Audrey, I still say your Santa's very regal looking.
Trisha, Judy, Phyllis, LK.. please share pics of your Santas here. I think Debra and Deborah haven't completed theirs yet.
Mine needs some touch-ups, debating whether to let it be, or add more glitter.
Good night Sistahs..cya tomorrow.
Nite Jaye. I have glue stuck to my fingers.
Hi Deborah, I just started cutting the fabric for my second Santa.....this is the green one!
Hey there Trisha, I'm still working on my first one. I think I should have not tried to add so much detail to the first one. I still have two more to make.
I'd like to do one for several relatives, when I made a list it turned out to be 12 people!!!! I don't think everyone will get one this year....may have to do some birthdays, anniversaries etc.
I may not make one for myself unless I decide to, he will be a plain ol Santa. I'm tired. Been at the hospital with a very sick relative all day.
MORNING!!!
Good mornin, Was gone for the weekend. Got in last night, had a wonderful time. Missed ya'll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Morning all..
Just got the kids to school and am getting ready to go see about some holiday window painting work.. Also need to stop and tell my sister happy birthday today while Im out. I also made some calls this am and am attending a workshop locally to try to get help with stopping the problem with ethe mortgage on Thursday if they call me back.. so thats a good thing..
Everyone have a great Day and I will check in later..
Linda they are beautiful.
Linda, I sure do like your colors!!
I bet you do, you have the same thing!!!
Eveyone stay warm today.
LK
Good luck today, Donna... hope you get lots of windows to paint.
Thank you LK for the coffee... beautiful Santas.
I'm thinking that maybe I missed out on not making the santas. Maybe next year. How many yards of velvet does it take to make the robe for one?
BTW... if any of you still need some velvet for your santa... let me know... I have several yards of royal blue, burgundy, silvery blue, and brown.
I peeked in on the Santa workshop yesterday... sounds like you are all have such fun making them.
Beautiful mailbox, Donna! Best of luck today. If they see your portfolio they will not hesitate to hire you.
Marion, how are you feeling today? Better? BTW, I meant Prevacid - not whatever I said yesterday.
Deborah, hope you got some rest. Sorry to hear you have a sick relative. Hope they are improving.
Today will be busy. Will be taking DFIL to a doctor's appt this afternoon and lots to do before then. Errands to run afterwards. Master Gardener meeting tomorrow morning and working at med center tomorrow afternoon and Wed. afternoon. Working again Friday morning. It's busy season at the med center! Can you believe Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK?!!!
I'm excited - just learned DH's neice/spouse/2 kids and nephew/3 kids will be joining us the day after Christmas for a few days. DH's DB and DSIL (their parents) always come for about 10 days at Christmas so we will have lots of family. This is the first Christmas without DMIL - so it will be bittersweet - but glad they will all be here for 94 yr old DFIL. I love to have someone to cook for!
Good morning everyone!
Good luck Donna. Hope you get lots of offers, and some relief with your mortgage.
BJ, these sistahs are pros!!! If I were to choose a winner, blindfold me please!! Beautiful Santas!!
How are you feeling today btwy?
I hope Marion's doing much better. Maid M.... chicken soup, broth, warm toddy today, you hear? Want you to be at 110%!
Deborah and Debra, how are you both coming along with your Santas? I'm pretty sure Sistah Deborah slept with some glue on her!!
Mighty big holiday season you're going to have, Debra. It's so good to have family around to share time with during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Shame it only comes once a year... just for the get togethers... not for the gift buying. LOL
Jaye... I'm going to survive... I'm sure. I'm just soooo tired of complaining.
Why is it Debra's posting didn't show up on my screen, till now??
Debra, I'm sure you'll be the perfect hostess and the most popular chef for your family guests!! Anyone that is not intimidated cooking for a large party must be a great cook.
Complain all you want.. better to release it then turn it into more stress..
Well, yesterday morn, and this morn, I woke up sick at my stomach. Yesterday it passed and I felt really good all day, until I ate supper... went to bed early after taking a pp. I'm waiting this morning to see if it will pass again...
But, I'm going by the doctor's office this morning to get some of the pills he said might help while I'm waiting for a neurology appointment. I didn't want to take them, cause he said they would just cover up the symptoms and the neurologist might have a problem with that... but, there's something about just knowing that he has a "fix" for the pain, that makes me want to take it anyway.
You take those pills, BJ! Just don't take anything on an empty stomache.
That's another problem, Audrey... If the doctor is right... I never have an empty stomach... which is causing all these problems.
Bless your heart, BJ. What a mess. But, like Jaye said, take the pills for pain. Adding more stress to your already stressed digestive system can't be good.
Just checking in again. Thanks for all the soup--better but not 100%. Fever is coming and going--I guess my annual sinus infection. Over with now and the holidays should be fine.
Stay out of trouble Sistah!!!
Oh, Jaye ..... I love cooking for holidays. It's easier to cook large quanitities than small in my opinion - more fun anyway. And I like the traditions that come with the holiday meals. My grandmother was a very good cook as were her 6 sisters. Family reunions always had chocolate meringue pie, chicken and dressing, roast beef, home grown beans, corn, tomatoes, okra ..... I enjoyed my grandmother's cooking as a child but didn't APPRECIATE it the way I do now as an adult.
I'm a food-a-holic and associate all good things with food. If we ever didn't have family or friends to feed for holidays I would have to find something else to do - serve food at a homeless shelter or anywhere there are large groups of people.
Marion, I didn't realize you were running a temp. Did you get antibiotics? don't mess around with a sinus infection - they don't go away on their own and can get very serious. (guess you don't need another daughter wagging her finger at you but I didn't ask permission did I?)
Yep... one of the hardest things I've had to learn is to cook for one... even cooking for two is tough... after raising 3 boys who had an endless appetite...
Yes, Marion... don't mess with a sinus infection... I'm sure you know that if you have it annually... PLEASE, get well soon.
Susan must have played with the pebbles in the old room. This is what she had posted.
"Hi All,
Well looks like I missed allot while I was gone...All of you look like you had so much fun... I loved all the pictures... It is always so nice when we get to meet each other.. I have now met 5 people from Dave's garden... I can't wait to meet more...
Well went to my plant show and had a blast... I am still tired and have to pot up allot of AV's... I am TIRED ... So this is short but I will be back a little later... I missed you all so much...
Huggers,
Susan
Fleur, you have mail!
Good morning. Stayed up waiting on the phone to ring. My aunt has been in ICU since Friday. The last 24 hours was a crucial time for it. No phone call came so I slept in. She made it over the roughest of times last night. I'm thankful and still praying she'll get better each passing day.
Marion, Take care of yourself. And that goes for you too, BJ.
Donna, I love your mailbox painting. You have a wonderfully blessed talent.
Debra, I know what you mean about cooking for a crowd is better than cooking for two. I'm so glad you have such a happy Thanksgiving surrounded by loved ones. I learned how to cook Thanksgiving all by myself when I cooked the first big one when I was 50 without my mama helping me. It turned out fine since I kept her on the phone while I was preparing it. LOL
