(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

thanks all,
I have a blood pressure monitor provided by the hospital, so If I go into the danger Zone, dh takes me right back...hoping to get thru today with no problems tho! klol! REALLY looking forward to spending the dya with familym restubg abd chatting instead of crossword puzzles in bed with no phone and no puter! :o(

we are taking precaustions, DH was thouroughly prepped last night...but my tears and depression were making the blood pressure dorp worse, so I think its better to be home at least today. hospital is only five minutes away.... so if needed, I will go back!

gonna go lay back down now, but I miseed all my DG friends sooooo much, just had tolog on to say happy gobble gobble day! ^_^

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

AnnMarie, you have a great day, and eat as much as you can. Enjoy your GS, and all your family members. Please take care, and keep us posted.
Kwanjin, I had my first foot surgery 8 weeks ago, and my second foot surgery last Friday. I have what they call plantar faciitus and heel spurs. It is where the tendons on the bottom of my feet have stretched, and were hurting, so the Dr, had to shorten them, then remove the heel spurs while he was at it. it is not fun, and it is slowly but surely healing.
LK

(Zone 7a)

I was so hoping that wasn't it. I have had 5 of those proceedures. Ugh! Both feet. I feel your pain. Good luck with your recovery.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Happy Thanksgiving to all my sweet sis's and bro's( if you are still lurking)

Ahhh what wonderful smells keep wafting my way!! You girls are hard at it, making the meals that your family loves sooo much!
anjl... soo glad you at least got out for T'Day.. BUT... you really need to take care of yourself!! I will be with you that day on sending the ornaments out, so you don't need to feel alone!!..lol... sorry Karen!!
Linda Kay.. glad you are feeling a lil better each day.. and what gorgeous blooms to help you through the healing process
Joyce good to see you... you are always a busy lady..lol
Bonnie.. ty for the new thread... and i'll be meeting you and Karen in the recovery room I am sure!! Never could say no to good food!!
Karen... how wonderful to have your girls with you ... I know it is bringing back memories!!

To all of you... I wish the happiest Happy Thanksgiving to each of you!! Love the ones you are with, and be happy for the ones that can't be with you also. Cherish these moments ... cause we aren't promised a tomorrow, and you never know when you last moment will be. Love each other... even the ones you don't know.... we don't know what all goes on in each others life.... and just a smile could brighten their day... more than you might ever know...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

AMEN!!!

Kwanjin, why 5 surgeries? I think one is enough per foot!

LK

(Zone 7a)

I had the 1st on both feet in '99 for the ones on the bottom. My Doc clipped the tendons to relieve the pressure on the bones. One year later, one of my feet re-attached the fibers and I had to do it again. Two years later, I developed the mon the back of one foot. Back to the table. One year later, it decided to grow back. Number 4. One year later, I developed another on the OTHER foot! Number 5! Sheesh! I may be having problems with this last one. We think it's growing scar tissue.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Everyone is napping, you know the turkey symdrome....LOL
Including the bassett hound, but he didn't have turkey?
Sleeping on the settee my Granddaughter set up for herself.
Oh the life

Betty, thanks for the Thanksgiving e-card. That turkey is perfect for Dave's Gardeners.

Anjl I have been praying for you several days now. Take care and don't over do it. Linda Kay, I hope you mend quickly.

I over ate but it was worth it. Everything was so good. Alicia and s-i-l Ben, took Maddie and they went to Florida on Monday for Thanksgiving. With gas prices so low they figured they could afford it. They surprised his parents. Alicia's dad and stepmother knew they were coming. I am so happy they get to see little Maddie. She's growing so fast and changing all the time. I see her seven days a week and have all kinds of firsts with her, they don't. So I think the kids made a wise and thoughtful decision. Besides, I got to send Alicia's stepmother a rooted brug cutting as a surprise. I sent her one of Bonnie's Peach Versi. Bonnie, THANK YOU for giving us a new thread. I am on dial up. Need I say more?

I hope everyone is happy this evening. Jeanne

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Happy Thanksgiving all of you, it was a pleasant time and now I am home, already had my nap.. why does there have to be football on all the time?

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

Ah but Debra, Texas and Texas A&M are playing right now. I'm a Texas Longhorn and we're beating A&M right now. We're ranked #2. Texas and Florida are the only collegiate teams I care about. The Cowboys won too. Good day for Texas football.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

okie dokie.... well hope your teams won! ;)

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

Texas is still winning. I'm not a big football fan but I do like Texas, Florida, The Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccanneers.

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Stuffed and tired , but had a wonderful day, hope you did too!

I got ornery today, I walked up and hugged anyone I wanted to, people at the grocery store, filling station, waitresses, (people that I knew, not strangers, I'm not being that orengy) and told them "I am thankful for you." One young girl almost cried, "You're thankful for me???"

