Mornin'/afternoon all! Looks like a full day!
Come up for the Lake Fair Parade in the summer, we can all get our wheelchairs and enter as the Sistah's Rollin' Drill Team!!!
Little Piggy!!!!! Soooooo Cuuute, and NO Thanks!
Antonio is here today to get the last weeding done so I can get all the beds put down for the winter.....he brought his elder brother as help and translator so it shouldn't take too long for them to finish my little bit. That is good as my wallet is not up for a very long session this time of year......but, it needs to get done.....my back isn't up for it, and with two small children and limited English, they really need the money. Guess it works out well for both of us.
It's almost Secret Santa time!!!!!!!!! I am working on a mini-Victorian Santa....we will see how he turns out. I wish good velvet was not so expensive, I hate working with this stretchy stuff!!!!! Guess I better get the Kettle on, take the dog out and get ready to settle in! I am lucky at lunch time....DH comes home and he always makes lunch....so we should be set for the afternoon........
Jaye, son says a big Thank You! He will be by after work for the recipe, then off to shopping!!!

Trisha, that sounds like fun. But then everyone can come here the weekend of the 13th and we can decorate our lawn mowers for the annual Christmas Lawn mower parade!! No I am not joking!! We just missed Mule Days, and Swine Time Festival so maybe we can make the Lawn mower one. Think?
Lookie what I have bloomin out front....it's the purplish leaved hibiscus....forget the dang name but Linda and BJ it the one we talked about RU time
Been trying to get the dang email open as I took it with my phone early this mornin but ended up sending it to my other email to get it open to share with ya.
Countrybluelady, welcome to the group. Please tell us your first name, as we like to go by them, most of the time... tell us what you like to do, gardening, crafting, sewing...
We always have room for more sisters here.
We consider each one of us sisters, and we have a few nieces here as well. The younger ones are out niece.
Linda Kay
Phyllis that is beautiful. Is it a hibiscus?
LK
Phyllis,That is beautiful!!! Have a little Winter blooming Jasmine, not much else right now.
If I'm lucky maybe Bill and the kids will get me enough mulch to put on the beds so I can keep the weeds done once Antonio is finished.....I am at least going to get a good layer of news paper down.......we sure have enough of that!!
An hour to go!!!!!!
Phyllis... is that the Haight Asbury? I think it is. I got some cutting of that at the RU, and of the 5 cuttings, I got 4 of them too root... so, they're really easy to get going. That's beautiful... can't wait for mine to go out in the yard... and to get full like yours is.
OOOPS.........too many things going on this morning...Welcome Countrybluelady....we are always happy to add to our group!!
Welcome Countrybluelady. We're on a first name basis here, and what name do you go by? LK is a great sistah.. she's so very thoughtful to new DG members.
Sistahs, don't forget there are a bunch of us that will be making fools of ourselves on the Secret Santa swap! The game starts in an hour's time, and watch me get the BESTEST present :D
Awwww.... Marion... you can always throw socks at the tube!!!!
Trisha, it's worth paying someone to do back breaking yard work. Then you can always leave your back for indoor chores! I was thinking of making more lasagna beds, but my focus for 2009 will be less yard work, more quilting..
Love that hibiscus Phyllis. Didn't know that they root easily.
BJ, ex's niece had a pot belly pig that she had to give up when it grew too big for her to take care of. I'm afraid, it might be someone's ham after that...
They are indeed very intelligent creatures
BJ, I think you might be right about the name. It sure looks a lots like mine and the leaves are such a beautiful color now!!! I really love mine for the leaf coloring even if it doesn't bloom--which it did!!
Phyllis a nice picture.
Sorry, a very big hello there to Countrybluelady. Glad you joined us. Like Linda Kay said: tell us about yourself, please.
Jaye, my lagsana compost pile seems to be doing great. Feed it this morning and glad I did as it is now raining hard yet once again!!! It had some left over Thanksgiving trimmings!!
Marion, there are rubber "bricks" made just for that. my late hubby had a 49er one. It's around here somewhere. I hate football. I now have a tv in my craft room so, on Sundays when the 49ers are playing and losing I head for my room, and turn my tv UP so I can't hear him yelling.Rick that is.
Hello All;
My name is Lisa..
I like to garden,cook/bake and birdwatch or just about anything outdoors..

