You can get 24" under-counter lights-- they seem to work Ok--check WM--they have the best prices I have found on those-- but 48" are cheaper
November Blooms #3
Yes, the 48" are cheaper in the long run. However, since you are limited in space, and cannot get larger than 36" shelves . . . seems to me I have seen individual 36" light fixtures somewhere - could be from Walmart. Either way, there ARE 18" undercounter type lights . . . you could get a few of those instead.
I have a lot of those under the cabinets and I think my fixtures are 2 feet..........actually you could get the 36" and still buy 24" if you need to...............I have a few pics to show. Maybe I should learn from this experience of going out of town and never even giving the plants a thought. They looked fantastic which means I am overwatering as they were last watered on Saturday night until today.
gotta go see who Larry King has on first...............
Beautiful!

Question is . . . how big do I let them get before I try to separate?
Pinch your kohlerias like crazy so you get a nice bushy plant, Hillbilly_Gran.
I like to let mine get just a little bigger than what you have...............remember, if the leaf is in good condition, you can just re stick it and you will have more babies in a hurry because the mother leaf has so many roots...............
Gail . . . are you home, or are you still up here somewhere?
I am home but still can't wake up. I stayed up half the night and had to have the kitty at the vet at 7 this morning.
Hi everyone! Just checking in for a few minutes. I've got a few things blooming that I snapped pics of this morning, so I'll get them ready and post a few.
I think Gail mentioned that my husband had developed a blood clot after knee surgery. Well, that one was just superficial, but he went on to develop an extensive deep vein clot, which can be life threatening. He spent a little time in the hospital, and hopefully now is on the road to getting better. Still has lots of pain and swelling, but he's alive, so we're thankful! Thanks to those of you who said prayers for him.
Raingazer, So good to hear everyting is headed in the right direction. Hope your DH is up and around soon. I didn't know what happened and was wondering where you were.
Good to see you post again. All the Sinningias you sent me are growing gang-busters!!! You gave me a new addiction.......like I needed another one. LOL
Roxanne
Forgot to say:
Great Streps as always Gail!
HillGran, Love that variegated foliage on that Koleria. Who hybridized that one?
Syrumani, Love your strep, Is that african violet in the picture "Irish Flirt"? It's GORGEOUS!!!

Hi Roxanne! For the last month it's been a constant battle to try and get my husband taken care of. Doctors don't always listen like I wish they would. We're still quite worried, but he seems to be on the proper medications now, so we're just praying there won't be anymore setbacks and he will be back to normal in a month or so.
Glad those Sinns are growing well for you! So many of my plants have suffered horribly, or even died, in the last month, but they're just plants. I can replace them. Can't replace my precious husband! :o)
This is one of the very few Gessies I have blooming right now. Strep. 'Heidi' Not head-over-heels for it, but it's pretty enough. LOL
And I'm so excited about these...Holiday Cacti! I've never been able to get them to bloom before, so I did everything I could to get Gail to let me send these to her. She wouldn't take them, so I left them outside til the night we were to get our first freeze. I didn't really want them, but couldn't let them die, so I brought them in. They put on buds almost immediately and are just gorgeous!
This is Schlum. 'Christmas Fantasy' The buds aren't fully open yet, but I wanted to show them anyway. They are a beautiful peach color!
Edited to add: Thanks for not taking them, Gail! ;o)
