Telling us how you and Ross met.

Well, my ex is 15 years older than me. I was his slave :(

Accompanied BFF and her husband when they decided to visit an aunt in Myrtle Beach, SC. I begged to go to the local Barnes and Nobles wanting to see whether it has a larger music department than the one in Louisiana. It was a disappointment, but there was Kel!! It took him 6 months via internet..phone to convince me that I should give him a chance. I had sworn off men one month before I met him. Told the Lord, He has to pick the next one!
Kel is 11 years younger than me. I'm his sweetheart!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Duh!!! Dumb me! I wouldn't say Dad's saying applies to you Jaye. He referred to marrying some one the same age. Oops!! did I goof!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

JAYE!!!! Do you really have 10 cats????????????????????

I thought I had a lot with 3!!!!

If you have 10 cats, how many litter boxes do you have?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

She is a rank beginner Joyce!!! My sister has 28!!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

HOLY CRAP-28??? THat is WAY too many:( Sorry Auntie M, but that is a lot...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Met Bill at our Church Youth Group meetings..........he came in and walked across the room and I told my best friend that "I get that one"!.....I was 15, he was 16.....she tried to get him but......we got married right after I turned 18....that was 39 years ago.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

No problem--understand why it is so painful going down there? I keep saying that but..............

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You didn't goof Marion. That's what my late parents believed too when they met my ex. They were happy for me.
But Kel has an older soul.

Joyce, I use the Multi Cat Kitty Litter :D 5 litter boxes, all disposable!
Don't think we'll be having more, they are all neutered and spayed. Unless Kel picks up more strays.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Trisha, so glad you said how old you were when you married. Everyone always looks at me like I am crazy when I say I was 19. I just knew a good man when I met one and I guess you did too.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

OH Jaye a nicer way to put that is they have zippers!!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

They all said it wouldn't last a year........I tell everyone it would take too long to train a new one and his comment is that I didn't do a very good job of training this one.....lol.....I gripe a lot buthe's a good one and I will keep him!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Understand that!!! Just wish I could have kept mine longer but alas it wasn't to be. Just grateful for the time I had him, 2 great children (atleast I think so) and 2 beautiful but spicy granddaughters. I am blessed!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I know how you feel Marion. My late husband Francis, we met when I was 19 he was 17 we dated off and on for 22 years before we married. He married twice and me 1 in those 22 years. He was killed 4 days befor our 8th anniversary.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I was the one who asked for all of us to post pix of our trees, right? O.K. so here is mine and I haven't finished decorating it yet, but I like it just the way it is. What do you all think more ornaments or not?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, I like the sahpe of your tree. Very nice. Ornaments all depend on your likes. We like lots of lights, and ornaments here.
LK

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Thank Yo LK, it's fake. I picked it up at K-Mart for $40 a few years ago when I worked there. I have more butterflies to put on it.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

It's Christmas!! Don't hold back Cindy!!
Wait... I don't even have a Christmas tree.. :D

Hey Niece, Ethel doesn't have any sugar free choccies.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I love reading about how all of you met your DH or SO...

I love to remember the story about how my mom and dad met. Mom wasn't the "beauty" of the family... sort of homely, and large and boney. She was already 24 years old in 1945 and figured she'd never marry. She was working as a waitress at a diner. This diner had rooms to rent upstairs.
My dad was 36 years old... a real attractive man... fresh out of the Army after serving 14 years. He arrived in Houston with $7 in his pocket, and rented a room over the diner, with the agreement that he would sweep and mop the floors every night after closing in exchange his dinner meal.
His first dinner at the diner, mom waited on him... she remembered he ordered a glass of milk, and 4 slices of white bread... he broke the bread up in his glass of milk and ate it with a spoon. That just intrigued the day lights out of my mom. She waited on him every night for almost a month, and he flirted with her every night. After he found a job, and got his first paycheck, he asked her out. They married 3 months later, just before Christmas... yep, they lived in his apartment above the diner for the first year, until my sister was born 2 days after their 1st anniversary.

Edited to correct the date to 1945... I knew that didn't sound right for some reason.

Well jaye, the thing is I don't get any help decorating or undecorating. So the less I put on the less I have to take off lol

Man I wished we would have done an Home Made Ornament swap. That would be so cool to have ornaments from our Dear Sistahs each year.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

AH A Christmas Romance! My daughter was married (her 1st) Dec 17th. It was small planned it in a week, made her dress in 3 days (maternity style she was 7 months along)but so pretty.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Oh Cindy...beautiful tree and Yes!!!!!! A home made ornament swap would be great!!!!

Happy to hear I am not the only one who has to do all the Decorating and Undecorating by myself!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Food drew them together.. that's a lovely story, BJ.

My mum had to sell food to help out the family after the war. She was 15.. covered a pretty area selling home made meat pies. Dad spotted her and bought a meat pie. The next few days, he'll wait for her along her route and bought more meat pies.
Then finding out who her parents were, he sent his mum to her parents, asking her hand in marriage. Those were the old days.
She was 15, and him 21.

