This is the eve of Thanksgiving and a wonderful tradition started by our Pilgrim Father.
I got so much to be thankful for this year. Never thought in a short period, and sight unseen, there you all are... my extended family!!!
Thank you Lord for these wonderful Sistahs and Nieces.

Good Morning Ladies!

I wanted to stop in and introduce myself since Donna C had told me about you wonderful gals. I have known Donna quite a few years and finally twisted her arm this year to join DG!! I don't think she regrets it! lol!. I am an avid gardener and have quite a variety of plants--but brugs, orchids and coleus are an addiction!! I don't have as much garden area in the new place so will be doing some downsizing garden-wise.

I just got moved for the 2nd time in 6 mos from a single wide to a doublewide and am still moving stuff! Granted it is only next door but sometimes it seems like 100 miles when I am carrying boxes to the new place. My outside Heat/AC unit went out a few nights ago and the service/repair guy says it is not fixable! I need the outside unit replaced (compressor and air handler) which I cannot afford to do until I sell the singlewide! Or find another avenue to pay for it. I have not worked in nearly 6 months and cannot find a job--the economy is not conducive to finding jobs right now despite the hundreds of resumes I have sent out. Hopefully things will turn around after the first of the year.

I have been browsing some of the threads and hope to get to know all of you better in time.

I have the coffee on and apple turnovers ready to munch on!

Geez, the first time I'm away for a whole day and you're in a new room. Got my patient home and in bed yesterday, then had to go get pains meds, but they wouldn't let me have them without his ID. So back home to get his driver's license then back to Wally World. And I was driving his old clunker. Stick shift and no power steering ugh! it's wore me out. So when I had to go back to Wally World 2nd time I took my 4runner ah heaven...

Will be making pies and bread today and cleaning off the dinning room table :(. That is going to be a chore in itself. Rick's 2 stepdaughters are coming Saturday to get their late mother's Christmas decos Then they want Rick to fix his famous fried chicken with alll the trimmings

Cindy... I had a clunker once with stick shift, no power steering, windows didn't roll down except the driver window, no air or heat. Darn thing ran good, and needed very little maintenance, and I couldn't afford a new one for a very long time. It wore me out to drive it, so I never went far in it. When I finally was able to get another (used) car with some updated features, I thought I went to heaven.

Bad day yesterday for me, went to go pick up some things I got at the auction and get almost home and my truck starts shaking, then it stopped and then it started again. Got it home and inspected it and the passenger front tire was smoking, It is either the brakes or the wheel bearing. Now to get someone here to fix it, or get it to town and have it fixed. UGHHHHHHHHH Then someone stole my credit card and made a cash withdrawl. I think I KNOW who, since they would have to have my pin number. You get 3 guesses and the 1st 2 do not count. I swear I am going to beat her half to death.

Tia, call the bank, and tell them she stole the card. You will get your money back with in a day or 2 at the most. So sorry to hear she is still pulling pranks! Hope you get your tire fixed real soon.

I called bank yesterday and had the card canceled now will be 7-10 days until I get new one. What sucks is I do most all my banking from that card. So NOW if I want cash I have to go to town. with what now, my truck is down. GRRRRRRRRRRR. I have to call the bank after 10 to find out what time the transaction took place. I know where, just need to know what time. IF it is her or him, they will be working their tail off to repay it. It will be triple payment when all is said and done.

when making nana pudding ...do you use cool whip in it or do you top it with Meringue

am partly cheating using a box of banana pudding but have the nilla wafers and fresh nanas to use in it but not sure which way to go ...add coll whip into pudding or top with meringue or top with nothing and have cool whip to top it if desired?

OMG, Tia Tina... how awful you must feel right now about your daughter. That's a terrible thing to do to a mom, steal from her... and knowing how you've had to struggle so many times to raise her, and her son. And now the truck acting up. I'm so sorry all this is happening to you. I agree, make her pay triple for the heartbreak she's caused you.

Thank you sistahs for the warm welcome! I am sure I will enjoy spending time here! Will be working on getting some sort of heat soon. Going to get a couple elec heaters temporarily and some firewood to burn in the fireplace on occasion. Boy! that stuff is expensive tho!

The guy arrived a little while ago to change over my cable, phone and internet so will be offline for awhile. Will check back in after I am up and running!

Rick is doing ok. He is up walking around even went outside to have a cigar. Dr gave him Vicodin for 90 days plus a refill. I've never had a doctor give me a scrip of that stuff for 90 days plus refill. This doctor was very young not even 40 yet I don't think, but very nice and friendly.

good morning! Stopping by to say Happy Thanksgiving in case I don't get back. Have appt for hair color and cut this morning then dog trainer (Woody) will be here soon after I return. From then on it's cooking and preparing for the big feast.

Haven't read all the posts but do see some new sisters. WELCOME! And that BJ is pain free for a third day. WHOOOOO HOOOOOO! And we have some new chickie babies. Yipeeee! Thanks for the photo Kathy!

I just put the 2 week old plus chicks outside in the brooder, they are loving the fresh air.

When I tell my husband he is going to be livid.

Went outside to be around my chickens, they do help when I am down. All they want from me is a little lovin and a lot of feed :).

Sis....May is just adorable....too bad they have to grow up to look like turkeys....oh oh...did I say that out loud????

Better not tell the new babies what Holiday this is. Baby turkeys don't need to hear about Thanksgiving and all it entails until they are older. When they are better able to handle the shock.
