Show us your lights

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I know it's not much of a garden topic but this season is short on flowers.
I promise not to ask to see your barbeque qrills when summer comes.
There should be gardening then.
DD and SIL spent most of the frigid day setting up lights.

I am in the middle of putting on the tree lights for the indoor tree.
Why wont the cats go to the basement and get the box of extention cords?
Ive been down those stairs three times.
Still waiting for RosyDawn to open 2009 catalogue online.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

jo anne that is an awful lot of grass in the front of the house? plenty of room for some dogwoods or other flowering trees:)

Attached is a pic from a couple years ago - we only light up an alberta spruce by the front door - although we have since added one of those fake deer that turns it head from side to side that was cheap at the xmass tree store.

Nice pic, Bill.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Bill! if only. The gardens are mine, DD is in charge of one sun garden and all the failing 20 year old shrubbs.
If I had the energy and the money I would terrace the hill at the left side and have stone walks and stuff so I wouldn't have to bemd over to plant.
You are nice to mention it though.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

No lights, just candelabra's in all the windows...lots of Santa's and Angels in the house though!

My grandmother used to make white fruitcake. I loved it toasted with butter.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

This is the white fruitcake recipe! I hope he likes it, I've always used the recipe that called for brown sugar, but I saw this one in the Cook's Holiday Baking special magazine and was inspired to think outside the fruitcake box! I think they weigh about 3# each!

I forgot to say...Victor - love the Grinch!

Very festive Herbie, thanks for sharing.

just a few more indoors. a friend at work has a son who made these and sold them. they are pieces of glass (think of a doctor's office that has those glass walls) he drills a hole in them and then inserts lights, either multi, green, red, blue or white.

Rutland , MA(Zone 5b)

ge1836 - thanks. here are some from outside
first is a lighted star which i attached to my 22 foot flagpole along with the rotodendrums (sp) which are covered with multi colored lights.
