Thank you Thank you for the compliments. I tried going door to door last christmas but most around here already had someone lined up. I even offered a discount price and had no takers but Im hoping this year maybe I can get some side work to make extra money to help Max out with the mortgage issue. I tried to do halloween this year but again no takers except my sister..

I will try to get pics done today of the jewelry and blanket I made last night .. I cant stand to see people pout..lol

Here is the witch I painted for her...

Morning girls ...just barely uh.
well I started workin on another santa last night with some of the material I picked up yesterday and had to switch over to the seam tape to make the hems since my machine decided it didn't' want to play nice and bunch the thread up on the bottom so no more sewing til it gets cleaned and timed *sigh*...another one of those times ya wish ya hadn't sold the old machine Dh had when we got married that you used as a back up when sewing for others.

Donna Lovely windows and yes get out there and hit those places up for their windows I used to do that to the windows at the Burger King I worked at in High school for the holidays.

My one brug outside is loaded with buds again too crazy plants just don't know the seasons do they.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning Phyllis.. workshop has just begun.
Donna, I do hope there are plenty out there that still would pay good money for your talent. Start early next year, as Stacey advised.

Come on over to the workshop, and watch us create something...

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Briefly saying hello. Doing absolutely nothing today--just waiting for the computer to boot up and reading the threads has done me in so bad to bed I go!! Full blown, cold or maybe sinus complete with fever!! I don't have the time for this but.........

Will check in when I don't feel so bad! Linda Kay, BJ keep everyone under control please.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

You got it Marion, sending you a big cup of hot broth for you to sip on. You take it easy, and keep us posted OK?
LK

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LK

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

If you're still reading this, Marion.. shame on you!! OFF TO BED!!!
That's an order!!!!

Wretched Mess didn't do much when outdoors... buds kept falling off. It hates the heat here. But once brought indoors, got some blooms.

That Puppy Love will turn white as the bloom gets bigger.
I love the wreath Audrey, you sure can craft!
Nice fabrics too, I have the woodsy striped one and that will be used as ice cream cones.
What a sweetheart you are LK.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Aman to that!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Audrey, love the colors of your fat quarters, so pretty, what are you going to make with them?
Hope you like the bath smellies? Just something small to send you for your Birthday. I know it is early, but I had a bunch a pressies to mail, so I just mailed them all out at once.
And that wreath is beautiful!!! How long did it take you to make?
LK

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Love my stuffies! I always like pretty bath things!I havent decided what I'm going to make yet. Maybe a lap quilt for me! I'm still going to make Lisa's (DD) boss a quilt, but I don't know if I have enough fabric that will match, yet!
Actually, I made that wreath year before last! It doesn't take long, I picked up pine cones in the front of the house, and just stuck in a few"picks" here and there, along with some flowers off a $3.oo bush from WM! I think I'll add some gl;itter to the pinecones. I really enjoy making things like that!

Doesn't matter about early BD presents! It's all good!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Jaye, while my instant reaction was to say no, there was the weird mind link between DH and I with the oh, oh, oh, Green Giants so…

Donna, those are great! I love the coffee lizard on the other page.

Not sure who mom was replying to but, yes, allergies severely affect me for at least 4 months a year. I also get sinus pressure issues, that’s what gave me my last bad headache. I do get colds though, side effect of having a kid in school. Especially if I get stressed out or depressed my body just removes all my immunities so I’ll get sick and “slow down”; a broken coping mechanism from when I was a kid and got to stay home from school I think.

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Acckkk Just lost my entire post.. ugghh

Love the angels they are very pretty especially the WM with the triple skirts. Most of mine are small except Frosty Pink, Super Nova, Strawberry Creme and the bloomed nicely this year. Have some yellows rooting and one orange which I am very excited about.

Doe your wreath makes mine look so sad..lol It really needs a makeover and I was thinking I have extra stuff I may have to do that one night. Aslo showing my newness but what is a fat quarter?

Made a list of places to stop with paints, pictures and ready to go to work. I think I have enough photos I should be able to make a portfolio and just charge a flat rate per job depending on size not hourly. I tend to get into details and I figure if I spend extra time so Im happy with it they shouldnt have top worry about how long it takes. I can do a few a day if the winds carry me to the right shops. Called Win Dixie and will call the GM tomorrow , hes unhappy with who did it last year. Just have to stay some what close sine the truck is old and Max worries so much ( he forgets my dad was a mechanic). ..

Well I better see what Max is doing in the attic.. Maybe I can get him to bring the tree down.. Christmas has always been my favorite holiday for decorating.. Talk to you all later.

Pic is of mailboxes I did for a while..

A fat quarter is a half yard of fabric, split down the center. each half is a "fat" quarter of a yard! A quilter's term! We just had a fat quarter swap, and BJ says we're gonna have one every 3 mo.!! You game?

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Sounds interesting.. I may be in 3 months but will have to wait and see how things go around the homefront first. Also just getting started with the machine so I dont even know where to begin.

Thanks for the explination though I was really wondering what size that was. When you do the swaps are they certain types of fabric or just whatever you find and think the other person in the swap would like?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Donna... that mailbox is beautiful... thank you for sharing your art.

Yes, We will swap fat quarters again in Jan, then quarterly afterward.
but, we'll do it in the sewing/quilting threads instead of here.
that's a very good explanation of what a FQ is, Audrey... thank you.

Good luck tomorrow, Donna... go door to door with your pictures... bet you'll get lots of windows to paint.

Nice fabrics you got there Audrey... Phyllis did good.
Also a nice wreath... you did good.

Also beautiful brugs, Jaye... You always do good with your brugs...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

The fabics are 100% cotton, and the color choice is yours. You state which color you like, mail it to your swap partner, then your partner goes shopping and gets the colors you posted.
LK

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey BJ, how you doing?
LK

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, we just did a sort of "test" swap here on SI... and what we did was to have each one wanting to participate dmail me with their preferred colors... then I tried to match them up with like color preferences. One person mailed their FQ to the other... when they were received, they took those fat quarters and coordinated fabrics with them, and mailed the new FQ back to the other person. We swapped 10 FQ... but, we'll probably swap 12 next year.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

well, LK... I just ate dinner... so time will tell.
But so far, today I've felt very good.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, we will just have to keep saying our prayers for you, and that you stay pain free!
Have a great nights sleep.
LK

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you dear.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

BJ, do you have a date scheduled for the neurologist already?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Nope... I'll call tomorrow to see if the nurse has scheduled it yet...

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm glad you had a good day, BJ!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Want to see my Victorian Santa?

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Audrey, very cool!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Thanks! The next one will be purple. It will look better. I've worked out the kinks!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

My preference would be blue. Though I'd love to do a realist St. Nick in period clothing.
