Ok, so the other secretary, I've told you about her before. Well, she's sitting over there and yesterday I couldn't work because she wouldn't quit talking. Today I can't get her to smile (not that that's a huge surprise.) Well, everyone is in the back of the office laughing and carrying on and I asked her for the bathroom key since I don't want to inturrupt what they are doing. She snapped, "Why don't you want to go back there, everyone else is!!" Oh that's right, anytime anyone is having fun she gets all cranky and hateful. I think I'm going to go join them for a minute, lets see how crankier I can get her LOL (Now that's mean and childish!)

Oh the phone rang and I got stuck at my desk and couldn't do it. I've done it before though, she gets very nasty.

Well, we spent 6 hours at the hospital with Darrell's mom last night. She had chest pains and pain near her liver. No heart attack, thank goodness. D didn't get much sleep but he says he's okay. We'll see when he gets home this afternoon.

It snowed! For 2 seconds. ☺

I think that makes 3 of us who are unemployed on this thread alone now. LOL

It's supposed to snow again this weekend, then again on Monday, Tuesday and Weds. I wonder if they will change that forcast or not.

I'm off to go shopping here in a minute. Gotta get my brothers some tshirts for Christmas and their birthdays.

Times are really rough right now, and I gotta love it, as I'm typing this she has to come up and use my stapler for the copies she just made, there's a stapler next to the copy machine and the copy machines staples! Yea! She's a freaking loonatick. She said she can't take lunch because she has to be here to make copies?????

MIL is home and the stress test showed her heart is a-okay. Her liver, on the other hand, is NOT okay. She needs to have a biopsy but refuses to have it done. She had one 1 and 1/2 yrs ago and now needs this other but she's the most stubborn woman I've ever seen! Wait...nooooo...MY mom was the exact same way! LOL

Why do they say ok to tests to find out what body part is ailing but won't do anything about it? I don't get it.

Cause they like to poke and prod but that's it. It's called pure torture.

LOL The elderly people. Every elderly person I have known has been like that. They'll let drs do the tests to find out where the problem is but won't let them do tests to find out exactly what the problem is so they can fix it.

Our problem is MIL doesn't WANT to know what's going on. She thinks everyone is lying to her about this. She also has a touch of dementia. She doesn't speak English well. She goes to the Dr., Dr. does a test, it hurts, therefore...Dr.=hurt. She justs wants everyone to leave her alone. We can't force her to do what WE think should be done. She's been alone for a long time, she's older, she's scared and she doesn't understand.

When I posted earlier about her being stubborn, I was just venting. I see her side of things and just wish I could help more.

Yesterday, when I went to see if I could talk her into the test, things went fine. I spoke calmly and quietly and kept out of her personal space. I held her hand, explained in detail what they wanted to do and she agreed.

When her real daughter showed up, things went all to heck. She practically ran in the room, lay halfway on the bed pushed up against her mom and started right off the bat with speaking loudly. She started yelling in Spanish about how mom needs to do this and how she's being a baby, how she doesn't understand why she was being a...well, you get it. MIL tensed right up and almost said no again. I had to take the daughter aside and expalin to her that things were fine and her mom had already let them give her the stuff to see her veins and they were on the way to get to take her to do the test. The I had to side-track her to keep her from going into the room with her for the test. Sheesh!!!

Darrell got the brunt of THAT when he talked to the sister on the phone later. She can't tell ME she didn't like it. She had to take it out on him. He told her to grow up. ☺

Dang I've been way too busy this weekend, didn't even get to enjoy it! I put my Christmas tree up and got the lights on it, cooked, did tons of dishes, laundry, and noticed I haven't dusted in a very long time oops. Oh well. Now it's bedtime and the weekend is over. I have 5 days off coming up at Christmas time. Woo Hoo!!!

