It got down to freezing last night! But will be in the 50's maybe today.

It is 33 here this morning, but it has not affected the plants. All are doing well, even my brug blooms! Weather station said it was only supposed to be 40!!!

Got down to 32 here last night, and it's 36 right now... suppose to get all of 41 today... think I'll stay inside today and sew.

After taking that long nap yesterday, I went to bed and slept all night last night... started waking up around 4am, but didn't get up till 5... but, I do feel rested... Can't even imagine what I did to make me so tired...

*snicker, snicker*... yes, Jaye... I know... made a big batch of hot cocoa mix yesterday... it's easier on my tummy than coffee... and WE both love it on a cold night before going to bed.

Jaye I received the cuttings yesterday. Some of them had white bumps on them. I put them in water. I have them sitting in my kitchen window so I will remember to change the water. When I received cuttings from another DG member she told me to put them in root hormone and plant them only 1 out of 8 survived. And now that one has a new starting at the base and it about 4 inches tall. What should I do with it?

Who is spreading the bug? It seems all of you that are east of me are getting sick. STOP IT!!!!!

BJ, Which candle did you burn first?

I have a flower pot that I pick up at a thrift store. It has poinsettas on it. I want to plug the drain hole and make a candle, but I can't make up my mind what scent or color to use. Any suggestions?

a Christmas scent... Christmas Mulberry is delicious... one of the scents Stacey sent me.

I haven't burned one yet... can't decide yet which one I'll keep and which ones will be gifts... Don's on his way home, and I'll let him help me decide.

Good Cindy, white bumps means they're on their way to rooting.
I normally wait till a few roots start potruding and then pot them up. Again, use potting soil mixed with at least 1/3 perlite. I always want a good guarantee of GREAT drainage.

Cranberry will be perfecr for that pot, Cindy!

BTW... the bug that ate the leaves on my little brug... couldn't find it the first night... so it finished eating the leaves the second night... found it dead on top of the dirt in the pot yesterday morning... it was a cut worm...
I don't have a clue how it got on my sun porch though.

How long before the root show up? My brug outside is LOADED with buds, and it's 44 outside..........Heading for hot tub.....BBL ^_^

Audrey, hope it's not your kitty. Brug leaves are poisonous, but somehow all my cats here knew to stay away from them, except for Princeton... he chewed on some brug leaves and threw up all day long. Princeton's the one that knew 2 plus 2 is for, but don't know why....

Wow cant beleive I slept so late but then again I waited up on Max to come home until 330 this morning. Made a few necklaces and a knot together fleece blanket for the couch in the living room. I was surprised how easy it was and it actually came out very nice. Spent some time looking into the machine last night and reading up on rag quilts (i really like them and think that may be my first try) once I get the machine figured out that it is.

Your brugs look very happy I must say. They are one of my passions too! My frosty Pink is blooming its heart out but I havent looked since last night. It was almost 80 yesterday and the temps droppped into the lower 40s last night so they are more than likely very unhappy. Great plants and I too have quite a few cuttings rooting up of different varieties. Good thing they are small so I have room to bring them in if need be.

I will also add a few here of my chritsmas window mural I do for my sister on her barbershop window.. Its one of my favorites..

O my football team is the Buckeyes,, Ohio State University.. I grew up right outside of columbus and was always up on campus for games since it was only a half hour drive. Makes a fan for life starting out in that atmosphere.

Well I better run. Need to go get the kids soon.
