Alanon taught me to be responsible for myself only!! So, that's what you have to tell your DH. His son got to change on his own. I tried to 'fix' things for an alcoholic, and only ended up with heartaches, anger and the worst, thinking it might be my fault too..

Cody, to answer your question, yes, the brugs do grow back in the spring. Thank God, unless it's a very harsh winter.. and very rarely it snowed here.

I have a question ... why is Natchitoches pronounced with only 3 syllables instead of 4? I sure lookes like it should be 4! LOL!

And the pronounciation too of 'tchi'. For a long time I pronounced it as it's spelt-----wrong!! Not Na-tchi- but Na -Ki...

Evening sisters...

I have spent the entire day Happy Dancing around my home...lol I have been cleaning, organzing, sorting and trying to get everything cleaned top to bottom before I start on the decorations tomorrow for Christmas.. I slept so well last night for the first time in a few weeks and wow did I have some energy today.. Max slept until about 1 and he got up and re-arranged the Laundry room and emptied out some storage container so I can start keeping all my craft projects better together. Its amazing that I never knew how much this place ment to me personally until I had to get my mind wrapped around the possibility of losing it. Even with all we have done here I really do Love Our Home and we Saved it with Help from all of Your prayers... Thank you again for everything...

Phyllis I will keep you in my thoughts.. I watched my sister (half) search and search for answers about her father and why he never came around or cared to call. It broke my heart and she kept telling herself that mom was a liar and he didnt have the problem she said he did. I knew exactly where he was and tried to get him to call her but he was too drunk to ever comprehend anything but himself and drugs, I told her finally and she didnt believe that I was telling the truth. Of course we were 700 miles apart.. He died a few years ago and only then did she finally learn that I was telling the truth. My husband even knew him through cb chatter. Sometimes other have to see it to believe it, I would show your hubby and have him handle it.. Most of all work on getting him out , help or whatever he needs to do. Unfortunately alot of times they deny help and resist it by drinking more.. Im so sorry you are going through this...

Hi Cody.. Welcome aboard, Im new too and these ladies truly become your sisters fast so be ready.. They are all very sweet but watch out they will have you wanting to start all kinds of new crafts..

LK your Brugs are beautiful.. Mine expired all blooms and a great bit of leaves a few days ago in a freeze. I have a friend ( Linda) who loves angels and she has a huge variety.. She in the middle of a move and is also uprooting all her plants so greenhouse / cover is sparse around her place, mostly filled with angels...

On the same note could everyone say alittle extra something for my friend Linda.. Shes going through her 2 move in a year, having trouble finding work, just found out she has no heat unit in her place working, just a really hard time for her right now. Shes a very sweet Lady who needs some encouragment that everything will get better..

Jaye I will keep your niece in my thoughts for a speedy recovery..

Deb Congrats on your Grandaughter... My mom was so excited when I had my girl.. 4 grandchildren and the last one ws the girl... Now with the possibility of Maxs girls comming down she will get 2 more even though she is resisting the idea.. I told her we new they wanted to come when they turned 13 .. Thats 2 years and Im pretty sure we will be better off by then and prepared... Also I will keep Lisa in my thoughts and prayers...

You have set yourself up as a mother whose children will be proud of, Donna C. You never gave up, but thought of all possibilities on how to keep your family home, and the best part, followed through. Give yourself high fives!! And to be able to sleep like a baby, is indeed a well earned reward.
Of course prayers help, but you did the leg work. You're not the kind that prayed for a million dollars jackpot and not bought a lottery ticket!!! Then, you have a wonderful partner, Max, who feels equally responsible, and will do his very best to not let his family down.

BTW... I, for one, can attest to how well prayer works... 2 full days, pain free... And today, I ate a regular diet... even had a pot pie for dinner.
I spoke to the nurse at the doc office, and told her about the weekend events... spicy broth Sat night, Sicker than I've ever been on Sun, then all of a sudden... feel better than I have in months. THAT doesn't sound like a damaged nerve to me... I mean, if it's damaged, it should hurt all the time... not just sometimes... so, she's going to run that by the doc, and call me back tomorrow. The CAT scan results came in, and there's NOTHING showed up that they could see. PERHAPS I may not need to see a neurologist...

Well the turducken is all put together with dressing and cajun seasoning and in the roaster in the frig ready to go tomorrow, giblets and bones have been cooked so they can be picked and used int eh gravy or bagged for soup later, the pumpkin pies are done, the pumpkin pie squares are done, the mandarin orange salad is done, the green bean casserole is ready to go, the can of jellied cranberries is in the frig gettin cold ...so all I have left is the banana pudding ...covering most of the bases as the Don in law to be is a lil bit of a picky eater LOL

now as for the other person from above post...I didn't take DH in and show him but I did make the comment I sure hope the guy can get things extended in Illinois so he can get his own place then he won't have to think he is sneaking his beer into his room....so DH knows there is beer in his room now cause he didn't' ask or say anything after I said that.
I do know though once he is out on his own he will not and I repeat will not be coming back here to stay
Dh said so and I am going to make him stick to it.
I have had to suck it up and use tough love on my youngest girl and on my son so if I can do it he can learn to do it also.

I almost lost everything back in Illinois due to kids and their stupid choices and I am not about to go through that again here and I will not ask my daughter here to help out if he gets stopped and put in jail....he can sit there like my son did last year for a month for a really stupid move and the blazer will get impounded and stay there as we do not have the money to get it out and I will not have her bail it out and our monthly bills will come first.

so now I will go finish the last Santa with his decorations then take a pic to post on the Santa thread LOL
then this week I am going to get another project promised finished .....hint hint Stacy ..ROFL
Gotta get the major projects done as when I get home from work at night there isn't much time between 5:30 and 10pm when you are tired from the day LOL

BJ such wonderful news about being pain free now for 2 days. Nope it it was a nerve thing it wouldn't stop like that. Rest, don't overdo it with the house cleaning.

Oh Phyllis, how sad. I agree with the others with their thoughts but do know this is really hard for you. You and hubby are entitled to your lives now but being a parent I know it is hard for his dad to see and maybe accept. If only there was some easy way!! Just know we are here for you--vent all you want to.

Hi Trisha and Laura, cold out there? It is cooler here and rain is predicted Friday and Saturday. Could be bad if it does rain Saturday as that is the big state football rivalry game here this year---FSU vs University of Florida. Seminoles and Gators, oh well, both are used to wet swampy conditions aren't they.

Deborah, oh my!! Little granddaughter are such a delight and fun to have. Just had dinner with mine tonight and another very interesting conversation. We learned about table manners complete with how to use cloth napkins and the proper way to use a tissue!!! All from the youngest one. The oldest is just about to lose her first tooth--I really thought it would come out during dinner it is so loose.

Cody, My son was the only boy in my family, and my daddy ruined him! He had no sons, and my sister was so jealous she was beside herself! Mt oldest daughter was the rowdy one when they were little! She couldn't sit down without her feet being in the air! Had to keep her in pants! Enjoy him while you can, they grow up to fast!