I had shown this before, but for my new sistahs. Here they are..

They look like small children, like 11 or 12

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Mum had me when she's 16. They both didn't know what it's like to have a childhood. How wars can damage kids.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Incredible picture, Jaye... I love those old photos...
Yep... the war made kids grow up fast back then.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I love looking at old black and white pix BJ. Luckily, my little brother emailed a whole bunch of old memories.
This was mum, carrying child # 3. She had matured more.

Share some black and whites with me, if you have any BJ.

My noisemaker's home.. so catch you all later.

I have tons of old b & w photos... but I don't know how to use my scanner...

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

What type of scanner do you have?

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Hello Sistah's ^_^
Well work is finally over for this week and I have to say I am glad...Body hurts like the dickens today...
I am sorry that the people at the rehab center treated Lisa that way... I am a person who tends to my family when in the hospital starting with my Mom years ago.... I would go everyday in cloths and change when I got there into my bathing suit as back then they did not have showers in every room so I would wheel her down to the showers and bath my mother so I knew she was clean... Also fed her so I knew she ate... They loved me as they just had to do the basics for her... I can remember the older men telling me I was the best thing they seen that day... Poor blind men...LOLOL Now on the other hand no one gives me lip or tells me what is what... One time we had to go to a different hospital that was closer and it was in my Mom's best interest to get to that one faster... So they were trying to stabilize her breathing and other things and she kept telling me there was no air coming out of the nose piece for oxagen... Well I called the nurse and this mean so and so came in and said WHAT??? I said she is not getting air... she checked the wall mount and said YES SHE IS..... She left... I then got a cup of water and put the nose piece into it and no bubbles coming out... Well I went to the nurses station and told her to call her supervisor or I would make a very big stink right there and then... I told HER to meet me in my mothers room when the higher up person came well she gave me lip and I told her to shut her mouth or I would sue the crap out of her... Well about 5 mins. went buy and next thing I know here is miss snot and head nurse... She then said they are complaining about no air coming out and I checked it and it is working... I told her to check it again in front of the head nurse well she was smug and said see it is working.... I said if you look at what you are doing you will see that the one in the wall is not hooked up to my mothers nose and if she had taken the time to really look she would have found this and not me... Also my mother would be breathing better by now.... I then told the head nurse that this nurse was not to come to my mothers room again... Sorry so long but I found out the nurse got a week off work without pay for her mistake... Now I would never have said or did what I did but she was a big snot and she got what she gave.... So give them heck if they are doing wrong...
I am going over my sons house now as his wife is working tonight (she is a nurse LOLOL) and he wants to watch a movie with his mommy...LOLOL My head is killing me so I told him I will not be much company but he said that is ok...
So ladies I am going now that I chewed your ears off... I will either post later or in the morning.... I have to go to the post office to mail a few packages out... If I get there tomorrow great if not Sat...
Hugs to you all,
Susan

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LK, it's a 4 in 1 Brother copier, printer, fax, scanner thing... we've had it about 2 years, and got our first fax on it week before last... didn't even think that part was hooked up. We use it for a copier and printer mostly. Someday, I'll learn to use the scan feature.

Yep, Susan... that sounds like what mom went through with my g'ma... and so much more... it was an everyday battle with those nurses.
THANK GOD my mom was in her right mind, and helped me take care of her the best she could... and Hospice came in 3 days a week... or I would never have been able to take care of her at home...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello everyone, Susan sorry to hear you are getting some satifaction, but I would still talk to a lawyer.
Love all the old photos. Ealier this year, my sister sent me all of my Mothers pictures, and I scanned them one a time, and saved them to cd for everyone. More than 1500 pictures took me about 4 months to scan. That was a job. Just took time.
No luck with my comtuer restore, and so far no luck in finding a restore disc. I was told that no one gets a restore disc anymore, and they are all comuter specific, so I am waiting on sony support to email me back!!! So frustrating!

Whew! Busy day! First stop was the vet to pick up Woody's meds, then on to the doctors office for annual physical and bone density test. It was crazy there - sick people every where! Ewwww! They were way behind and I was late getting out of there. Yep, bones got a little worse since last year. I'm borderline osteoporosis. Then had a 2 hr lunch with a friend. She replaced me at my old job a couple of years ago. I could only take 2 years before leaving -she's hit that 2 year mark herself. Then errands all over - got home around 4pm. Took me this long to read these threads!

Love the photos! Wish I had a scanner. Jaye, I see where you get your looks. Your mom was beautiful.

Brenda, that's such a sweet story. (hint to sistahs - Tony is HOT)

Kathy, listen to your sistahs!!! Your health is more important than a chicken. I know, I know, they are so cute and fuzzy, but you have to take care of yourself!

Stacey, I laughed so hard at your Jalepeno guess.

Ok, I will say this ....... no one has guessed my middle name, but ........ one of the long lists has the name within another name. There is still a box of chocolates riding on this.
