Some close ups of the blooms today. I like this I. purpurea of all that I have grown. This has the most striking blooms. I am not a big fan of I. purpureas because they can become aggressive here in my zone and I don't want them taking over my garden beds! LOL! But this vine and blooms are really so pretty, that I am enjoying this cultivar! :-)

And final bloom. I always get a kick out of the "blocked color" blooms! So pretty and eye-catching! :-) The bloom petal ripped when I moved it. :-(

wow that solid part is really interesting.. my DH just saw it .. He is expecting the same results from me here.. I told him not to hold his breath.. it is a long time until summer! LOL
