atleast when I was there) much quilting and of course having a lot of black and red in it. Their colors.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Judy tell us about your white buckskin wedding attaire! You left that out! wedding pix????
Don't forget the 26th, my house! I'll leave the light on for ya.

Marion, I'm ok. Got 3 legal sheets of paper written up on that wrench of a caregiver. She's employed by the nursing home with rules she follows from Hospice. One of them is to also be considerate of the family of the patient. They are going through a depression too. Maybe I need to copy that part out of the pamblet and let her read it. She hurt my feelings and ticked me off too. My aunt's husband is filing a complaint about that incident.

Your cat's eyes are the greenest cat eyes I've ever seen! Beautiful!
