That makes for fun holiday conversation. I bet your house is never boaring!
How was everybodys day today please share :)
Some times. Like with the tv.
Ya, would really like to know how you got a TV on your head!
I bet I will have a bruise or a headache in the morning.
That TV story has to be interesting.
How r u doing CMoxon? u still there?
Ya, I would expect a bruise! Face temple, head. I heard if it bumps out it is a good sign! Bumping in can cause problems.
Hard to tell if there is a bump right now. Just really sore to touch.
Ya, set your alarm. So you wake up. It is not good to fall asleep with one. Not that that is what it is. Just be safe! Thats all.
Ok. I had a small and I mean a very small RV. It was bult onto a Nissan truck body. The 9 inch tv was stored on the bed shelve about the drivers set on a no skid pad and I always kept the bed slide out. Well my dad like to go out there to watch the races on the tv and my brother like to borrow the RV. Dad did not put the tv back on the pad and my brothers friend pushed the slide in. See where this is heading. One day I was driving a long and turned a corner the tv slide of the shelve and fell hitting my head and ended up perched on my shoulder and the set. I was about to pull off the road and remove the tv.
Mom took my to the ER- but the time I get there I was over my shock, and just calmly told them a tv landed on my head. You could hear all thur the ER "A what fell on her head?"
OHHHHH! That could have gone very wrong! Especailly driving! WOW! I can imagine the attending people at the hospitals faces!
I must be OK, because I just had a good laugh over that, although I can't imagine how painful it must have been at the time. I'm glad you came through it OK and especially that you didn't end up in an accident. It's only funny in hindsight.
I agree. Hindsight gives us the right to laugh now right? Because we know you ae okay! I am glad for that!
By then it was funny but my family has a weird sense of humor. Another time mon had to drive me to the ER, I had kicked the tv stand. 4 times peopleincluding a doctor came into the room and asked my which toe did I brake .I looked at them and looked at my foot looked back at them and told them
"I think it is the one that took the right turn" (the baby toe was sticking out at a right angle)
I am sure the hospital people have seen some really crazy stuff!
CMoxon
The old nurse is going to come out. I had a friend who fell about 10 feet and hit her head. We took her to the ER and they sent her home with some kind of pain med. Years later she was trying to have a baby. They did a CT and found a hair line fracture where she had hit her head and a cracked vertebrae. They did a fast fusion of the vertebrae and she came through OK. Please watch the site where the board hit you. A bump out is much better then a bump in. If you start feeling dizzy or light headed just go to the ER. I know It's a PITA, but better safe then sorry.
George
Ok, back to my corner! LOL
NOTHING LIKE STATING THE OBVIOUS! Thats when you want to give them a V8! Thump!
Claire,
I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. UGH! That sounds like something that would happen to me. Please to be cautious about the concussion. Its nothing to be taken lightly.
Take care and have Kelly pamper you tonight.
Kristin
Safe is GOOD!
Yes! I told one doctor another time if one more doctor told my that they had never seen anything like it(about some thing I had done to myself) I would scream-he told me he was sorry but he had to say it.
Had to or wanted to? We have to breath, we have to eat... you get the point! So did you have to kick him? LOL
Well as it was my foot he was talking about I could not kick him.
Nurse george, All good advice!
Do have someone with you tonight who will check on you! Okay?
LOL, a slap up side...would do.
If anything I think it's a bit swollen, i.e. bump out. It is just so tender, but if I run my hands across my head on both sides, I can feel the left side has some swelling, but definitely no inward facing bump. I am less dizzy now than I was a bit earlier. It was worst when I bent over to pick something up. I haven't bumped into the wall again either.
I am signing off for the night! CMoxon, please take it easy and be aware of how u feel. I hope you feel better! If anything changes get to the hospital. It would be better to find nothing after looking than to have something and not look. (did that even make any sense?) I sure hope so. Wren107, nice talking with u! See you all tomorrow.
I would have probable injured my hand and a broken foot and ankle where bad enough. And yes another strange accident. I what gotten my first Terv puppy and we where playing with some of the neighborhood. I was running with her and stepped on a small stick. When I fell I twisted around so I would not fall on the puppy. there I layed on the ground and I looked up at the kids' father and said " I hope what I heard was the stick and not me--wrong it was me. Strangely I was able to walk home before the pain hit. Poor mom had to drive me to the ER. I had to point out to the doctor the second swelling and he told me he had never seed brakes like this. Du!!!!
That is a good sighn! Sometimes the blood rushing can cause dizziness to. Like standing up to quick. But dont take it lightly. Okay! I will check in with you tomorrow. Did you talk with someone who will sit with u?
Good nite
It was broken? EWWWWW! Not a sound you want to hear....ever!
My daughter broke her arm the day be4 the 4th of juky last year. Not a good time to get injured! They couldnt get her in with a doctor til the following week, because of the holiday!
No but the strange thing was it did not hurt then.
Well I am going to call it a nite. Sweat dreams every one
sweet dreams, I'm going too! CMoxon! Be well!
They probable would not have done anything any way. It takes about a week for the swelling to go down.
Kelly will wake me a couple of times in the night. He'll check my eyes and make sure I am OK. I will probably have to get up to pee when he wakes me, so that will be a good test too.
Wren - you have definitely had your share of bizarre accidents. Just thinking of the sound you must have heard that you thought was the stick makes me shiver. Do you set off airport security alarms because you are full of steel pins?! LOL!
No pins. Luckly every thing healed with out any problems beside I DONE NOT FLY!!!! No way with my luck the wings would probable fall off. (Mom has the pins and other metals in her body
I hate flying. I have to take pills to get on the plane. It just doesn't seem natural. I have flown countless times in my life though -- you would think I'd be over it. Not so much...
My dumbest accident. I was bored and stuck in the house working on my winter sowing project. Decided I just HAD to get some soil from outside during an ice storm. My foot hit the first step and the next thing I knew I was on the ground. I just sat there and thought "I really don't want to yell for help" Finally got my breath. Broke my arm in 3 places.
George
Oh no! That is one of those "never live it down" moments. I hope your winter sowing was successful none the less.
I once ran to pick up the phone when I was in college and tripped on my backpack strap because I had carelessly left it lying in the middle of the floor. My foot essentially folded in half with my weight on it, with the toes underneath. I lay on the floor for a while, bawling my eyes out, and then tried to stand and found that I could not put any weight on the foot, so I crawled around on hands and knees for a bit, and tried to find any friend who could take me to the ER. No luck. About 2 am, my boyfriend came home (he had been playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends) and felt terrible for not having left a phone number. We went to the ER and they said it was worse than a break because I had popped a bone out of place and back into place. I was on crutches for about 6 weeks and physical therapy for what felt like forever. I never left my backpack on the floor after that.
That story makes me just hurt hearing it! I used to spend hours playing D&D. Some of my old college buddy's still swear we will play again.
George
Hey everyone! CMoxon...How are you?
WOW, those are some reaaly painful stories. The only thing I have ever broke was my elbow. But I did have to have emergency back surgery because I could not walk. A disc in my back blew up to 4 times the size of a normal disc. Most would rupture at that point. NOT mine. They are tough. It just pressed all the nerves from my waist down. Bladder, sciatic, among others. They had me in surgery the day the MRI came back. After the surgery I was soooo much better. I guess thats why you should not ignore pain. You make it so much worse later. hehehe!
