HOORAYYYY!!! I finished my ornaments, woo-hoo! I enjoyed making them but am glad I finished up too. I can't wait to see all the pretties you girls are sending. This turned out to be so much fun!

I went to the post office and they had 3 nice big plastic "terra cotta" pots sitting by the trash...Brand new! Just had dead plants in them so they threw the whole thing away. Well, you can bet it taking take me long to get them and recycle, LOL! Little thing, but made my day.

Hey sisters and brothers, got my wonderful GS to help me put the finishing touches on the ornaments, now just gotta glue a lil bit and boxed up.. whew! Pauline is planning on peeling potatoes for thanksgiving and that is awsome since she is so unable to move or anything.. I am wheeling her into the kitchen when I get over there and she and I are going to make HER Giblet Gravy, and she will peel potatoes.. and direct her real daughter, Paula on how to make her Cranberry salad.. I am so pumped that she is hyped up to animation for the holidays. She told me she planned on hanging in there until after and I think that is great! I wish she could just PLAN on Getting up for good! LOL ( wishful thinking on my part) uggh work tommorrow.. packed up another box of seeds for some students to send off.. I had more fun with that box than anything so far! LOL..
snow.. brrrrr... it is coming for us.. the plummer came, we got alot done today.. no more leaks, stop ups, and a new workig light outlet, plus he fixed my downstairs faucets to be in working order so I can be like Bonnie and use a hose to waterz! YAY! no more lugging!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

Welcome Kathy & Posey !!! {{HUGS}} you'll love it here...it is now my 'home' on DG :o)

Grrr to all you ornament makers that are done!! I have such a ways to go :( sometimes I complicate things...sure would have been easier to string some beads or something instead!

I received some really bad news today.... cried for about 2 hours with DH being a sweety and patting my back the whole time, made him late to his meeting.... but glad he stayed with me. Tears are dried up now, thankfully.
7 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer. As soon as I found out, well, I was in shock cause I was only 32 and too young! lol! I begged my insurance to just do a hysterectomy....but no, they said they had a simple procedure etc, etc. so.... that 'simple procedure' (LEEP) turned out to be 6 procedures because they couldnt get it all and I had to keep going back every 6 weeks until finally on april fools day they said it was all gone. same insurance provider told me 2 yrs ago that I now only need to be re-checked every 3 years. well, I made an appointment last week, and doc didnt want to do pap because I wasnt 'due' for another year. I insisted....doc gave in. Doc called today and I have stage 1b cervical cancer AGAIN! so, I begged and pleaded to do the hysterectomy...and once again told no. just LEEP procedure(s) again. these were VERY painful for me and the meds that htey had me take made my nauseated. I've already lost 22 lbs in the last month from the gall bladder surgery and nausea.... so REALLY dont want to go thru more of these procedures again!! especially not if I may wind up with it again in another 7 years!!

I think my only recourse is to appeal to the head of the dept and scream and shout.... and then pray and cross my fingers! so if any of you feel like prayin for me.... just pray that they take it ALL and I only have one 6 week recovery time. I think if I cant garden come spring...I WILL go insane! these last few months of staying indoors due to heat stroke, then the gall bladder surgery have wreaked havoc on my state of happiness... I finally can at least do fall clean up and a little cement work...and then got hit with this today :(

sorry to be so bummed!

oh and I DID NOT forget the brug cuttings for those I promised... I will ship them with the gloves in the next few days...x my heart!

hope you all had a brighter day!

AnjL

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey HBA sisters and bro's! Sheesh, I just woke up from a nap on the couch, and again, I feel awful. I don't know why I didn't just fight the sleepiness, now I will be up all night, LOL@

Anjl, from the bottom of my heart I am so sorry you are going through this. I had cancer cells on my cervix at 19 and had surgery, but basically it was only a D & C. It seems like you have been through alot of late, but you are a strong woman I know, with the support of a loving family, and your family here too. Please know that we are here with you during this difficult time, and let us know what we can do.