Lisa
Glad to met you Lisa. There is a swap thread that has a list of the upcoming swaps listed. Some will be starting soon and others are winding down.
So happy you found us as you will fit right in here with the cooking/baking part. Well the gardening and birdwatchin also but there are some super great cooks on this thread. Recipes always being posted.
Marion
Geez Marion you are quick. I was going to tell her the same thing

ROFLOL Cindy, I just went and was about to post the same. Thank you dear one as I don't always suceed in getting mine to copy. BTW, you should be getting a box the first of the week.
Hi Lisa, the next swap will be held by Stacey. It's the Christmas Fairy swap.
Boy you sistahs are sure fast!! Just making sure Lisa won't miss out on future swaps, eh? Or is it self serving!! Lolol!!
Yes, Thank You. Did you put that container in that you wanted a candle in?
I had to go look for y'all again! I just opened my pressie! Thank you all, very much! You got me my Dremel! And the $75.00 gift card will sure come in handy! I was so surprised! Ya done good!!
I had a great time at the kids' house, got to see my baby. She's sitting alone really good, but she doesn't know how to get from the sitting position to the laying down position, so she puckers up and whimpers, and then does a raspberry! She's sooo cute! I'll post pix later!
Thank you all, again! And Becky, thank you for the mg seeds, and the nice article!
Love you guys!
Trish, please go to the secret santa room, we are about to start the game
Stacey and rosererie too if your here.

I HAVE to see pics of that pig!!! Please Autie Biggles & Jiggles!!!
Hey Lisa-nice to meet ya:)
Can you beleive I have never been to a flea market??
Oh my goodness Tinky, you have been deprived or is it depraved? Not sure of spelling.
Yes she has, but then it might be a good thing too she might spend too much money, lol
That's COOL!!!!!!!!! Bj
It's not a true mosaic, because it's not grouted between the glass and beads. It's got a little raised line around the beads and glass then stained between all the pieces.
Here's a closer look at the detail.
BTW... I know some of the stain got up under the glass and beads, but I think that adds to it's charm...
Oh BJ-It is absolutely gorgeous!!!
Still waiting for piggie picture;)
I didn't get a pic of the pig... didn't take my camera yesterday... and they're too far to go over there just for a pic... sorry, Ms Fairy Patience.
what about tomorrow?? purty please???? (pouting)
That is indeed a pretty piece BJ. Wonder how many hours the artist puts into it... and the inspiration..
absolutely gorgeous!
BJ, love that cross. It is very pretty. Nice find.
LK
SHe is a cutie!!!
My mom fell in love with her too.
Cindy, I'll never give it away. Always love folk art stuffs.
Thanks... hope Don likes the cross... he hasn't seen it yet.
I saw some paintings yesterday too, but I don't have the wall space yet to hang them, and they were way too expensive for me.
Sweet Treat Granny is adorable... great job Cindy... very folk artsy...
Stacey, unless I can get DIL to take some pics, I won't get any... but here's what it's going to grow up to look like... not so sure that will work where Kati lives, and not so sure her mom's going to take to it... AND, not so sure Kati will still think it's so cute when it roots up the yard and carpet when it gets older.

Those pigs are cute little but they grow up to be uggalie
naw-I want little piggie pics, not full grown-not nearly as cute when it gets big:( THat's ok-if your DIL does get some pics though PLEASE SHARE!!!
OK-so here is the turkey and scarecrows LK sent me-the turley sings a funny version of Turkey in the straw-never actually listened to the real version, but this one is about accidentally milking something other thatn a cow and something about the bad MIL;)LOL
