My sistahs, can you say "cochon' (ko-shon)? That's French for oink oink!!! That's me!!
It's indeed a blessed Thanksgiving day. The weather's perfect, food perfect, no family drama... guts hanging.. Kel belching..
Well, took a couple naps. Took more insulin so I can finish off the apple crumb :D
IF you have any left overs, send some over..
To those of you that have some energy left... keep it!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL, Jaye... I'm having another slice of cheesecake now... even though I ate too much earlier...
I didn't over do it though... just ate a small bit of each thing, but more than I'm used to eating lately. Still not too sure about how I'll handle all this yet... so, we'll see what happens in the morning. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Night Night folks... it's been a long day, and I'm sooo exhausted.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

*sniff* Nite BJ.
Kel turned on CNN tv special.. "CNN Heroes".. makes me cry in my crumbs...
Ordinary folks sacrificing themselves to make this world more humane.

Good nite sistahs. And for those that are hitting the shops early tomorrow for bargains.. arm yourselves!! Women do crazy things when they're in a buying frenzy!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

We are home....more stuffed than any turkey ever was.....the Jiffy corn Casserole was a big hit!!!!......Laura's pumpkin pie was fantastic as always and we all ate way too much!!! Prayers that none of us have too miserable of a night.....

As King Hassan would say,"Tomorrow my friends, is another day".

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am of course at work-really a play day as I only have a couple workers out and not really expected to do much-I am cutting out seed packets from the DG templates they offer online....

YEAH-LK has matching socks now!!LOL

BJ-that was a sweet sentiment-DH and I started that tradition when we lived out west and last year introduced it into the family and this year we did it agian-everyone seems to like it as well...

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Morning everyone,

Ok, one more time.... YEAH !!! ME !!!! I ate, and I ate, and I'm here this morn to tell about it !!!

Stacey, where do I get that template?
I like the tradition of taking turns telling what we're grateful for... one reason is that we're all grateful for family, but too often we never say so. It's nice to hear it.

My granddaughter from Arizona (who flew in Wed to spend T'giving weekend) spent the night with me last night. Don left at 4am this morning, so Kati and I get to spend all morning together. Then I'm taking her back to her dad's house, and we're all going to Canton First Monday (HUGE flea market) if it's not raining. After, Steven's having a bon fire at his house, just because Kati wanted to relive one of her most favorite early childhood memories at Dad's house.

So, I probably won't be online after Kati wakes up in a bit.

Believe it or not, my stomach is growling... hehehe

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

morning bj,

that is great news to hear you are recovering. My mom came home with us last night and will be here until Monday. I have to take her for an MRI on her left knee.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

That is AWESOME news Brenda. I know I can not eat the stuff I use to, If I do I pay all night long.

Have fun with the family. Is that flea market the one over by 6 flags. Oh gosh I love that flea market.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

No, Tia Tina, Canton First Monday is in Canton, TX... it covers practically the whole town of Canton... Acres and Acres of flea market, some out doors, some under pavilions... there's no way to see everything in one day.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

BJ, go to home, then on extras, scroll down to seed packets for printing.
LK

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Moring everyone. Glad to hear you all had a great feast! So far no one seems to have over done it!
BJ, so glad to hear you are doing OK. WOOO HOOO!
I am of for some coffee, and a hot shower.
Later
LK

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh wow, I would love to go to that one also. Maybe in May.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

thanks LK:) That is where I get them-then I print them at work so I don't use up all my ink-tee hee hee-I figure it is the least that they can do for me-help me with my ink costs...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

When I get home, mom & I are going to our fave greasy spoon for some late morning breakfast, then to the Libby glass factory to get a couple things and then a little place by my house, then back home to do some crafting:)

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

that sounds like fun. I am not even going to temp shopping.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

OH, WOW... those seed packets are too cool. Thanks...
I really need to explore more... didn't know those were even available.

Tia Tina... Mem Day Weekend is also First Monday Weekend at Canton... so if anyone wants to come early, we can do that that on Friday.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Stacey,

Does that Libby glass factory sell by the bulk? A lot of containers that I use are Libby.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

That would be awesome.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

They do have some they sell by the case...

I sent you the candle containers-the Xmas ones are the ones I want filled, the others are ones I found here at a craft store I recently discovered for $0.50 each and thought they were cute-they have a bunch of differesnt colors-blue, yellow, pink, purple, green and maybe a couple other colors-they are yours to with what you like-if you do like them and want more, I can get you som more=should be able to fit about 3 dozen or more in a large flat rate box-or maybe a smidge cheaper with UPS...

