Woo Hoo!
It's Monday night!

Thomaston, CT

Just found this thread---don't look at others ---just don't have a lot of time---but this is fun just to talk about whatever---had a good "baddog" story----many years ago we had a lab-Giant Schnauzer cross--she chewed everything! One day our neighbor came to us with a turtle he had in a tank on his deck---very chewed---and when our other neighbor was babysitting her, she ate the fenders on his motorcycle---I took a rabbit's head away from her, & a chicken---also a throw rug, an old glass milk bottle, & a turtleneck sweater---our hill was mostly wooded---only a few homes, so all the dogs were allowed to roam---the only road traffic belonged to the folks who lived here. Now, cars whizz by, houses everywhere, & all dogs are fenced!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

My dog wieghed 130 lbs and roamed loose an occassion, not often as the neighbors didn't care for it. He was a thief of sorts...steal the boots off your front porch. Not a dumb dog either...made 2 trips to make sure you had a PAIR of boots and not just a boot. Phone rings and it's Sissy (neighbor) she ask if I might have a pair of size 9 LL Beans boots she could borrow. (I wear an 8) I say yes will send them right over. Funny part.....I send a kid to return them!!

I see in the newsletter that the Retirees forum had only 20 posts for the entire week. Geez - if they can't find the time to post...

Maybe they forgot how.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Ha, Ha, Ha!!!! Maybe retirees are busier now than before retirement!!!! LOL I can remember how to post - the problem is I can't find the TIME to post!! I know I left it someplace - I'll keep looking!! LOL Eleanor
p.s. - couldn't resist answering to retiree jokes.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Went to a burial for my uncle over the weekend and noticed a large headstone that simply read, 'Lazarus'. How unnecessary, I thought.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Absolutely, Victor.

My dogs are driving me crazy! They wont get out from under my feet no matter where I go in the house! Beginning to tick me off. Thats it! I am getting out my canned air.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

*poof*!!!
Dog hair everywhere!!!

I just searched for something and got this

Rain & nasty wind gusts now. No tour of the garden to see what's what.

whooha! No searching the site. Am I on probation? Can anyone literally say they see or saw the same thing?

What site are you talking about?

I did a search for tulips on the search engine here on this forum and then went to another forum and got this.

Never got to see the fruit turkey---my computer was too slow, I guess. Hey--retired people are busy! Don't know how I ever worked---guess I was always dragging. I'm still dragging, but from fun things!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Speaking of headstones I liked one I saw. It just said 'Dust'. Of course mine would probable be mispelled and say 'Duh'. Note to self: put stuff like this in your will.

NORTH CENTRAL, PA(Zone 5a)

I've instucted those who follow to just drive me in the ground vertical with two fingers left showing to hold a canceled credit card. The signal finger and the one next to it will point the way and leave my sincere thoughts proving signing communication after death.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee - good one Dwaine. I want my headstone to read either, 'I'll be right back...', or 'I told you I did not feel well!'

Now I am thinking....... 1st thing I can think of is

" I lost my mind and I am looking for it"

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

More on this line there are a couple of books on tomestone humer. I think one is called "Last Laughs"

2 dogs to the vets and toe nails clipped. 16 bucks. I dont know if you saw the commercial with the Peticure. Good grief all it is a Low speed Dremel with sanding discs. They want 59.99 bucks for it. I have 3 Dremels. Those info commercials tick me right off.

I agree. And they do not tell you that you must train your dog to except it. I had one that no matter how much I worked with her would not let me do it( she get really nasty about it) And I had two that where alright with it. I could not imagine trying to do it with a cat. LOL

Cat yeah - you would become a scar farm.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

The dog did job on my as it was. But she was a nut case any way. I had 3 Siamese cats years ago. I only tried to bath one once!!!!

My mother and father had a cat that weighed 24 lbs. He was a nasty scrapper. He got skunked and I had to give him a bath. He was frothing at the mouth and his eyes shut. Guess I was lucky.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Very.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

ROBINDOG, I remember those days, when I was growing up, when we could let our dogs run loose. Ours seemed to love going swamp running. They would be gone for hours up to who-knows-what mischief. Always came home stinking of swamp. Not much traffic in those days, nor many neighbors. Things have certainly changed.

I'm telling you, if I were able to retire, I wouldn't have a lot of time either. I have known some people who retired and didn't know what to do with themselves. I cannot imagine living a life and not getting interested in anything much that you wouldn't be busy all the time when you retire. I've worked selling change in casinos in Reno and Sparks, NV (Reno is so close to h--- you can see Sparks!), and it really made me sad to see all the retirees coming in on almost a daily basis to spend hours throwing their money away. I just couldn't imagine doing that with my life. I'm glad I have many interests in life.

Karen

Thanksgiving is just another day. We were going to go to Foxwoods as I have never been to a gambling place. Too broke or at least going to be. Taxes and propane bill came the same stinking day. 2,700 bucks later.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Bummer about that, Sherrie. I just paid off $1400 I owed to the IRS. It was nice to get rid of that debt, but it meant that I didn't get to use any of my bonus.

Karen

Just a kicker the timing. Why do they have your taxes due so close to Christmas. Granted we dont have kids or many bills. They should bill us like in Oct and April. Oh well. Life is life.

Edited to say: My Twisted Stister and me are going full force on the celery thread. The goal is to reach 100 over there :-)
