Here's a recipe I thought y'all would enjoy!

***Christmas Tequila Cookies***


1 cup dark brown sugar 1 cup (two sticks) butter
1 cup granulated sugar

4 large eggs
2 cups dried fruit (dried cranberries or raisins)
1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
2 cups all purpose flour
1 liter bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila (silver or gold, as desired)




First, sample the Cuervo to check quality.
Take a large bowl.

Check the Cuervo to be sure It is of the highest quality.
Pour another 4 ounces in a measuring cup and drink.
Turn on the electric mixer.
Beat one cup of the butter in a large fluffy bowl.
Add one teaspoon sugar. Beat again.
At this point, it is best to make sure the Cuervo is still OK.

Try another 4 ounces, just in case.
Turn off the mixerer thingy.
Break two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the
cup of dried fruit, picking the fruit off the floor.

Mix on the turner.
If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a
screwdriver. Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity.
Next, sift 2 cups of salt or shomething.
Check the Jose Cuervo by sympplling thee botttleee.
Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.
Add one table.
Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you canfind.

Greash the oven.
Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over.
Don't forget to beat off the turner.
Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the
Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the dishwasher.

Yes Sharon, I am on medication. Funny thing is our daughter, who's now 25 (how in h e double toothpicks did that happen??), was born with NO thyroid gland at all. We almost lost her before she was even 2 weeks old. She saw a pediatric Endocrinologist for the first 19 yrs of her life. You'd think they notice me, wouldn't you? I gained a good 80lbs also. I HAD lost it all, but now with everything else going on and my not being able to do anything that involved moving much at all, add into that good 'ol menOpause, well, about 20lbs have found their way back onto my body. sigh. We have a Total Gym, but everything you do on the dang thing requires you to use your arms to some extent. I can't use my right arm like that at all. There's something behind me, not a Curves, but something else I can't remember. pepper's brain fart came to IL. It's too dark for me to see the sign and I can't think of the name of the joint for anything. Everything costs too much $$$ and we just can't afford anymore bills. I thought maybe I could find it in the phone book, not, on line perhaps, not. I did find something interesting, but I probably can't say it in here. Oh well, every state has the lists of these people, just never dreamed it would be my HS Government teachers kid. You never know, do you? Oh yea, before I was even on the Levothyroxine, everybody called me the energizer bunny. I kept going and going and going and going...lol. I only dream of those times now :(

We only have the front banister to put the iced evergreen garland thingy's left to put on. I went thru so much of my Christmas decorations and I tossed about 3/4's of it. Have a ton of tree decorations that can go away too. My best friend and my mom have a habit of giving me cutesy country stuff and I don't like it. Never did, but hey it was free☺ I think after about 10 yrs of having it, I can finally get rid of it and not feel any guilt. I like antiques, not cutesy country stuff. We're also going to go to Oakbrook, a 'burb of Chicago Fri. I love the mall there. Now to buy actual Christmas presents and not come home with everything for me! LOL

Well, I think I've been on the computer an hour or so. Better go.

I always find stuff for me! I can't help it!

So I bought Dave's Christmas present on Ebay and had it shipped to my work so he wouldn't see it. It came, but for some reason I never thought of the weight of it, or the size of the box, and I also thought it would come in the original shipping box even though the guy said it was a floor model and he didn't have the box, but he took great pictures of every piece (it's a 10 piece cookware set) so I knew that. Anyway I had one of the guys carry it down to my car for me. I figured when I got home it could just stay in my car until he left for work, then I would bring it in and wrap it. This box is huge, and it weighs about 70 pounds. Well, when Dave left for work I went out to the garage to get it out of my car, and realized I couldn't make it up the steps into the house, so I had to ask Dave to get it out of my car and bring it in when he got home that morning. So here he is, carrying his Christmas present in and I'm telling him it's not his and I forgot that I had his Christmas present shipped to work last year and forgot to change the default address back to the house. I don't think he bought it, so I have some boxes stashed in my closet. So when he leaves for work tonight (lol) I'm going to take it out of the big box and put that somewhere... and separate the pots and pans into two smaller boxes, and wrap those. Do you think he'll figure it out, just as long as he doesn't see the big box? The big box can go back in my car and back to work.

