yep... but i guess the pic didn't show the bud... here's another of a tree that people hate around here... it's an invasive tree, but it has the best color for out area. I planted the thing as a baby, and i didn't KNOW it was a tree..lol... we need to cut one fork down as it's already damaging the tin on the roof... just one of those things that isn't that high up on our prioity list... now.. don't look real close, cause this is a flower bed that I have only passed by all summer..lol... My priorities have been elsewhere on this too...lol The tree in front is a satsuma tree.. not many left cause it's the tree closest to the house, and Lyle has just about eaten them all

hey... don't think I am not already making plans to have as many of the brugs as I can get..lol... and I do have a pretty good start now..lol... I am wanting to try to get more "named" ones, not that I really care about the name.. just so I will know what I have. They are all going in the ground come spring. I just haven't totally decided where I want to put them, but I have been thinking I want to make a row of them on either side of the driveway... ahhh what a heavenly thought, coming up the driveway at night..lol... BUT I would have to haul water for some of them... soooo i might not better put them as far down as I wanted to... Lyle also wants to rip all the shrubs from the front flower bed, and that is another excellent place to put them right off the front porch... that might be the better choice, and put the shrubs along the driveway.. TY girl...lol... you just helped me make a decision...lol

I really don't think I can push the zone thing that far but i'm gonna try....LOL
I already have Easter Lilies coming back and my alstroemeria's...So I did push it alittle...

Hey Deb! OMG what a handsome young man! He looks JUST LIKE YOU!!! Could be your twin you look so young! I went back to Lowe's this morning to try and buy more seedling trays but they were all out, and of course WalMart was. You have to catch is JUST right around here. The seeds and trays come in sometime in January or February and they are snatched up quickly.

I am working on my Christmas ornaments right now and not having fun with the "tiny" work, LOL! I hope you all like them anyways, they may not be real pretty but they are made with love for you.....

Getting cold here...Supposed to be 31 tomorrow night. I guess the heater will get it's first trial in the greenhouse. Sounds like Lyle is really going to town on yours Becks....I know how excited and happy that makes you.

Phyllis, where you at girlfriend? Where was it you said you were raised up? I saw a countdown on the top 10 Armpits of the United States on a travel show, as in the most boring towns in America and I swear one of the towns they mentioned was where you used to live....Wish I could think of it now. Karen... lol.. ladybugs and menbugs.. i love it! really really cold here .. dragged in my big hot pink impatien basken, it is seeding and just couldn't let it go, also brought in the lions' tail, and the baby helens flowers and double headed cone flowers I have been growing from seeds, they are preeniels, and can leave them out but have to get them used to warmth again as they are going out in the mail.. clear to france.. hope they make it. I mailed your packet out yesterday.. hope you like it.. only have 4 ornaments done, need to start on the other 11 tommorrow after work.. I am getting sick again, I can feel it, thought it was just from hollering last night, but it feels like its that "crud" coming back.
took an antibiotic already tonght with soup.. hope that works..;/ can't wait to see becks gh.. am so excited for her..

back for the movie... Beverly Hills Chihuahua was cute....bot not $25 + popcorn and sodas cute! LOL! Changeling was a much better movie....so you all have to see that when it comes to your area!

dinner was popcorn and soda :o) I havent had a soda in years....and since the gall bladder surgery, I seem to crave them. gotta cut those out! lolol!

I too will be working on those tiny ornaments tonight, hope to finish them tomorrow and ship them out !!

I have another bruggie budding up too! I know its one I havent seen bloom yet, but too dark out there to read the tag! I just hope it doesnt get too cold for it.... wanna see those blooms THIS year! lol!

Help..did anyone video tape Ghost Whisperer tonight? Mom messed up and I did not tape it either... will pay to have the tape mailed to me... after you watch it.. we are sooo disappointed. This is one episode we hate to miss and it is one show that they do not have available on line either if you miss it.. you miss it. Darn it.. any one have any other suggestions? All my brugs are in.. my atrium looks like a jungle with brugs, palms, one bananna and everything else I own.. except my hibiscus which are in the potting shed.

Movies, I haven't seen one in so many years I wouldn't know how to act. I really don't miss them either, guess I am getting old.

