I'm back, wonderful time, nice lunch and NO SNOW!! Although they are calling for blizzards at some point, it wasn't today, your prayers certainly helped..
Needless to say I'm tired...2 girls didn't come .. sisters and it was due to having to go to a funeral..so that's expected..
All enjoyed their santa's..again using same products all were different..
Trying to decide here, do I give one more push and drive to Barrie to pick up the 2 Wii systems they have set aside for me instead of tomorrow morning, or do I just relax, have a warm bath and into jammies and put everything back in it's place re tools, equipment I took with me..
The deciding factor will be SIL Marguerite wanted to go to Barrie Michaels store..she's the one who had the accident due to small stroke and they took her license away..Suzanne said she'd bring her tomorrow if need be..
My thoughts were if her son didn't come for a visit today, she might want to go as she was waiting for supplies to do a wreath...
Off to telephone her..if she wants to go then we're off, if not, it's jammie time..
Do have photo's, just have to go through all these boxes and find my camera...
BEST/WORSE & WHAT DID I LEARN TODAY - PT.70
Thanks for the explanation about a lee lol! I went to lunch at 11:00 and my car said it was 35 outside. Good Grief!!
Lol Betty, at least you didn't do what I always do and forget to take the camera.
No Crissy, always the 1st thing I pack..
Called information for e b games just about 5 minutes away in Midland, no listing, now how could there be no listing, so decided to jump in the car and drive there, if they had the 2 - wii systems I'd not have to go to Barrie...
Young man was explaining to another grandparent the + of getting a system for grandchildren..I asked the other clerk if he had any and they said perhaps next week..oh well before they are sold out I'd better make the run to Barrie, started out and only travelled about 5 miles and wow Jeannine your snow has arrived on my door step instead of yours...will be blizzard conditions, could hardly see...so I stopped and called on my cel the music/entertainment store in Barrie mall..and yes they still had my 2 put away..asked would they still keep them if I go in tomorrow instead of tonight and she said of course...so back home I am, going to have a bath, wouldn't you know have an earache...Aline just called, she got back from Florida, picked me up Excedrin Migraine so all I need now is a migraine and I'll be all set..lol
Gradually tonight I'll get the craft room all organized (AGAIN!!), have an easy night of it..imagine, me on the couch watching t.v. - wonder how long that will last...
Should have picked something up for supper but, I'm sure even toast and hot chocolate would hit the spot as I just finished eating at 2:00 with the girls..
Dave's upset because I've been going everywhere with everyone but him. 2 trips to Fayetteville AR for conferences with work, 1 trip to Mississippi for an RU, a trip to Shreveport Louisiana with his best friend's wife, 1 trip to my mom's in Oklahoma City that was including a trip to California to see friends for 2 days, and a trip to North Little Rock and Cabot to a memorial service. What's hilarious is he's the one who has told me to go ahead and go! All count except for the conferences for work that require mandatory attendance, He said when I got home from work today I'm grounded and will have a list of chores to do LOL! I'll let you know what chores he's came up with!
Whenever I travel I always forget one of 3 things, my camera, my pajamas, or my underwear! I pack all on the day I'm leaving just so I don't forget anything.
All the Santas are beautiful Betty!!
...You enjoy a nice relaxing about in Pj's. Though i bet you'll find some "little" thing to do. bummer on your ear aching again...and i hope you Don't need the Excedrine for migrane.
Crissy, you are too funny. Enjoy being grounded...LOL,
Well, Steve is off to the house again! This time he is working on the kitchen, and pulling the rest of the electric wire. Dancing around here cuz it's just about complete!
He is so excited and very well should be. He and all have really done an outstanding job. Can't wait to see the floors. My brother is meeting him up there to help. I am just a bit jelous, I haven't seen him in a year, booohooo. But we are hoping he will come next week too.
OK!! I just gotta tell you all some very good news! Remember Alyssa? Well now our girl, has not only turned 21 this year, She has finished her schooling, and the internship...Passed all...She come over last night with such a big smile to tell us she is done!! 2 weeks vacation and they help her find job placement. Yippee, we will have a celebration tonight! I am so very proud of her.
