Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

nice Herbie!... love the flag pole!

Rutland , MA(Zone 5b)

glad you liked them. i love the flag pole. at one time the lights leading from the star to the bottom of the flag pole were "chasing" lights and it looked really cool. we used to decorate more but i'm getting too old for this. LOL

Rutland , MA(Zone 5b)

ge1836 - thats a beautiful house you have there.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Calm down lest you think I'm other than I am.
SIL-DD and I sold our houses about18 mos ago and bought this big one so I could move in with them.
It's working out so far.
I'm happy as a pig in U know what because my gardens have quadrupled.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Great shots! I really like the glass block with lights --- they are very festive!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the glass blocks are pretty cool

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Very nice, I love those glass blocks!

Hubby still has not done the outside lights, sigh.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, great shots, Herbie. I, too, really like those glass blocks.

Thomaston, CT

Way cool! Not decorating the outside with lights this year--because of the FL trip---but will put up a tree tomorrow. There's a wreath on the house that I sort of decorated last week---will get photos tomorrow!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's all very beautiful, not to sound like a broken record but...
Love the glass blocks!

Thomaston, CT

Managed to get the tree up--it's the smallest we've ever had---since my DH can't carry any more, I picked a tree I could lift & set up myself. Two strands of lights & a few ornaments--all done.

Here is the wreath on the house--started with a basic bought one & embellished.

I love it Marilyn.
Thats the good old fashioned decor we all remember.

Very pretty, love the wreath, Robin

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

My vote is in too. I love those glass blocks. I thought they would be great lining an outdoor path or driveway also.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks---the wreath was fun to do.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Well obviously a tripod needs to enter my life but you get the idea.

I like the bear too. I've been using this Christmas tree stand for a few years and I love it.

Ahem. I love the glass blocks, too.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Guess what I got in the mail the other day. Go ahead - guess. Oh alright, I'll tell ya. It was an envelope from Lee Valley with catalogs in it. Thanks for the nudge, Victor. DH does a lot of wood-working and making moulding for frames. I thought he would appreciate this new source. He discovered the Grizzly store out near Williamsport, so every time we go visit my brother you know where we have to stop.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You're very welcome, Jan.

Thomaston, CT

I've never seen a lighted bear--only deer, but I really like the bear! Love the tree stand as well because it self waters--I'm always forgetting!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

The 3 Wise Bears was my DHs idea. They are lifesize and move. We have alot of people knock on the door to find out where he got them.

great tree Victor.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

great tree Victor... we have the same santa sleigh ....it's up on top of the hutch in this photo....do you have that watering system?

we have one that automatically fills from a bottle... the only problem we have with it is because our stand is so tall... i have to find the right height for the siphon to work ... usually mess around with it for a few days... and then it's good once I prop it up to the right height

we had a small pre-christmas get together last night.. here are some photos

Thank you. Yes, I have the watering system that you fill from waist high. Convenient, but you have to pour slowly.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Looks like a fun party, Allison. I see the Santa and reindeer on the hutch!

Thomaston, CT

Wow---nice tree, Victor---how do you keep the cats from playing tree elves?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Robin! The kitties have to be kept in the basement. Crash, my 12 yr old cat, leaves it alone.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

DH and my 14 y.o. DD #2 put lights on the house today - she had to "wrestle a dragon disguised as a bush!" We have the tree, but we're not putting it up til DD#1 comes home, which was supposed to be last night but turned into tonight or she might have to camp out at JFK.

I used to have a lot of really nice ornaments, or at least some, but over the years they've been disappearing, getting lost or broken. Oh, well. Now at least they sell more interesting ones than they did when I first had a tree 25+ years ago. I remember finding a miniature sewing machine ornament - it was such an exciting thing, to find that kind of a thing! Now it's probably $1 at the Dollar Store!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

thanks for the info Victor... and we had a good time with everyone over... even though I was pooped out again after cooking

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Yeahhhhs Norman Rockwell did all women a disservice when he paonted that holiday painting showing a table full of hungry people and the Gramma serving the bird.
I feel guilty when I remember my grandmother and mother slaving in the kitchen. We helped with cleanup, but as I remember thay went upstairs for a nap.
Thank goodness for the second womens movement and the done away with womens roles that seemed to be written in stone somewhere.
