I had a blast reading all the notes above and will just add a short one myself. I met my DH in an AOL chat room ten years ago; after several months of emailing and talking on the phone, we met for the first time. We then moved in together not too long after and we'll be celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary next May. It took him that long to convince me that marrying again would be a good thing. And he was right!
"Things always happen for a reason" is something I most firmly believe in!

Here's a picture from 1944.. my mom and dad, who are now together again.. in heaven. I lost my mom a year ago last month. She was 16 years younger than my dad. They married when she was 22 and he was 38. He was 47 when I was born and 52 when my sister was born LOL... enough said!

Oh, Yea... Gardening... sheesh, this is a gardening site...

Yes, I work full time.. I do a 10 hr, 4 day workweek with Friday's off.. supposedly LOL.. I do a lot of OT right now. I love what I do, so I'm a lucky lady! I'm a reporting specialist in the banking industry. (Now that I've bored you to death with that!)

I do scrapbooking..that's my "crafting" expertise. My mom could knit, crochet, tat, sewing, and on and on.. I couldn't do any of it LOL.. That poor woman tried and tried to teach me.. but a right handed person trying to teach a leftie.. I just couldn't grasp it.
I love to feed the wild birds and I'm an amateur photographer :) So be very careful about asking for photos LOL!! I'm an avid reader, but have gone to subscribing magazines instead of books out of lack of time. And then I found myself with subscriptions to around 10 magazines! So I really didn't save myself time, but I do love the bird and gardening magazines. Backyard Living is a great one and Birds and Bloom is my ultimate favorite (subscribed for about 9 years now)

I have two kids.. son is a district manager for Lowe's with around 21 stores now and daughter is in quality assurance for a food processing factory. Both in Iowa :( If they could do away with the FEET of snow that they get and make winter about 4 months shorter, I'd move back there in a heartbeat! ^_^

Welcome Chris, glad to have you in the group. Yes were sometimes get carried away and are a "wee" bit nutty but loveable. Aren't we sistahs? Sounds like you have an interesting if not tedious job. Don't worry about finding extra time to do things, Jaye will show you how. She is the greatest for doing that.

Oh how cute are all these pictures... I will have to find some of mine also... Brings back so many good memories... Taking care of my mother was a returned favor as she could have left us as my sperm donor did but she did not... So I did it with love... I promised her I would never put her in a nursing home, a promise that almost broke me... The only wish I could not do was she wanted to die at home... I had 4 young boys and the oldest was not taking very well... When she passed he was not doing very well and I have to say we had a very good pedi doctor and we had made her a bedroom downstairs and one night I found him crying in her room so that next morning him and I took a hammer and took our grief out on the wall and opened up the wall again... Hubby came home and said wow you were busy today...LOL Is why we moved South because Mom was in the house from the day it was finished being built and my first son being born a week later... To much for the both us so we left to make new memories... It worked... I miss her to this day...
I had a very good night at my sons... Nice and quiet and just nice... So I am off to bed and hope to get up early so I can wrap a few things and ship them.....

I.m seasonal and work during the summer spring and fall and just got layed off Last Wednesday so I have been restting I live by my self so most of the time I get fast food so I have been cooking sweets alot trying to fatten up here

I am going up to help my Dad this weekend so I am as we type am making a Sheapders (SP) Pie wish I could spoell But I doctor it up with My Potato I add Cream cheese and Chive and sour cream in the potato and mushoom in the meat so I won't have to cook may eat it Saturday Cause there is a great Fish place Called the village supper club and might make my dad take us out for dinner

Well, it is 32 degrees here, so I just went out to see if any plants were frozen, and so far, they all look ok. Whew! I am not ready to cut back my angel trumpets, but will if I have to.
Glad your going to see your Dad this week-end. Sounds like you have a nice plan going on there. You have a great visit with him, and have a wonderful time. I know he will love your shephards pie! It sounds really good. Make sure you post that on the recipe link for us?

Feeling fine here, LK... ate beef for the first time in weeks day before yesterday and again yesterday... no problem... it's stranger than fiction what's going on with me... still scratching my head about it. But, not complaining, because it seems to be over.

Tante Jaye-I swear they do, they just must not sell them oin the internet-I was w/ mom when she got them..like I said See's is also wonderful-when you go in there, they let you sample to your hearts content B4 you buy anything-now that is AWESOME!!! Depending on who is working, sometimes you don't even ask for a sample-they just shove it at you!!LOL

Well, I don't have any pics of my mom & dad (aka-sperm donor) as they were never married-when he found out she was preggers, he wanted her to have an abortion and she said NO WAY!! He has popped into my life when it is convenient for him and I have a 1/2 brother & sister by him, but haven't really seen them in about 10 yrs:(

Hi there Susan its cold here its 14 when I got up have no idea what the wind chill is here I was so lazy and cold yesterday I didn't even bring in my garabage can back up to the house when I go out today I will bring them to the house. Put that repice for Shephard pie on the other thread.
Going to my Dad today I am waitting for the post man they say I have a box comming and being so cold and have no idea what it is I will wait Hope he is here by 10
My dad has a computer up there but he has dial up but I will be on to bug you guy. no picture from there I will bring them home and do it

Good morning chocolate lov'n sistahs! I didn't intend to leave you hanging but got sidetracked last night - in a good way. (Judy (seedtosser) called and we yakked a while until DH was giving me the evil eye. He was hungry!) I will admit getting lots of laughs out of the guessing. BJ, something tells me you and I are a lot alike. I like a challenge - put it in front of me and I'll work my butt off to meet the challenge even if the end result isn't anything of interest to me. LOL!

It's interesting a couple of you mentioned 'sperm donors' as I was telling Judy last night about my parents divorcing when I was in 2nd grade. My father moved out of state and never contacted us or paid child support. When I was 21 years old and waiting tables in a restaurant, my brother and an older man came in and sat in my section. (funny back story - I'd been thinking my brother might be gay for a couple of years before that and my thought was 'Yep, this older man is his gay lover and he's here to tell me') When I take their order my brother doesn't introduce us, doesn't say anything about his 'friend'. After walking away from the table he followed me and asked if I knew who that was. I'm getting a little ticked by now (my brother can be a dufuss sometimes) and said 'No, I was wondering if you were going to introduce him'. He said, 'It's your father'! Geesh, see what I mean about him being a dufuss?! Here I am at work and walk up to talk to a man and find out he's my father I haven't seen or heard from in about 15 years. Let me back up - they were both dufusses for pulling a stunt like that.

Oh Tinky, sounds just like this house!!! Kim left all her beadworks down with the lids snapped shut but when they were knocked off the table--yeap you guessed it!!!! Aren't cats wonderful? You and Janice be extremely careful on your trip!!! Bake me some cookies please--oh to be close enough to do that!! Lucky ladies.

Kim, you to be careful traveling to your Dads!! I am sure he will love the Shepard's Pie--who wouldn't but the idea of seafood sounds good also. Hummm, wonder if I can.......