He may or may not figure it out. Maybe do 3 boxes.

LOL terry!! I'm more than happy to pass the brain farts along to you. I get too many as it is.

I keep applying at places but so far nothing. I really hate it. Still gotta email that ranch too. My dad was home all day today so I forgot about it til a little while ago.

Oh dear!

Darrell is at MILs again. Has been for 3 hrs. Her finances are a mess. There is in-fighting going on and one sister decided to take matters into her own hands and called a hospice group. I think MIL thinks they're trying to put her in a care center or something.

She also called another sister and told her about something D and his brother found at the bank. There was a CD there in MILs and the other sister's name. $25,000. Nobody knew about it, including MIL. The first sister called the second sister and told her of an overheard conversation regarding this CD. So...3rd person heresay and she passes it on without batting an eye. Darrell got a call from 2nd sis and gets confronted about it. She said she had no idea it was there and didn't want anyone mad at her. Darrell told her he was goung to talk to her about it but had wanted to do it in private. He never had the chance. It should have been handled quietly.

My question is...if this girl knew nothing of it, why have the bank statements never been delivered to the house? If they were, where did they go? Darrell found one statement fro mlast July and nothing else.

There's more but I dont want to get caught telling. LOL I laugh but I'm so mad right now at the first sister. She causes nothing but trouble. She's Darrell's twin and I always tell him he got all the brain cells.

I sent the email finally just a few minutes ago. I had to ask mom how to word it without sounding desperate. LOL

Celia, just grab a bullhorn and use it on the sister. When you are done venting, turn around and leave. LOL

I'm going to try calling him again and make sure he's not been arrested for killing one of them. THAT is how made he was today.

LOL!! Hey I have several in my family who wear hearing aids including me. I have new ones on now that I really hate. They are digital and supposedly *great hearing aids*. I don't hear like a normal person so they aren't great to me. I want to drown em. LOL. I won't though.

A 3rd sister showed up (there's 5) and all H-E- double toothpicks broke loose! BAAAAAAD!!!

Good grief, what a mess. That definitely should have been handled quietly. That's horrible, I don't blame him for getting mad, but he doesn't need to go to jail LOL

No, he's on his way home and I need to re-heat his dinner. Suffice to say...The 1st sister is blaming everyone else for her faults, the 2nd sister is feeling bad and may have done something that she will NEVER confess to now, the 3rd sister thinks she's in charge 'cuz she's the oldest and has contributed the LEAST in all of this.

I may tell the whole story tomorrow. I'm tired just listening on the phone! LOL

Crissy – LOL! I did that one time with a friend of mine. I had pre-bought the gift and had it wrapped, then my friend and I went into the store (I wasn’t expecting to go in) and I bought some stuff. Rana gave me the gift and I couldn’t carry so I had my friend carry her own gift to my car. She laughed when I gave it to her at the gift exchange “You made me carry my own present?”!! Put the gift in 10 individual boxes – that would be funny!

Celia – Nothing like family huh? Y’all have a “downright mess” (as my granny used to say) going on there. Put on your listening face – support Darrell – I wouldn’t say anything to the sisters – let him take charge. That’s what I do when Jeff’s family start issues. But call us if you need help with digging holes (wink wink)! I have 3 shovels... :)

I have 2 shovels but the handle is broke on one so it's not usuable. LOLOL

Here's what I dealt with yesterday, it's funny now that I look back on it:

