This is not an exclusive club. All are welcome here. We just like to call ourselves sistahs, with the exception of a juve.. or nieces.
We'll stick to DG rules, not to offend anyone. No political nor sexual topics.

This is gonna take me an hour, thank God for "Word" if not, I'd definitely lose this before I could hit 'send'.
Have to go back and copy and paste the recipes. Now you all know good cornbread should have that crust at the bottom. So I guess I must get me a small cast iron skillet, as I left all my cast irons back with ex. He might need them on his head :D
Deborah, so you get to be with sweet Sis Kathy again!! Were plans made for another meeting??
Oh boy how wonderful is that.. one day I'm able to say... hey I met a sistah too.. Tina in MB.. we got to do it soon!!
Tina-Tia, yes they do spread and grow up to 6ft, depending on the soil. Please try to plant them at least 4 ft. away from each other.
I like to root them in plain water, change it every other day. Be kind to them once they've rooted, plant in potting soil, but do add some perlite to promote drainage. DO NOT use big pots until they are ready for them. I had killed a few that way.
Try to grow them protected from the winds. I lost a lot of buds from harsh winds.
And in your zone, Tina-Tia, it's best to bring them in if in pots or cut it down for winter, and mulch at least 8 inches. Hope they grow back for you.
Above all....DON'T PANIC...
Sorry Joyce, I don't have Pink Velvet!! Did I just say Pink!! Lolol!! My favorite pinks are Painted Lady and Serendipity. I left Serendipity growing in its' pot. Want some blooms when nothing else is blooming...
BJ just have those dark green thumbs!!! And yes, I do save anything that can be used for sowing seeds.. especially those salad and sandwiches take out tray. I throw them in the dishwasher, and voila.. "repurpose" them!!
Cindy, I hope you find you a pomeranian soon. Time for you to make new laughter....
Yah, when Cindy told me she only got NOIDs... now what is a sistah to do?? You all tell me.. we got to treat each other right!!!
Okay.. doing Deborah's so Marion, there will be some heading your way too! And those hostas will come right back up from the roots!!
Btw, how's your niece doing?
Sistahs keep on praying for her.
Sistah Judy, 22 years!!! That's like a marriage!!!! I hope the best plans are being laid out for your career.
Also take comfort, Sweetheart, when one door closes another opens.
Hi Janice :D Have you started on any new quilts yet?
Phyllis, kids here are so fortunate. We don't have school buses back in Singapore, had to use public transportation or your legs!
This economy is affecting everyone. Giving my thanks to God, that at least, I still can afford the meds and feed my fur babies right.