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Could you get me some prices on some. 4 oz. and up to 16 oz. I don't care about shapes. Wal-Mart carries some that I like to use.

Cool as soon as you containers get here I will fill them and get them right back to you.

And Thank You for the others that you are sending.....................

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Good maaawn'in sistahs! How many turkey hangovers out there???? Keep posting those kitchen-tested recipes. They sound yummy.

Libby factory? Stacey, that would be fun.

How's your foot today, LK?

I've always wanted to go to Canton. BJ, is it divided by types of items or is everything all mixed together? I could spend days there.

We may have a new sistah to stop by. Her name is Brenda (bsavage). I know you will all make her feel welcome. Today is her birthday - maybe she will pop in for a piece of birthday cake. When I tell you how we met, you will KNOW she is a sistah. ---- I had not been on DG very long when DH and I were to attend a meeting in Scottsdale, AZ. I inquired of the SWGardening folks what to expect in terms of weather, etc. Well, Brenda lived in Scottsdale (has since moved to CO) and not only gave me good advice about what to expect weather-wise, but picked me up from our hotel and took me to lunch! Yep, that's what a sistah would do.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AUDREY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Happy Birthday Audrey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Well, hello all. Debra is so sweet to introduce me! I usually hang out on the SW Gardening forum, but it's nice to "get out and about", LOL! Looking forward to getting to know all of you, Debra tells me some great friendships have been formed here. Don't you just love DG?! It snowed last night here in Colorado, how is the weather where all of you are? Happy day after Thanksgiving! We're putting our Christmas decorations up today, I'm very excited!

Brenda

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Hi Brenda and welcome. You will enjoy all the gals here. They are all a special bunch of ladies.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Welcome Brenda,

Are you sure you want to join this bunch of "Crazy Crafting, Quilting, Candle Making, Chickie Mommas, Tootin' Fairies (what'd I miss) Sistahs? Just beware we take very good care of each other.

So what's your "Speciality"?

Cindy

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Debra, I really haven't found a rhyme or reason about the way it's laid out. Everything seems to be just a mix of different types of things. One may sell furniture, and next door might be home crafted things. Most of the new crafts and things are under the pavilions... then there's an outdoor part that is mostly garage sale stuff, really cheap. That's why you can't do it in one day... if you're looking for something specific, you really have to walk the entire place to find it.
We were looking for an outdoor SUN hanging to go in the gable area over our front porch once. We spent one entire Saturday, and found several places with them, but just didn't find the right size, color, shape and price we wanted. Went back on Sunday, and found a totally different vendor with just the perfect one.
Another time we were looking for nautical stuff, suitable for the "Captain's Quarters" decor in our living room. Took us all day, then we found one vendor packing up late in the evening who had all the stuff we wanted... but we had to go the next month to find them again.
It's not always that hard to find things, unless it's something specific you're looking for. Mostly, I just like to go walk around and see what all everyone has.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

OH Yea Brenda,

After you decorate your house come do mine, PLEASE lol JK...

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii Brenda !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yea... another Brenda !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weather is suppose to be rainy here today... but according to the radar, it looks like it's mostly going north of us.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL, Cindy, you may have to explain the chickie momma and toot'n fairies part or Brenda might think we're a little nuts. Oh yeah, we are!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Dont send it my way!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a jillion birds that will be soaked if it rains.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Tina, what do they normally do when it rains? I can just see you out there running around with a big umbrella ......

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

What was that, that Jim from France called us? Oh yea, "a nunch of crazy ladies" lol.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Tia, Tina... looks like it going between Dallas and Armore... so it's probably going to miss us both.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

..... probably a few more words in French!

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

My specialty, hmmmm... well, I don't quilt, yet... but probably will learn. I do like to embroider, of course love gardening, was a florist in a former life, now that I live in Colorado I'm looking forward to a bit more free time to do crafts... I used to do lots of crafty things, then fast paced life got in the way. I'm loving the slower, simpler life these days. We are animal people, 4 dogs, 2 cats. I love photography (still learning!). Looking forward to all the things you all can teach me!

Brenda

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

LOL they go hide, but I just got a FEW jillion more this past couple weeks and I do not have a cover for them except for a tarp that I guess I do need to put up. They will be ok so long as we dont get a monsoon.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well there are A LOT of enablers here. Marion being #1 she can teach you to quilt along with Jaye. I'm sure Debra told all about that.