I am so busy I am losing what little mind I have. lol
But thought i'd pop in to say Tori is doing better today, she had repeat x rays yesterday, her hip isn't as dislocated as it was and the break is healing much quicker than they expected!!!
I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week...
I love the Santa's Betty!! Gorgeous!
Well, he's off tonight so if I'm grounded he's grounded cause he has to stay home and babysit me.
Yay! That is awesome Seed! Congratulations!!!
You ought to be proud of her, give her my congratulations...she's had a hard road to travel but she's accomplished much on her way to womanhood...everything going well at home now for her or has she found her own accommodations??? You and the girls certainly helped and supported her..she was lucky to have you..you must be as proud as though she was your own daughter...
Bet Steve will be pleased when the cottage is finally finished..has he started any new jobs down on the waterfront? I was SOOOO impressed...
Crissy, I have to agree with Judy, you are just tooo much..nice to be grounded though from time to time..you'll get your travelling wings back just in time for the trip you had planned for Christmas..Shreveport right?
I'm sniffing, bit of a sore throad..nothing major just know it's time to relax, look after myself and enjoy this weekend...most of my push is now over..one more day of it, a week Monday with the day painting group and night time group Christmas party here and then lady of leisure...
Next weekend is your thanksgiving right? is it what the 27th? if it is it would have been my 43rd wedding anniversary..hard to believe he's been gone 18 years..just yesterday at times for me..
Just plugged in the lounge blanket, won't go to bed right now, getting things together for me to read or watch and then I don't doubt 5 minutes from the time I hit the couch I'll be sleeping..
Great news Melissa! She's on the road to recovery. Great to hear from you too!
Shoot, Shreveport is next week, Wednesday after work and Thanksgiving Thursday until we decide to come home! He has to work Friday night so we'll need to be home anytime Thursday night, maybe early early Friday morning, who knows! LOL
Melissa wonderful news about Tori..how long before she'll be able to return to school? don't rush it though..tell her I'm asking about her..such a sweetheart...
Busy is good Melissa! Is it with all that you are selling? Helps with christmas $$$ doesn't it..that's why I always do my workshops..I can be extravagant without spending MY money...
This time for sure it's upstairs I go..animals fed, Christmas trees all lit in the 3 rooms, windows, looks soooo cozy...
God truly has blessed me!
You'd better settle down girl...you do more travelling in a month or two than most do in their entire lives...lol
LOL before we moved we went somewhere every weekend. Love it!
Betty-relax and enjoy-I am about to hit the couch and watch some stuff I tevo'd this week too:)
I want to work on my Santa but I'll have to do my chores first.
DH is working tonight of course, so that leaves me by myself....I am so emotionally drained from work this week, that I have no ambition to do anything-I have trades, crafts and cleaning to do:( TOmorrow will be better:)
Hope you all have a good night.......
No rest here, Sage spends Friday nights with us!!!!
Santa hair came today so maybe I will build a nice fire and start another Santa!!!
Yep, sure hope you all enjoy the evening.
Sounds awsom Trisha...I am cleaning up so i can play tomorrow.
ooohhh, yep a friday night fire to soothe and relax...I am going to start one soon too.
Goodnight to everyone going Bettybyes.
and Good Morning to Wonderhug!! Big arm wrap, hope you doing well.
Morning all, sounds as though everyone had a long/hard week..nice to leave it behind..new one starting..
Might have slept in but Sailor had other ideas..kitties wouldn't go out and Sailor was only out for a few minutes...OMG it's cold out there..better that than snow..
Last night on my way home dropped into the IGA (a food chain store) and picked up about 6 boxes so I can do some wrapping this morning, get a start on it so that the back bedroom can look clean again, everything I've purchased for Christmas just thrown in that room..so I've a few hours before leaving for Barrie so might get some done...
Tonight is my SIL Lorraine's 60th birthday party..being held at Paul's (BIL/Boss) both Suzanne and I have decided that as Lenny has to leave for work at midnight and won't be going, that we'll go together, stay 1 hr. and home we come, says she'll use me (old lady excuse) to come home...
