Have an apricot colored Xmas cactus with purple anthers--just finished blooming on one side--probably needs more light, we don't have much house plant natural light.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I finely found a true white.white.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I wonder if she knows how to divide dahlia tubers?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Notice this guy still lives with his parents.

Thomaston, CT

Wren---where do you find your Christmas Cacti? It seems the nurseries around here have the same 3 colors!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I found mine at WM HD and ACE hardware you have to be there when they come in to find the good ones. There is a place here in Florida that sales cuttings I have not gone there yet but I will after the first of the year http://www.bobsmoleys.com/s-z.html

Interesting article, Victor. Robotics fascinate me. I loved the movie I Robot, with Will Smith. I think they did an excellent job of bringing that story to life.

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm sure they will be common within our lifetime.

South Hamilton, MA

Only if they weed the garden & can tell the weeds apart from the plants.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

They would have to be better than my last two yard guys Dumb and Dumber.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks Wren for the link---some sound fantastic---looking to order when I return from FL in Feb.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Edwina Scissorhands.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Wren, your last yard guys are why I would be reluctant to hire anyone, even if I could afford it. I'm picky about how the gardening is done, mowing, weeding, etc. Don't think anyone would do it the way I want. I had someone weeding for me once. She was a very nice person, but wasn't thorough about weeding. Sigh!

Karen

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

These guys where really dumb. I had them weeding and the one I called Dumber ask if we could get weed killer and use it in the flower bed. I explained that the weed killer did not know the different between plants, then he asked why we couldn't get Dollar week killer and use it. I said "BECAUSE!!!!"

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

YIPPEE solstice dancing!!! Can I come? I have a new interpretive dance this year 'The Emergence of the Bulbous Things".

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I thought 'the emergence of the bulbous things' was called puberty.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Now why did I guess you would be all over that, hmm? Don't you have a snowman to knock over or something? ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hard to find one in 61 degree weather.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

ARGH! I was INTENTIONALLY not reading the weather in the NE. -31F with wind chill. Yes that's F not C.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - 'F' would immediately come to mind.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I hate to tell you that down here in the northeastern part of Florida it is 79F out my house.

Please send a tiny bit of that cold down here--just a tiny bit. About 10 degrees would be nice.

I am trying to build benches for my new green house.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I am ROARING!! Mom is wondering why. How can I tell her about the 'emergence of bulbous things?"
YIKES! that is c-c-c-old!. Currently it is 64. I was outside w/o a coat cleaning off the deck.

edited to say, but hot for you wren. Good luck with the building project.

The green/shade house will be done for this year-we plan on making changes as we feel our way next summer. The problem is it get to hot down here and I do not want cooked orchid cactus. LOL

Have run into a problem with the benches need to change the shelving material.