Deb that is so sweet that your GS helped you finish the ornaments! And really great about Pauline and the Thanksgiving dinner! I'll bet her giblet gravy is divine! I remember my Grandmammy sitting and making the fruit salad when she could no longer stand and cook......Sweet memories of her still helping prepare the meal and overseeing things

Athens, PA(Zone 5b)

That is just too crappy for words AnjL☻so I will send up some big time prayers and hope you contact Cancer Centers of America and get a real forever cure soon☺

Phyllis, that is a lucky angel baby you have there and....yes, I fully believe that is exactly what Grandmas are for♥UHOH! Time to crank up the ole Snowblower☻

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Oh, AnjL I'm so sorry to hear your bad news. I'll surely add you to my prayers. I think you should yell and scream to the head of the insurance co. It just isn't fair. Don't know why your doctor doesn't get on the band wagon and insist that you need a hysterectomy. I'm praying for you gal, and hope they see it your way.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

well the insurance is Kaiser....need I say more? I dont even think the yelling and screaming and beggin would help, but it might make me feel better :)

funny thing is, when I had the emergency gall bladder surgery last month... I told the surgeon then, while your in there take the appendix, and the uterus and oh, you can have my tonsils too! I was trying to save them money...and figured eventually they would all need to come out... I dont need them :o) figured I'd loose about 15 lbs if they took it all.... surgeon wouldnt go for it tho! lol!

I now wish he would have taken my joke more seriously!

back to gluing and finding water bottle caps! lol!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

anjl... gosh dog.. I know this had to hit you hard!! I think I would get a second opinion... first off that DR didn't even want to do the pap smear... what could it have been IF you had waited?? I had a hysterectomy at 38.. but I really wished I had left my ovaries... (sorry you bro's..lol).. now I have Osteoporosis... please don't take this sitting down!! You bet you will be in my prayers, and even at my church!! Yep I agree with Karen.. Lu and Pegi... you go girl!!... we are here for you!!

YAY Debra... I know that is a relief getting all the "honey do's" done, even if Honey didn't do them..lol... OH I am soo proud of Pauline... maybe she could do something the day before and be rested for the Thanksgiving meal?? Just a thought.. Paula is so lucky to have you. My SIL is not worth killing even though in her fantasy world she always has thought she has helped sooo much... but I won't go there..lol

TY girls for the sweet comments on my GH.. I am very excited, and Lyle told me last night, he is going ahead and get all the shelves, benches etc built now... earlier he said it might be spring for those, so I am in double heaven right about now! IF they can get it built before we get another frost..lol.. I am sooo lazy and just don't want to have to haul them anymore, except in the GH!!
Lyle found out today that his pain pump implant will be Dec. 17th. I am going to go ahead and schedule the cervical surgery for myself.. IF he can do it pretty soon. I have to be over it some before Lyle has this pain pump surgery, and I also put Momma on Hospice today. I haven't said anything before now, cause truthfully I just couldn't talk about it.. but I feel sooo good for doing this, and now Momma will get the care, and pain relief she deserves!! The male nurse that will be Mommas nurse made me see that I need to go ahead and have it done now, while Momma is not too bad... Looks like we all have our lil troubles, but I do know God IS in control.. we just have to believe!!

Athens, PA(Zone 5b)

♥Heaps of blessings on to you beck, I know I believe and believe in you♥ Now off to bed I go.......night all you goodies☺

oh anjl im sorry to hear that. both my x mil and my current mil have had that . and neither one got the whole thing removed . my x mil same thing happened hers came back 1 year later . my mil had some procedure done and so far so good . i cant believe they put money before people . it makes me soo mad ! i always have to argue for my self . i had a bad reaction to a spinal block when i had my 2nd son, so i wanted an epidural with the 3rd. the anesthesiologist gave me major attitude and said they just messed up and it was a fluke . i was like no im not risking it And you arnt putting the cath in until im numb . boy they hated me . the spinal block is cheaper and easier for the anesthesiologist and faster for the surgeon but horrible for me . oh and i wanted my t3 and t4 checked for my thyroid . i just wasnt feeling just right , and the nurse said whose been talking to you about t3 we dont check that . like its some thing i have no business knowing . i said what? and they added it for "my piece of mind".lol
well that was long and rambly lol sorry . i could go on forever about the medical system. fight for your rights anjl!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I will jump to the new thread in a moment, but just wanted to add my prayers here for 1Anjl. Please insist on the treatment you deserve.