So, here's your HUG, I am definitely thankful for all of my friends here!!" And there is no way since I have been hugging all these children, and old men and gripey ole ladies, that I will not hug my DG friends. I AM thankful for you. Love, Peg

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Hey girls.. we are back from my aunts and uncles... we had a wonderful time... yep.. we are fat and happy around here!
Debra.. I am with you.. I don't care for sports that much and Lyle eats and breathes the mess..lol.. that is why we have seperate rooms...hehehe glad your T'day went well
Jeanne... aww I am so glad your DD chose to go to her inlaws, and yes it's nice they got to see Maddie.. the lil ones do grow fast. glad your day went well as well
Joyce... TY for the cute pic... you can tell he is happy too..lol
Celia... ouch I sure feel your pain... I sure hope you don't have to have anymore surgeries though.. yes you are right.. the surgeries create scar tissue, and then you have to have more surgeries to get the scar tissue out... vicious cycle
Linda Kay... feeling better? BTW... I had planter fasciatis on the left foot.. and got it after having the cast on for 6 weeks on the right foot after that surgery... but i am fighting it for now cause I don't have as much faith in those surgeries as I used to. As long as I don't go barefoot( I can't walk far anyway..lol) and wear shoes with a good arch I am ok

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Peg... here's your hug right back... I am sooo thankful that I got to meet you in person!! LOVES!! WTG on the hugs for everyone... it made their day, and I bet added a smile to your soul for doing it!!

(Zone 7a)

Oh boy! You're telling me! LOL I have scars form the others but his is WAY over what the others are, I stll have pain 1 year plus later.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Celia... I had the back heel spurs on the right heel and had the surgery in 2005. He put a screw in the heel and i think to this day that is why it still hurts so bad... but I just never went back. The DR had to cut my Achilles tendon to move it to get to the spur, and then stretch and reattach it in my calf area. He said it would take 2 years to heal and it did!! Like I said still gives me fits but not nearly as bad as the first 2 years. Bless you... I am praying you don't have to have another surgery, but I also know we can take just so much pain and then we are ready to do almost anything to fix it!!

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Morning evrybody. Hot coffee to go around. Figure either folks are still sleeping in or over from yesterday or out and about and doign the shopping thing.

Hope evrybody had a good day yesterday. Gettignready to try adn brave the shopping madness myself. Went to store the other day for more cups to plant in and came home without em. Hate when I do that. LOL

See ya all laters! Enjoy the day and the moment!

(Zone 7a)

DD coming into town shortly. She called me at 730am and told me she was leaving. She'll be here soon. I havent' seen her for about 6 months. Yea! ☺

Linda, how's your foot?

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Mornin!!
Ella.. ty for the coffee... I used to do the 3 am shopping thing... but now I prefer to just lay in bed..lol Good luck on braving the crowds
Celia... how wonderful!! I know you are sooo happy to be able to spend some time with your DD!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. My foot is doing Ok, still sore, but getting there slowly! Sometime my foot I had done more than 8 weeks ago, hurts more than the freshly cut on one!!! Dr said that is normal, because I am putting more wirght on it. now that I am hobbling on the second one??? Oh well. I have some Vicadin, and that helps me get throught the night. Glad to hear you daughter is coming for a visit.

I heard on the news a little bit ago, that a N.Y. wal mart worker was trampled to death, when he opened the doors this morning for the big holiday sales. More than 200 people just walked right over him, and never stopped! That is pretty sad! I think they should have arrested everyone of them! Here is the link if you care to read it.

(Zone 7a)

What the...? What is wrong with people!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pretty sick huh?

(Zone 7a)

I recently got out of retail after 15 years. I'm VERY glad now.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It is very hard to work with the public, you have to put up with so much "you know what" from them all, and customer service is just there to laugh at!
LK

(Zone 7a)

I agree. I've seen people come to blows over such stupid things. One guy punched another guy over a comforter not too long ago.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Just like cattle stampeding. I just can't imagine putting myself in that situation.

Had such a nice day at my brother's. Food was so good and as usual ate too much. There were about 20 people, mostly family, having family get together is a great way to celebrate and be thankful for all we have. We had a beautiful day, nice and warm.

Thanks for the coffee, just had a couple spoonfuls of a yam/sweet potato casserole recipe I got off the Internet, turned out so good. In fact, sister-in-law said she wanted the recipe. Now, I have to get busy and clean so I can think about hauling out some Christmas things.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

OH... I hate to hear that Linda Kay!!
Celia... I worked some retail when I was younger, and like the boss said... the customer was always right...yeah.. right!!..lol
Pegi... what a wonderful time you had!! It's nice to get together with family no matter the reason, but Holidays makes it more special! Isn't it nice they loved your recipe??
Christmas.... my fav time of the year!!

Coushatta, LA

Hello everyone hope everybody had a blast for Thanksgiving.

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

I heard that about that worker. makes ya kinda wonder how them folks can live with themselves knowing they trampled somebody to death and shame on walmart for not calling adn havign more security out there to hold people back.

it a state state of affairs when folks can't act civilized and a dollar or some material things means more than friendship and common courtesy.

I left about 9 to head to store. Went to goodies ot see if I coudl find my son a pair of jeans for Christmas an dthey don't carry the kind he likes anymore and the lines was from front to back of store.

Went into pet smart and got a couple pink tennis ball toys for the neighbors dogs to play with, they had the adoption sign out but the animals weren't there or I probably would have come home with a new dog.

Even braved the mall. Haven't been there in three years. Didn't miss anythign either. Did find my son a pair of pants and left and went to walmart and go te a curling iron and finally mor eplastic cups for planting in. : )

grabbed a subway which I haven't had one in ages. Now I to full and think I gonna snag a nap. Catch ya all later, full tummy and th esteady sound of rain. back after I get some zzzzzzzz's

Coushatta, LA

That is why i don't go shopping after holidays.People can't get anything done.I would rather pay the extra money then to do all that.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)