I picked up some small seed trays, only holds twelve plants, at our local 99 cent store a few months back and I just used one for the first time. Planted some seeds and I see they are germinating. I am so happy when I see little greenies popping out of the soil. Just to keep them growing is my next move. Keeping an eye on my plumeria seeds too. Still have summer weather so plants don't know how to act.

I use the trays and plastic tray covers that pies, relish trays, veggie trays, plastic water bottles cut in half, just about anything that has a bottom, and a clear tight fitting dome lid. I am a recycler.. Goodcents and tall pie holders seem to give me the most space for seedlings. The tray kits i bought at wally world last winter don't have high enough tops.

Got abreak in the rain, so popping in to see what everybody up to. I have decided to give up on the yard for the moment. Had big sections all cleaned, raked and burned and now I peake dout the door and everywhere is covered again in oak an dhickory leaves. Think I wil just wade through the leaves til we get enough storms to get them all off the trees. I love my trees all excep tfo rthis time of the season. Y anever realiz ehow many leaves are some of these century old oaks til you have to rake them up.

Gonna be a wild day today racing to get things all covered and bring babies all in to the kitchen in the trailer. Low 20's here tonight and tommorrow night and just when I was nice and toasty warm these past couple of nights, back out with the sweaters and ski hat for additional warmth.

My early present to me arrived yesterday. Thank goodness Wretche dMess sure don't look like me. Now to get it potted and keep it alive.

I forgot what somebody said to use for fertilizer rates. If ya don't mind can ya tell me again? Have no idea in all the back threads which one it on.

I'll have a cuppa Joe this morning Ella...and I'm bringing the donuts. Lazy Saturday so I didn't feel like cooking. There are bear claws, danish, glazed, a whole variety so get what you want.

Brrrrr. It is cold here. Tonight will be cold too, 31. Of course I am worried about my plants and yard, but I am excited too. I love cold weather and have been a little unhappy we haven't had any. I suppose if I lived in a freezing cold state like some of you for most of the winter I wouldn't..It's just that we don't usually get much cold weather here until after Christmas and it just doesn't seem like the holidays to me without it. Sort of like Christmas in Hawaii, LOL! It puts me in the spirit! I'm trying something new tonight, I duct taped bubble wrap into long tall bags and I'm just going to slip the bag over my in ground brugs and tie off at the bottom, and push the mulch higher to cover the tie off.

Any of ya'll having a big Thanksgiving? I am cooking the works but there won't be many here this year. Just my two daughters, me and hubby, 1 daughter's fiance, and my elderly 91 year old aunt. A nice restful day.

Here is my standard menu.....dressing and gravy, cranberry sauce of course, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, pink ambrosia salad, deviled eggs, man and cheese, potato salad, rolls, sweet potato pie, pecan pie, and buttermilk pie. This is our core menu holiday after holiday, the ones we can't live without. Anything else is gravy.....

hey everyone , karen i make apple sausage stuffing muffins. its just apple sausage stuffing in muffin tins, but they look cool , this year we are making canolies . we are from ny and miss them . they are a pain to make so its a once and a wille thing . i love any thing pumpkin except pumpkin pie so i think im gonna make pumpkin cookies .btw i cant believe it 31 there , its still in the 60s here by day ,high 40 to low 50s at night .that will all be changing soon . have a good day everyone !

For those of you with kids/grandkids, here's the turkey cookies I made with my kids all the time they were growing up. So easy, and the kids love helping/eating them......I also have another style of "3-D" standing Turkey cookies with Oreos, and Turkey cupcakes too if you'd like to know how to make those just Dmail me for photo and instructions

THANKSGIVING TURKEY COOKIES


1 roll Pillsbury Create 'n Bake Refrigerated Sugar Cookies
1 tub chocolate frosting
candy corn
orange decorating gel
black decorating gel
1 pkg. M & M's miniature candy coated baking bits
Heat oven to 350°. Bake cookies as directed on roll. Cool completely, about 20 minutes. Spoon chocolate frosting into resealable food-storage plastic bag; seal bag. Cut small hole in bottom corner of bag. On each cookie, pipe frosting on outer edge of half of cookie. Arrange candy corn over frosting for feathers. Pipe orange icing onto each cookie to resemble turkey face and feet. Use orange icing to attach baking bits to turkey face for eyes. Pipe black gel on baking bits for centers of eyes.
