Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Trisha, honest to God himself, That is the very first thing I have crafted. Maybe I inherited my grandmothers talent. I'd be the only one who did and I wish she was alive and coherent to see what I have done. Yes I am keeping him. When I told the gals at work I was doing one the first thing they asked was, "Who are you giving it to??" Heck, I'm keeping him! I will take him in tomorrow to show them what I have done! LOL Yes I'm rotten LOL!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I am so Jacob, but not surprised as I saw last year's sleighs...this is something she will cherish through all the years...

Trisha, took a photo but it does not do it justice for a quick and easy project...maybe something you yourself can do for next year...

Meant to add not just Trisha, anyone, but it was Trisha who was looking for ideas..

So loved being at DIL's, saw all the pretty christmas things I had made her over the years...

This one I did for both DIL's, a fireplace screen, all the pieces of the snowman are 3-d...was fun..I wouldn't mind having one for my basement..might be something to cut and work on from time to time..just thought I'd share...

Probably at least 3 to 3 1/2 feet high...all done on MDF...

OH, love the tree and the Fireplace Screen!!! Fireplace screens are good things....my dog DOES NOT like other dogs....if we don't keep up some kind of screen she is constantly growling and barking at that Evil Other Dog that hides in our Fireplace.....lol.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That's cute...chilled here, temps. are dropping, light snow falling, I really don't want to go out..thought maybe if I'd put a top and slacks into the dryer for a few minutes I might take the chill away, know it's not just the temps, I'm exhausted..when I look back to all I've accomplished since Nov. I can understand why..it will be a quick drop in, eat and leave..they realize just how tired I am...

Suzanne said my gift of Mr. & Mrs. Claus outfits was a complete success..all enjoyed their visit..that made me happy...working in Santa's workshop this year was both tiring and yet exciting..am sure he'll invite me back next year....

Off I go, one last stop...

Jesse, you feeling better? did you call someone???do hope so...

Checking the thread as soon as I arrive home, which, lol, won't be late...

This one is for my mother in law who has her tree decorations all in Gold.......

Well done, Jacob! You definitely inherited your mom's crafting talent. Nothing makes grandmas happier than something made by their grandchildren's own hands.

Trishia, how many santas have you made? I'm in awe of your abilities.

Betty, did you ever imagine so much beauty would come of your lesson? You are a good teacher, indeed!

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Debra counting the three small ones I think this makes 10......and I still have more to do

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Betty. I love the fieplace screen. Is there a pattern? If so, you shuld send it to Stacey. If Santa was good and gave her the saw and things she wanted maybe she would make one for me for next year. Hint, hint, hint...
Although I must say I enjoyed sitting with candles lit and the fire going last night. I was a lovely way to end the day. I really enjoyed being home; talked to all the kids and my Dad by phone, made my own Christmas dinner by the fire and just relaxed.
DS & wife coming today, Stacey sometime tomorrow so the Holidays just goes on and on.
Betty, you take some time to relax and recharge. You have been go, go, go in a frantic pace and it is time to make your body calm down. Here, how about a hot chocolate with Godiva white chocolate liquor when you get back from shopping? Warm you all the way down to your toes and sit back and breath a big sigh!

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

AnjL,

You won't be the only one.....
I have not touched my kit at all yet......Sorry, Betty! Hoping January will have a lot of floating time to do something--before I get into all the seed-growing thing.....

That will be another time-consuming thing for a couple of months..

Gita

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

1Anjl, and Gita, you still have time to finish them. We all know that life happens, so when ever you get them done, please post them, We will be glad to see them when you get them finished.

WHEN I do the Santa Betty sent me (and any other ones), I really want to change some stuff about the sleeves and the hands.
I want the sleeves to be open at he ends, and would add some lace inside the open sleeve ends to look like the end of a shirt-sleeve inside. I do not like the bunched up "thing" as a hand either. I would like to see a more natural hand.

PLEASE do not get me wrong here!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE all the Santas that have been made by everyone. They are ALL awesome! Just realize, that I am an artistic and crafty person and I see things that i would like to do differently.
To respect Betty--I will make the one she sent me in the kit just as she has directed.
IF I ever make any others--I will be experimenting-like Zhinu has.

I was at my local Good Will store a few days ago. ALL their Christmas stuff was 50% off.
There was this wonderful 18" Victorian Santa for (now) $5! Bigger than the ones Betty has, but not by much. What intrigued me was the whole head and beard and face--that he had truly real hands and that he had a wonderful, brass lantern it his hands and a couple of beautifully wrapped packages in his other hand.

I stood there for at leas 20 minutes trying to decide if i want to buy it--but opted out. I especially liked the lantern.....Bummer!
I had this conscience telling me that I OWED it to Betty to make hers first the way she had sent directions for. And--I WILL! Promise!!!!
Then--If I make any others....They will be what they will be....NOT likely!

Happy New Year to You All!!!! Gita

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Happy New Year Gita, and everyone...........!!!!

I like your idea on the hands and sleeves.....and I don't think Betty minds our experiments at all.....Hope to see Your Santa soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gita, you know how I like to see everyones creativity..absolutely go for it..when we started this project many thought they were not crafters and might succeed, as you see, they've led me astray and look at the beautiful treasures that came out of this project...

It was simply a 'get together' crafting with friends...look forward to seeing your creativity..not mine..lol...

Have a great New Years Day all....

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Good morning, Betty. Happy New Year!
