How was everybodys day today please share :)

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

I'll probably be signing off for the night, though. We're doing a pizza and movie night with the kiddos. The pizza my 3 year old and I made just came out of the oven and we're just waiting for my 5 year old and DH to come back from the movie store.

Night-night all. See you in the morning!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Good nite.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

We do pizza and movies Friday nights. Sometimes we get crazy and do Chinese.

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

We just started the tradition a couple weeks ago -- for Friday night -- but we were out last night and thought we'd just pick up where we left off. :-)

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

We have done it for 12 years! My kids look forward to it! We dont make our pizzas though! We order out! LOL I dont cook on fridays except for tacos once in awhile.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

We just made homemade potatoes sliced with Canadian bacon and fresh eggs for dinner.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Y'all are making me hungry!!!!!

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Ya, that sounds good!!!!!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I put a slice of smoked provolone cheese on top of mine. :-)

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

My favorite!!!!! Everyone is asleep here! It is so quiet.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I am getting ready to go to bed. Talk to y'all tomorrow

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I got whacked on the head by a really heavy board in the barn earlier and I'm still seeing stars. The left side of my face is sort of numb and weird feeling. I'm just taking it easy and not exerting myself. That means sitting at the computer with a glass of wine and a little light music in the background. Trying not to see stars.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

sounds good cu tomorrow!

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

wow! r u ok?

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Did you get a headache or anything? How long ago?

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

have your DH check your eyes. If the pupils are not right go to the ER

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

About an hour ago. I haven't exactly got a headache but it keeps coming in these waves of throbbing pain for like 5 minutes, and then it subsides. And I walked into the wall earlier. I hope that's not particularly related. The board was about 16 feet long, about 2 inches thick, and about 10 inches wide. Craig's List find. We were trying to store them in the barn rafters and I was pushing and lost my footing and the board slammed down on my head as I lost hold of it, but it was over my head when it happened, so it was a big hit. I had to sit for a while. Then I came inside cuz I told Kelly I didn't want to do any more tonight. Maybe tomorrow. My back hurts too.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

going to bathroom to check pupils...

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Maybe you ought to stay up awhile. What if its a concusion? I have had a few in my time. Usually accompanied by dizziness, sick to stomache...

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Have him check your eyes about every hour, yes I know it will not be fun to be waken up often but take it from some one who knowes it is important. You could have cracked your skull. Please be careful.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Good idea! I am serious. Concusion is serious. I spun myself silly on a bar stool when I was a kid. What was dad doing taking me to a bar with him anyway! LOL Then I fell down the steps at a baseball game too. Went to the hospital that time. Lost my vision. The I hit my head on the gym wall. Yup , hospital then too. Lost my vision. I guess I am lucky to know my name. JK! LOL

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I don't feel sick to my stomach, just sort of dizzy/lightheaded. He's out in the barn. I went to the bathroom and switched from the dim to bright light several times. Both pupils are the same and they go from bigger (dim) to smaller (bright) so I think they are OK. My head is really tender to the touch where it hit me. Probably bruised. Its on the upper left side of my head. But my left cheek feels tinglely when I touch it. Also the side of my forehead. Probably just going to be bruised. What would make my eyes go wrong? Would that be concussion?

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Same here. Fell of a horse, hit head. Had a tv fall on my head(don't ask-long story) fell on bike racing a neighborhood kid(I was in my 40's) and resonantly feel hit my face against a wall and then fell out the back door and cracked my head on a stepping stone!!!! Yes I am a accident going some place to happen

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Wow, you guys take the cake for head accidents! I feel like mine must be minor compared to all that!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Yes and it is usually only one. The pupil will be different sizes. Though when the tv fell on my head both of mine where pinpoints.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

It can be funny, specially trying to explain what happened at the ER. LOL

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Headache
Nausea
Balance problems or dizziness
Double or fuzzy vision
Sensitivity to light or noise
Feeling slowed down
Feeling "foggy" or "not sharp"
Change in sleep pattern
Concentration or memory problems
Irritability
Sadness
Feeling more emotional
These are symptoms I found on line as well as clumsiness (you said you ran into a wall or door) just be aware!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I will keep checking my eyes until we go to bed (around 11 pm) so I still have a couple of hours. If they are OK still by then, that means it's OK, right?

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Okay wren I will need details on a couple of those before too awfully long. I LOL at two of them. Though it was not funny at the time I am sure. What are you doing racing a neighbor kid at 40? That is cool!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I am not an expert but the usual rule is to have some one check your eyes a couple of times during the nite. It is probable ok. But do be careful.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Well I just seem to have the dizziness, but that's subsiding, although if I get up and walk and then reach down to pick something up (like when I dropped my fork off my plate when I took it to the dishwasher), I got dizzy again. The wall bump was definitely clumsy. I do not normally bump into walls. Especially ones that have not moved themselves recently. Immediately after it happened I just had severe pain and had to sit down for a while before I moved. I will watch for these other symptoms. Now I'm getting worried!

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

I would think so but I am not 100% sure and I would rather you have your DH wake you every now and then if he could. Maybe set the alarm?

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Yes, OK, I will have him do that. Better safe than sorry. I don't want to end up with a brain injury.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I was out with my dog and we where racing with him, he turned into his drive way and my dog followed and took the front wheel with her. I tried to dig a hole in the street with my face. My mother who says I am the oldest kid she knows, bought me a biking helmet.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

I dont want to scare you! Only be careful. Concusions can be tricky! Thats all.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

That is a good mom! Safty first! I had back surgery a couple years ago. I dont do much racing!LOL

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

There is probable nothing to worry about. The skull is one of the hardest bones-I should know-and it can take a good hard hit.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I have been know to still do it.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

That is true. Just have the wake up a couple times to be safe! As I said , safty first!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Tell that to my family we are know for weird accidents. Our Doctor just shakes his head when he hears about our late ones.
