Let's Talk Turkey - Thanksgiving Edition

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Me too

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I haven't weighed myself cause I don't want to know! lol

NORTH CENTRAL, PA(Zone 5a)

We got the neighborhood bug or something onery. A month of not going to the health club because an illness has doomed any and all fall gains we had on weight and general condition. La ka put it's gone at the wink of an eye. T'aint fair that whirlpool less exercise just will not cut the mustard. ]:o)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Funny, Dwaine!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I haven't weighed myself either, Willie, but I bet I did find them.

I don't worry about the health clubs. I'm out and about in the public constantly, exposed to all kinds of germs. I figure it's only a matter of time before something strikes me down. Was sick earlier this month for 2 wks with bronchitis and a sinus infection. Couldn't do any yard work, so I got way behind. Last year I was sick with a horrid cold in Oct. Earlier this year had a really bad cold on my vacation to Florida. I can't seem to travel these days without something bad happening.

i'm having my 2nd T-day in a few hours - bird is the oven, everything is waiting to be cooked - can't wait - no pies though. will have to make do with a large mushroon caserole - yeh!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I made the mistake of weighing myself....not pretty!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Back to the tombstones. When we buried my dear neighbor I noticed a nearby tombstone with a slot machine at the top. LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

How many quarters did you drop?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Pennies from heaven?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Pennies FOR Heaven??!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

OK for, guess he was really bad if he has to pay to get in.
hee hee he

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I wonder how much I will have to pay .........

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

LOL! Start saving!!!

lol

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Bill, I had a second turkey day on Saturday. On TG I went out to dinner with my Dad and 2 friends. Great dinner, btw, served family style. The meal on Sat. was a lot of work. Had forgotten how much work goes into putting together a dinner like that.

Slot machine on a tombstone? LOL! Must have loved the casinos.

Please--no pounds sent my way! I walked 11/2 miles today--I'm sure it didn't make a dent in the chips I had with my sandwich--or the latte I had after my walk! Oh, well. My sister starves herself---her personality is starved, also. I would rather be my size & not a size 4 if that is what happens! Like the gravestone story--not on the groping! Poor kid--some man sexually assaulted a 7 year old in a library--he had his own young daughter with him---police put up notices around this town--well-to-do town---& caught him as he was ripping down the sketches of himself--not too bright!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Dont'chaaa looove it

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

karen - i split the work with my wife so it is not too bad - although clean up is the worst - almost fell with the huge serving platter used only for t-day- it is wider than the sink. dishwasher was open (couldn't see it because i was holding the plate in front of me) and i tripped over it and somehow managed to hold the plate in the air, jump over the dishwasher, and bounce off the refrig and stay upright. all the while letting out some kind of a yell. a hella of save!

my wife thought it was the funniest thing she had heard and seen in some time. tears streaming down her face. i have a feeling if that plate had hit the floor it would have been a different story.

we ate dinner late so for lunch today i had the t-sandwich (triple layer of turkey - layer of stuffing - and layer of gravy heated in microwave) awesome - stuffing stuck to the roof of your mouth like peanut butter. will be having another for dinner soon - can't wait.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hope you look dignified during the entire episode, Bill!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If you have clear skies, look for the crescent moon and two bright objects nearby. They are Venus and Jupiter. It's an uncommon 'conjunction', or close gathering of heavenly objects.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Does anyone else find the price of the DG calender a tad too high?! I have never paid $21 for a calender and doubt I ever would, unless most of the proceeds were going to some charity. You would think they would lower the price with this economy.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

And the BIG one is even more .....

I think they do go for $19.99 at those mall kiosk thingies ......

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You can do a personalized one on Snapfish for $19. At least it's all your own personal shots.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Great save, Bill! You poor thing, having to endure you're wife's laughter at that event! He, hee! I guess I would have been laughing, too, but not if you had hurt yourself.

I was looking at the moon earlier tonight, Victor, and only saw one of the planets. Will go out now and take another look. Well, I couldn't see those planets this time.

Actually, Willie, I got some calendars at the mall kiosks last year, and most were going for around $12.95. $21 is way too much. Unless I'm buying a calendar for a present, then I wait till they're 50% off.

I got a picture of the moon and her sister Venus (or is it Jupiter?). Here it is.

That was earlier tonight, at dusk. Here's another.

The bright one is Venus.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Look to the upper right of Venus - that could be Jupiter. My view is blocked by trees but I'll look again.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, now I see the other point of light! It's just to the left of the moon, and not very bright. Could that one be Jupiter? I'm assuming, because it's so much farther away that it would not be as bright.

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Just saw it. It is the one on the upper right. They make a nice triangle!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

No, I mean it's to the right of the moon! Duh!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yes, they do, Victor.

Karen

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

OMG Victor you're all over the calendar. I thought you were doing a Victor. $21 for the calendar. Wowser! That does seem a tad steep. I so want it cuz a dear friend won a month. I wonder why it's so expensive? Victor, you go ask. I always feel like I'm the facing the Great and Terrible Wizard of Oz when I go to the Daves Garden Forum. We will wait to hear. Note: helping will add more weight to your 'nice' on the Santa list ^_^ Thanks muchly. ps twisting Victor's arm MIGHT have put more weight on my 'naughty' on the Santa list. Geesh you just can't win.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I bought my 4 year old holy-terror Grandaughter a shirt that says
'Santa...explain naughty?' The older GD who is 9 says
"Listen Santa...I can explain" and my daughter has a shirt she'll wear just for her DH. Across the chest it says
"Put me on your Wish List" lol

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

victor i was the moon and planets on the drive home last night - also noticed several people taking pics - tried to myself w/o a tripod with no success. it really stood out.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - it was cool. Will be visible again tonight.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

may have to break out the little mini tripod i have and give it another try.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

If only the cloud cover would cooperate!

I saw a great photo of that taken by someone "Down Under" and the crescent moon is under the planets, there, looking like a smiley face.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My older guy is ten years old today. Can't believe it! How can that be when he was just born??

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Happy time for him.
Reallity check for you.