Once, when visiting my mom, he took his DD with him. As they were getting some milk for mom from the dining room, there was a man there getting fed by one of the aids. He kept saying, LOUDLY...Who are you!?!?! Stop that!!! Who the (swear word) do you think you are!?!?!?! I CAN FEED MYSELF!!! Get the (cuss) away from me!!!!!!!

Needless to to say, my niece was horrified! She was only 12 at the time. My bro said...See? That's going to be me one day and you'll be taking care of me. Now doesn't that bus sound better? Her response? I'll push you!

aaggghhh everyone is at a conference for the week and I'm stuck w./ the wonderful other secretary. I'm going to be in late on Wednesday because of a dentist appt by my tire light is flashing at me and I'm about 8000 miles over the 3000 for a oil change, so I might do that too and just take the whole darn day off.

I would. Sounds like you need a day just for you!

I don't want to use the time, I only have 2 days built up from that surgery and I want to take a vacation, but I want to even out the hours. I've already took an hour, so I'm an hour short on that day anyway. Maybe I'll come in for an hour LOL!

I had to use all my available time once. I got the chicken pox when I was 29. I used my vacation, sick and comp time. It sucked but I was glad I had it.

LOL I ran out and my boss had to donate time to me! Let's see, I have 23 regular hours and 32 sick hours built back up. So if I use 8 hours that's going to leave 15 hours, that's not good.

Only 2 days. How fast to you accumulate them?

It doesn't seem very fast, but I think we get a chunk at the first of the year. I'll ask my fiscal officer when she gets back from the conference next week.

Dang I am so far behind and I have to finish my work story LOL!

I went shopping today and stopped at Big Lots. Biiiiiig mistake!! They had little junipers, azeleas, jade plants, cacti, and what they are calling kalanchoe. Looks more like a Christmas cacti to me except the blooms look more like Pentas. But the plants were right there as soon as you walk in. Another woman who was in line saw me with the plants and shot around the corner to check them out. But I got a cacti, X-mas cacti or whatever it is and a jade plant. I didn't need them but I made room for them. LOL

I'm gonna try to post a pic but my program is messing up. Won't enlarge the pics. Grrrrr.... I really hate the new version of the software. Doesn't work like I prefer. Ok, now it's working.

The middle one is a kalanchoe. I have several.

But I have one that is also called that but is totally different. The Paddle flower one. I'm gonna have to look these up. lol. I like them though. The kalanchoe and jade plant look big enough to take small cuttings off of for others. The catus I'm gonna have to let get bigger.

MIL is doing well. She's home and causing trouble. LOL Darrell is over there now making out her bills and getting a couple of things done so we can have dinner.

So...you know how you need help with something and you're afraid to ask because you might be...ehem...embarassed? Whether it's help with money or it might be something you should know how to do but can't remember? Extra food, clothing, Xmas gift...whatever? You think you should do it all by yourself 'cuz you're a grown-up.

I was in that boat and was so afraid of asking for help. I finally broke down and called my brother and told him about my problem and do you know what he said? Don't be a dope!!! Get yer butt over here and get what you need! LOL I sure was embarassed but I didn't die from it! LOL I got what I needed, he feels good being able to help and everyone comes out ahead.

I just got off the phone with D. He says his twin was there and she had her kid. He's 3 and a holy terror! She won't leave him at home because hubby can't do it, apparently. Sheesh! When they left, there were crackers, papers, etc all over the place. Ya know, whe nyou go to someone else's home, you really need to clean up after yourself. Sister was so busy chasing the little one and handling his tanttrums, she didn't get anything done but give D and MIL headaches!

I have cousins who are holy terrors and I only have to see them a few times a year. I'm their favorite person! LOLOL

I do feel sorry for Darrell though. Maybe the terror will quiet down if he loses his paitence and ROARS!! LOL

That'd be great! LOL Except he doesn't. He's the calmest soul I know. I saw him get angry once in our 15 years. And that was over something someone did to me! LOL

Darn!! I was hoping he would do it. Maybe he can do it for fun to scare the kid. Talk him into it. LOL
