Happy New Year Ya'll!!

Gita make it the way you want, I would love to see it! I am not a crafty or imaginative person, so it's safe to say that I am a copy cat! LOL!!

Morning Betty, How are you doing today?
LK

I'm fine until I eat something..thought I was through with this tummy thing...omg I was in bed by just a few minutes after 7p.m.must have needed it as I slept fairly well...

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Wanted to show you what I got.....3 Beautiful Santa heads!!!!
Now--the question is-----WHEN will I get to make 3 more Santas????? haven't even done the one Betty sent me!!!! This is how my accumulation of craft supplies grows.....:o(

The one on the left (the bigger one) I got at the Good Will Store for $1. It has a hollow bottom to the head, so I will be able to stick it on top of something.
The two on the right, I just got at the 75% off Christmas merchandise sale at "Bed, Bath and Beyond". These were Christmas ornaments--orig. $7.99 (barf!)--so I paid $2 for each.

I like this kind of a look to the Santa.....

Gita

The bigger one (from Goodwill) is my favorite. It has a lot more "class".....The beard is REAL sheep wool--still attached to the leather below it. Might have been the head to a very nice Santa--wherever the BODY went.....?????

On the other two--the beard is long, fake fur. You can see the woven material under it if you lift it up. The hat is not pointed--just bunched up and sewed closed. Typical "made in China" product....The small pine cones need "fixing" as you can see gobs of dried glue all around them. Might insert a few more little greens there.....with MY glue gun....:o)
It is doable......

Here's my Favorite one hanging from my DR light fixture. He is adorable!
All these will have to be on larger Santas than the ones Betty sent materials for. I would guess at least 18"-20".

Hope you all keep an eye out in "fancier stores" now that the X-Mas clearance is everywhere. AND the Thrift Shops......

Oh my they are beautiful look Gita..knowing you you'll be finding furs, velvet, unusual trims over the next months and will be ready to create family heirlooms...best I be out on the lookout at these places...

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Yes, Betty! You should be on the lookout all year long........

Right now (maybe too late already) with all the clearances going on, you could have picked up some beautiful, velvet tree skirts in some of the better stores for a few dollars.
I can't forget the ones I saw at "Tuesday Morning" before the Holidays!!! My, they were rich and gorgeous! A good two yards worth--at least....amazing dark red velvet---reg. price was only $20! It is a lower-price store--NOT exactly discount. Amazing stuff in that store! All first quality! I don't know how widely this store is located--might be just around here. You could Google it????

And you are correct, Betty--WHEN I make my Santa (s)--they will be one of a kind.....just waiting for "The Moment" to hit!
Of course--ALL the Santas already made are also "One of a kind"! ALL beautiful!!!!

This is a small version of the last one.....it started as an angel but the body was too big for the face I had, so changed it to a little Santa.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gorgeous...have to be on the lookout for similar material..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Gita there are Tuesday Mornings all over the US. We had one in Modesto, CA and we have them all over AR, I was quite surprised. I bought a crystal vase (which reminds me I haven't seen that vase since we moved... So many things get misplaced when moving across the country.) that was stickered at $14.00, when I took it to the register they said, "$2.00"! I'm a retard and never think to go look for after Christmas sales for some reason, guess by the time it's done I'm done with it!

I love the silver Santa! Very pretty Trisha.

And Seed, yours is gorgeous too!

Thanks for doing the collage LK, mine is sooooo plain. Poo.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, somehow I missed a few, and I think I have them all. Please let me know if I don't have all the Santa' s in the collage.
I love them all. I don't know why you think yours is plain Crissyr.
Judy, please tell us how you did the pants?

LK I need to know how you do the collage!?!?!?!?! Please?

And yes Judy How to do the Pants?!?!?!

Glenview, IL

Thanks you...Trisha, Love your mini's..I love to do mini as well.

Anyway, you know how to sew pants right? These pants are the same. measure your wast and create paper pattern.
You will sew the same as pant with the exception of sewing all the way up the side.
Keep in mind houw you gathered robe...Same will go for the pants.

When you make the "butte" you will see they only will go so far. you will be pulling them up around belly wrapping them in front of the main body stick so they will only go so far. tuck and tack and the butte then the front of pants gather and wrap around waist. Tack sew to the shirt and add a belt to hide tacks. The legs you want to also tack around the "body" pole to hide it. the other tack gently. OK, I still have this one so will try and get a pic...for you to see, geesh sorry didn't take as I went...and off course illusion boots give them a hem line...yikes, i hope this makes sense...was quite the challange.
LOL, yep one of them head scratches...hehehe.

heres a side view...

Thanks Judy......now I am going to have to try that!!! First I must finish swaps, I must finish swaps, no more santa's until I finish swap items!!!:(

Glenview, IL

LOL, Trisha...I hear ya!

1st finish swaps then play with santa pants...

swaps first! LOL.
don't forget your seam allowance! I did first time.

sigh but thats why i practice first!
have fun with em when you done with SWAPS!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Hey, no MOONING on this thread! LOL!

Glenview, IL

LOL...Do you know how hard that bow was to make?

Debra...giggling here!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ok, I got ya, looks like you made a little stuffed body, and only one leg on the pole, the other leg is empty? Thanks for the instructions.
I used the paint program for the collage. First I clicked on each Santa and saved them toa folder. Then when I had paint open, I just used the edit button, then click on paste from, to keep adding them one at a time. As you open one of the Santa's, use your mouse to drag it down to fit the size you want, then open another and make it the same size. Hope this helps ya.