Must finish the enclosures for back porch..can do measurements, work inside, get it all ready and then install it..so that is a must for today/tomorrow project..no getting away from it..
Best be on my way, waving to all....
Laura, you are in my thoughts and prayers today, do hope all is well...drop in with a simple 'hi'
OMG you are all still sleeping..got mega wrapping done, sun is shinning so off to Barrie I go..want to be back by 10:30 so I can still enjoy my day!
Hello to all - Happy Saturday too. ha-ha Lots of reading and not much to say to anyone other than hello. I am sitting here and almost finished reading my regular threads and then it is up to do some chores and possibly go out and do errands. I haven't had any energy this week to do anything much at all. I have two scripts at pharmacy that need to be picked up today though, so should get a move on.
Maybe John will go to Pharmacy for me later and I can add one more of going no where all week. What a slug I am.
Anyway, will catch you lovelies later on. Have a great day.
Ruby
Hi, Betty..busy girl. Glad your workshop yeaterday went well. All of your chickens in the Victorian Santa club seem to be working and multiplying.
I tried the cards again; still don't like the ribbon. I think I bought too narrow a ribbon. I am going to try with paper. I have lots of leftover Christmas paper and I will give it a try. Let you know how that goes.
Out today to visit an old boss in the rehab center and then to shop. Local town has Christmas bazaar with 20 houses and businesses selling their wares. I just might find something good! Then maybe a movie. Spending the day doing fun stuff with friends is my way of spend a wonderful Saturday.
Talk tonight.
I finally checked out the Victorian Santa picture thread. They all look so good. I *almost* wish I had joined in the fun but one look at my basement right not reminds me that I'm not allowed to acquire any more craft things until it's tidied - well except for moose hide and beads for Sonora's moccasins and some deer hide that was a cool colour and a needle felting kit and . . . and . . .
I've been doing quite a bit of babysitting lately. I enjoy it and it's nice because it gives us some extra money. The biggest problem is that there's no way I can have the babies in the basement so that means that it's been completely ignored - except for the stuff we keep taking down there that's cluttering up the upstairs. So guess what I'll be doing for the rest of the afternoon.
Finished most of my 'to do' list..just waiting for Greg to drop in..about 1 hr. work for he and I and all is accomplished...
Roads were nice and clear going to Barrie was enjoyable..took approx 5 minutes to spend $610.18 lol but kids will enjoy..easy come easy go they say..
Dropped into my brothers on the way home in Hillsdale, his 2 sons, wives and kids dropped in so was really nice spending time with them...
Got the Wii's..omg couldn't believe how many different attachments there were...Jeannine, should have told me that part..lol..2 of the grandchildren have birthdays before Christmas and Jeff Dec.8 and Greg New Years...know they'll be playing as much as the kids from what I gather so I'll add to them then...
Hard Gillian when you've kids and must be extra cautious when looking after those of others..big responsibility..you'll gradually get everything organized, do bits and pieces each day...
Off to clean the upstairs, lordy you can make a mess when you are wrapping gifts...everything I've bought so far is wrapped...things are now getting easier for me, told you so...this week at work I'll even have time to make Christmas cards...
Off I go, if I sit much longer that will be the end of my energy and believe me I still need more today..
What is a tart burner, and why would you want to burn tarts, anyway?
A tart burner can be interchanged for the scented oils and the tarts are those little either squares or circle shaped peices of wax that you can buy instead of candles

Cute!!
Thanks-I LOVE it:) The ones in the store that are all cute for the holidays are $15-20 and this one cost me about $6;)
Staceypoo you are so creative. Now tell me what can be made from my little international coffee tins. I'm starting to collect yoodles of them. If anyone wants me to save a box full, just let me know. I'll be happy to.
I would paint them (primer coat 1st), maybe put some fabric on the top and ribon around the side of the top-gotta use aleene's not hot glue though-that would melt the lids.....use them for storage, give gifts in them, candy, all kinds of things....
You could make them into piggy banks, a cure sugar container for your table, store seeds, paperclips, rubber bands, seed baggies, buttons, threads, ribbon scraps, beads, I am stil thinking
decoupage on them