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

Oh, Anjl... I am so sorry the ins co is giving you such a run around.. that kind of stress you don't need. Guess you need to start faking miserable monthlys... I do mean absolutely miserable..... tell your dr about horrible pain before and during... that will help encourage the need for the hysterectomy! I can't belive that your ins does not require every 6 month pap with they history of cancer.. that should be mandatory.

Eunice, MO(Zone 5b)

Tammie is right, tell doc how miserable you are every month. google for good symptoms. Fake it big time!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

uh oh... you all are makin me post on the old thread...think those horns are growing back again :oD

I do have a plan :o) I'm going to the head of obgyn tomorrow and telling them no procedure unless hysterectomy..... I'll wait it out if I have to until it gets bad enough. other friends who went thru similar stuff with same ins co told me it worked for them..... so, I am gonna go in there with horns and tail full grown and TELL them how its gonna be. wish me luck!!

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

I got my hysterectomy approved by having large clots in constant periods anjl, times that were painful and lasted much longer than they should. Dr. never questioned, said if I had that it was time for the hysterectomy. Try that approach.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

I already told her that :( doc said that just comes with age...this doc was really abrupt and her bedside manner was absolutely horrible!

I already went online tonight and changed docs ^_^ hopefully the new doc, who has been in the practice over 20 yrs and graduated from a college here in the good ole USA (unlike most of the docs with my provider) will be more approving of my decision.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Anjl I also have Kaiser and I have a great doctor. I haven't had any serious problems so can't say what surgeons will say. Brought to mind what my DH went through when he was having pains and urologist said he wasn't and never did a check on his prostate. Well, this went on for a while then he said he wouldn't go back to the same doctor so they gave him another and he did biopsy (?) and discovered a very aggresive cancer. He went through radiation for 42 days and no more cancer. That was 6 years ago and they said cancer is back but they are keeping track of him. He lost a kidney due to cancer, found by a cat scan our doctor ordered. He has had good care. A lot of doctors have "I don't care" attitude which really stinks. Praying that you get some good results with new doctor and your problems will be taken care of.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Yes... you do what you know you need to do anjl!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Prayers going ot you for a new Dr, and a new look at treatment for you.
take care girl.
LK

Phyllis we are on #38 now sweetie ☺

Eunice, MO(Zone 5b)

I have been dashing in and reading then dashing back out to bring up wood. Terrible clouds today and strong wind. It is not supposed to bring anything in but I have shoveled "flurries" by the ton. I don't believe anything those weather liars tell. I have eyes and I know cold when I feel it and believe me I feel it LOL and that is rathr a novelty cause these last few years I have not felt the cold much.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

They say thiswinter here is suppose to be colder with alot more SNOW....Nooo
I've been sing for the last few days...
Oh the weather outside is frightful and the fire is delightful..
So since I've no place to go..
Let it snow..Let it snow..Let it snow..
Thinking i'm gonna be singing this for awhile longer....
But I don't want any snow on SATURDAY....hear me old man Winter...

Eunice, MO(Zone 5b)

I may have no place to go but I still do not want snow in major amounts. Still have to trudge thru it to take care of outside pets and carry up wood.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Kathy we are on a new thread now sweetie....we have to start a new one every now and then as they get so many posts on them.

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/925296/

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

TG all my pets are gone and wood is in the cellar with the furnance...
Only have to go out once..cut it load it and throw it through the woodshoot....done...
Everyone else has the outdoor woodstoves...
I said noooooooo when we got our new one....don't wanna have to go outside and fix fire.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

we know but there's more action over here then there..teeheehee

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)