I had a dentist appt for a cleaning, and I have 2 cavities from last year I didn't have insurance so couldn't afford to fill them, plus I have 2 more cavities under fillings that a dentist in CA did, and I need my front tooth fixed again. So I go to make appts and they don't do fillings in the early morning and later afternoon, so I had to make my appts at 11:00am, which puts me out all day. So I have 3 days sick leave and need 3 of these mid day appts, so I hope I don't get sick. I handed her my dental insurance card and she said she already had it. Dave was in a few weeks ago so I thought she was just going to take the info off of his card since it's through his company. I told her that the insurance had changed since I was in last and she still insisited that she had it. I told her to make a copy of the card anyway. By the time I got to work the receptionist had called, so I called her back, and she said she didn't have my dental insurance information. No #*&%@ Shirlock! I told her that Dave should have given him his card when he was in, she said he didn't give it to her (meaning she didn't ask for it, just like she wasn't going to take my card) and she said she billed the insurance that was on file. I told her I work for the State and they cancelled the dental insurance at the beginning of this year (like a year ago.) She said she knew I worked for the State and they had cancelled the insurance. I guess she didn't put two and two together. I told her the old insurance probably isn't going to pay.

So I get to work and the other secretary was in a bad mood and I was in a bad mood, I thought we were going to go to blows! I got in at 11:30. She went to lunch shortly after I got there and I had to go to the back of the office while she was gone. About 10 minutes after she came back she said, "Christine, I had copies sitting on the copy machine, do you know what happened to them?" I told her I didn't see anyone but I was in the back for a bit." She said kinda snotty, "So you didn't see anyone take my copies of my legal manual." I said, "No I didn't." She got loud and said, "So what you're telling me is that you don't know what happened to my manual." I got mad and spun around in my chair and said, "Why would I take your legal manual?" Then she yelled, "I'm not saying that!!! I just want to know where my manual went!" I told her, and I'm sure I wasn't quiet, "You asked, I gave you the answer, and you've second guessed me twice now. Do we have a communication problem?" She shut up and started asking everyone if they had her copies, she found them. She left them on the return tray and when someone came up to make copies they took all of hers with it. LOL!!

She hasn't said too much to me today.

Good morning! I say good morning for no other reason than las night was a disaster!

Darrell had everything straightened out between the sisters until this 3rd one showed up. (This is the same one who took over at the hospital and was making things worse there.) Then she starts the trouble all over again! She wants to know why isues haven't been dealt with, why no one contacts her cause she has questions by golly! Darrell asked what Qs she had. SHe says Does so and so in NC have a CD in mom's bank? THAT'S her question? SHEESH!!! These people can't seem to focus on the REAL problem and that is getting MILs health up so she feels better! Idiots!

Sorry, I'm still mad. After the 1st sister got home the first thing she did was call sister #2. (The one accused of stealing MILs money. Or attempting it.) Now they're all mad at DARRELL like it's all HIS fault! No one seemed to realize (except D) that MIL was laying on the couch RIGHT THERE and could hear everything. He tried but no one cared about all his efforts. All they are concerned about, seems to me, is the money.

After he got done telling the story and repeating it, he said "I hate my family." My jaw dropped! Darrell doesn't hate ANYONE! He has to go to a 4th! sister house today after work and see if she'll come visit her mother. There has been a rift between them for awhile caused by...? You guessed it, sister #1.

Anyway, I need to shake this off and see what I can get done today. My niece and I are going to vist my DD on Saturday. take her some stuff and Xmas gifts. Yea!

Celia - Sounds to me that sisters 1,2 & 3 are all after the cash. Sister #1 needs to take a flying leap. I feel for you. You are in a tough position.

#1 - is jealous of the rest. That is why she causes all the trouble. She wants attention and the only way to get it (in her mind) is to start trouble. All the focus is on her- good or bad - she doesn't care which.

#2 - sounds like she was being sneaky with the money (missing bank statements). The only reason she fessed up is because she was going to get caught.

I don't have enough info on 3, but if she didn't care enough that MIL can hear everthing - then she is just as guilty of being money hungry.