And guess what I'm making!! Soup today, and I got all the fixings for Posole.
I got Serendipity and Pink Velvet plus Adeline in the Brug coop, oh yea, Daybreak, too.
So with the New Orleans Lady from you, and the generous gift from Deborah, I'm hoping to have a beautiful showing of brugmansias in 2009!
Just got back from the PO, mailed my wreath.
I saw gas down the street for $1.94... funny, when it got down to $2.37 a couple weeks ago, Don went down and filled both our tanks, and was so happy to get it at that price... then the next day it dropped even more, and has continued to drop since. I'm still burning the $2.37 gas... a tank will last me a month.
Jaye, aren't those food trays too shallow for roots to get a good start? I thought they had to be deeper than that...
I don't know about a green thumb... nobody's ever accused me of that before... but I'm trying to learn... someday, I'll know what I'm doing, maybe.
I'm going out now to cut back all the coleus and try to root them for next year... LK left me some in a tub, and I'm thinking that I might like to try that... I just made room in my plant shelf for them. Never rooted coleus before either... but hey, what have I got to loose?
Once they germinate, just transfer them to better vessels. I don't remember where I got that idea..probably from DG.. but when you don't want to waste your jiffy pots, and sow a bunch of seeds at one time, and don't know how many will take, this helps.
Only going to try Brugmansia seeds again this time.
This lady here gives good suggestions BJ,
http://faq.gardenweb.com/faq/lists/wtrsow/2002055224008348.html
you skipped out ahead of me...so I'm transferring it over....
Afternoon all...recipes all sound good...now I'm hungry!
Rain, rain and more rain...gladly trade for a little sunshine...
We are thinking about winter sowing...never done that before. Also have a roll of really heavy clear vinyl that I hope will work to cover in my bedroom patio...it is already enclosed with a half wall on one side and lattice and window screen elsewhere. Did that so the cat could get "outside" but not really...ie. away from squirrels and bird feeders, and keeps the kitty box out of the house. She has no interest in any of my plants so she should be able to share the space with my plants.
Have a few projects I need to work on today so will check in later...
Hello BSF's! Had to leave early this am for the med center. Home now with a headache. We were testing advanced nursing students as they did a 99 point physical exam. I was in the observation room watching on my monitor, wearing headphones, and keeping score on an electronic notepad with a stylus while my partner was the 'patient' in the exam room. My brain was over taxed trying to keep up with all 99 technical checklist items and observing to see if they were done correctly - they don't do them in the same order they are on the checklist. Plus it's a nasty rainy day. Do you think chocolate would make me feel better? ;)
Judy, that's great news about your job! At least you know you're not out tomorrow but waiting and not knowing for sure has to be frustrating.
Marion, are the holes in your gardens cone shaped? I agree with Deborah - sounds much like armadillos. We have them and they are so destructive. They dig with claws that look a lot like Edward Sissorhands.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's brugs next year! So many varieties! They are too fussy for me and every pest known to man attacks them here.
Hi Donna! Nice to see you here. A sister get together - how fun! Even if for an hour.
Hello to everyone else - my pea brain doesn't carry over from one thread to the next. There was so much I wanted to comment on while skimming the previous thread but can't remember now! Much to do this afternoon. Can't stay and play. Will try to catch up later. Won't be around tomorrow as I'm working all day. Will miss you all!
Thanks for telling me they were pebbles Jaye. Don't need anymore broken teeth!! I thought they were jelly beans!!
What a busy group. I am getting ready to go out for errands--was earlier but something came up--like 10 calls back to back for festial applications. It has officially started!!
Yes, the holes are conical in shape. I think it maybe armadillos rather than squirrels but with the number of squirrels in my yard who knows. I had trouble about a year ago with my daylilies and read somewhere to put castor oil on the ground. It worked in that spot so might have to do it again. Well, I guess that is what worked --digging stopped.
Waving to everyone!! Off to do the long over due errands.
Yes Debra, choccies can help just about anything!!!!
Trisha, there is a large bag of peanut M&Ms in front of me now. What is the correct dosage?
Auntie M-thank god you didn't wat them-they were rabbit pebbles;)
ROFL!!!!!
Dosage??? Eat till you feel good Debra!!!
Now niece, you know I wouldn't do that to Marion!!
tee hee hee-I don't put anything past my suties-one send me bird poo!!
Debra, hard to say 'cause most likely I would stop when the bag was empty......love Peanut M&M's!!!!!!
Stacey, I thought they were Deer Raisins!! (We will never let my SIL forget that one!)
ewww-deer raisins!!
Yep they were out camping when she was little and asked her what she had in her hand.....her answer was that she found some Raisins!!!
Triple eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwww!!
It's a big bag Trisha - handing you some now.
Our lab, Holli, is obssessed with deer raisins. She eats like she hadn't had food in a week. And we have LOTS of deer.
Talk about ewwwwww ..........
Jaye and Stacey I am with EWWWWWWW on that one...LOL! I think I will just stick with Debra's M&M's.......thanks Debra...yuuummmm!
At least I thought these were M&M's ...........
ROFLMAO.................sheesh, sputter, that was the last of this pot of coffee too!!
Sorry, just couldn't help myself. Yep, they are definitely M&M's. :)
Thanks Jaye... those are some cool ideas. I'll keep some of those in mind.
But I just can't see a take out tray being deep enough. The one's I'm seeing in my head are only about an inch deep, with a 1" tall dome top... is that enough room?
I agree ewwwww...
I am eating a heath bar, would you like one? Choccie helps anything for sure, especially those stressfull moments!
LK
I had a pear for a snack... but I think I'm going to have tootsie roll now... you girls are just a bad influence on me... ya know?
oh please lady!! A tootsie roll and we are bad influeces!! How bout the 4 oreos I am eating!!LOL
LOL... well, they are the little bite size tootsie rolls... I had 2 of them...
Just needed a bite of chocolate after all those M&M's being passed around.
Just 4 oreos?

Awwww I hope you get to feeling better. I know you are looking forward to a little r & r soon, Kim.
Sorry I just had to be a baby and complane a little I will get better soon I hope
You complain all you want to, Kim! You've earned it!
Hey Stacey, and Kim. Glad to see you both posting. Don't see you much. Both of you are both hard at work all the time.
Kim take care of that cold.
Stacey don't work too hard. You heard from any new jobs yet?
LK
For some reason this did not come up on my watch thread.
Deer Rasins how funny
Kim how are able to walk with all that clothing on
I'm so sorry your sick Kim... really I am... but I have to tell you the vision I have of you bulked up in all those clothes... remember the movie with the little boy who wanted the b b rifle for Christmas?... I can't remember the name of the movie... his little brother was all bundled up to go out to play and couldn't even put his arms down in the snow suit his mom made him wear... he fell in the snow, and couldn't get up... POOR KIM...
I do hope you get better soon, dear... working out in that cold weather isn't going to help get over that crud ...
Oh Kim that is so awful. We will take care of you!!
Tootsie rolls, oreo, peanut m&m, deer raisins? what are you all coming to. I can't even look at a tootsie roll anymore after the birthday cake my sister got one year. Use your imagination--kitties, tootsie rolls, microwave. Deer raisins might be a blessing in disquise.
Well thank you I had another tangerine. Only because there is no candy in the house.
LOL! That's a great movie. Is it called 'The Christmas Story'? With the Red Rider bebe gun? Yep, Kim, that's the kind of image I had, too. Don't be sticking your tongue on any flag poles! Seriously, hope you are feeling better soon. That sounds miserable.