Hmmm - Paging Dr. Sharona! LOL! That's my take on the situation. I hope #4 has enough sense to talk to MIL. Blessings to you and Darrell for having to deal with this. Put this crap aside and have fun with your DD :)

I would just go have fun but I'm sure I'll be thinking of poor Darrell all alone and brooding.

Sister #1 is just stupid and doesn't think beyond her nose. She THINKS she's doing the right thing but always starts crying and wonders why everyone thinks she's stupid!

Sister #2 has always been money hungry and has "borrowed" about $15,000 from MIL in the last 3 years. She spent WAY beyond her means during her marriage and kept it up after the divorce. She didn't admit to anything and now never will. But it's over, her name has been taken off the CD.

Sister #3 (the oldest) thinks of only herself.

Sister #4 has tried to be helpful but with so much meddling by sister #1, will not even answer the phone. Which is why Darrell is going to the house rather than calling. Darrell is very persuasive.

Sister #5 lives in NC. She moved there to "further her acting career". She read somewhere that NC is the new capital of the movie industry. Whatever. She's, at least, trying to be helpful. She hates the fighting as much as Darrell does.

Two brothers...they don't care about money and are both mad at the sisters.

So, a little peek into the life of me! LOL I feel better getting osme of it out. Thanks for listening, Drs. Sharon, Crissy and whomever may be reading this. ☺☺☺

Sounds like too many hens in the henhouse to me. Watch out for when she dies, everyone will be suing everyone. I learned that it doesn't matter if your names on the money or even in the will, you can sue and get anything for any reason. I feel for Darrell having to deal with all of those hens, and you are strong to just sit back, not that you have a choice, but I would be flailing all over the place. Greed is a terrible, terrible thing.

That's way I rant like I do, just to get it off my chest. LOL So the other secretary stood up and said, "There's a light in the sky." Our desks face the wall and there are no windows close by. So O K !

There are wills out there that cannot be contested and I think that's what the 2 boys handling this want to push for. D is opting out of everything except helping his mom.

Be careful with that. I learned the hard way that this means the beneficiary can't be sued but the executor can. My grandfather had a will that couldn't be contested, so my aunt sued my mom who was the executor, she couldn't touch me because I was the beneficiary. Make sure both ends are covered.

We have researched lawyers and have found a very good one with a great track record. More on the plus side, he speaks Spanish! CYA is the thing these days in our house! LOL

That's the key, finding a lawyer who knows what he's doing. My grandfather picked the lawyer, and we wanted to switch but no one would take the case because it was in the middle of the suit, and since it wasn't written to protect the executor I don't think it would have mattered anyway. We lost everything exept the house that was in my name and the physical money, that also was in my name. Because the furniture was all paid for there was no way to put my name on it so it was considered community property and she got it all, when she was done moving "just the things she wanted" it looked like a vacant house, she even took my bed! I'd get some old guy who has been a lawyer for 50 years LOL

LOL Crissy, that we have done. This guy has to be at least that old!

Hey, Crissy! There's elephants!

They have everything there. Even a stoneware composter for your kitchen. And I wanted to bid on a stone plate that had only 7 minutes left but didn't know where to put it so I resisted. Now there's a corner bookshelf on there that I want. I can't have too many bookshelves!! LOL

I have places for lots but I resist, too! LOL I haven't even STARTED Xmas shopping.

You haven't started X-mas shopping yet??????? Are you crazy??? Shop all year long and catch all the sales. That's what we do. House is full til sometime after Christmas then it empties out again til summer. Then we're at it again. LOL

Not one thing! I know, I know...stupid. I don't even know what I'm getting Darrell. I'm taking stuff from our house and giving them to Crystal. A whole truckload but Darrell? If you go to the Weather Forum, Rannvieg is doing the Icelandic Xmas troll gift giving. It sounds a bit like the 12 days...I'm going to follow that but for something on Xmas, I'm clueless.
