Wow Audrey, you're not kidding. When you cook, you really put out a bounty!! Thanks love.

BTW, DGer Alohahoya is quite a specialist on Hoyas. She'll answer questions on Hoyas.

Hi Tina-Tia! So, Punk Boy favors good chocolate, or he takes whatever he can? What's his favorite candy? Not that I'm encouraging him to ignore the important food groups.

Marion is our Santa ain't she? The Quilter's Bible is a very good technical book for all level quilters, Debra. You are so lucky to get so much support in venturing into a new craft.

Marion, we stopped at a hardware store and I'll be getting 2 of those sturdy folding tables, each 2x the size of a card table, and they will soon replace my dining table. So, when do you think I'll need the 3rd table? Lol!!

Hi LK! Will you be turning in your edges or leave them raw? For Emerson's ice cream quilt, they won't be turned under, but I'll blanket stitch them.

Cindy, we can't say your candle making is your only specialty! Ran out of wax and still got other crafts that need your attention!

Kim the Exotic don't just say hi and run away!! We want to know how you've been doing! Brug activity I'm sure didn't take too much of your time!

Hi Susan!! Glad to see you here this morning. House all clean, garden's sleeping, what's left for you to do! Sit for a spell with us!

Where's my Sistah Kathy.. the strutting Peahen!!!!!

Deborah, take a break.. talk to us!!

BJ, I am so sorry you're going through this. Praying real hard, that this too will soon be something of the past, and you can start enjoying your life at 100 percent.

Well, I'm a bit of Dorothy, a lot of Rose (her trust in strangers), some Blanche years ago, and with Kel, can be Sofia.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hi Niece, try to have a fantastic day, if you can read this!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Humm, Jaye, I will day about dark today!!! LOL I now have my dining table fully extended (it seats 10 easily) AND my cutting table set up. Guess what? The floor is looking better all the time. Addiction for sure.

Yes, where is Kathy? Didn't see of her yesterday and none at all today. Hope she isn't sick again--well maybe she doesn't have any voice left. Think? Or a pain in her back from strutting so much. LOL

Deborah, we need to see your smiling face around here--where be you?

Audrey, I hope you fix breakfast like that every morning. I wouldn't want to eat the rest of the day.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion's last post. Another one that eats the crumbs instead of following it!!

"Humm, not sure who I would identify with. The one played by Betty White--a left of center and a whole lots of ditsy!!

Debra, you had better surface before spring or the book with explode!! See what you didn't know is I inserted a tape recorder that shelf destructs after so long. So of like Mission Impossible. Enjoy evey word of the book--card too.

Well, it is back to that dreadful black and green wool--and it almost 75!! It is getting hot under that coat."

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Hey, I like the crumbs out there today!!! Looks like a cannoli--is it? But as my oldest GD would say "where are the chocolate chips?"

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

is someone sending a boat by anytime soon???? we might float away if the rain keeps up LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good Lord Phyllis, you might have to cut down one of Marion's trees and make a pirogue!!!!
Be safe my sistah!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

No cutting necessary--5 still down that we can hollow out the centers and use. Shall I get them ready Phyllis?

No one is really interested around here in coming and doing that type lawn work any more so little by little I am getting it done but haven't messed with the trees yet.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good for you Marion! Don't exert unnecessary energy, save them for your crafting.
And a couple of pertrified trees can add rustic charm to your kingdom.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you Jaye... keep those thoughts and prayers coming... this is getting the best of me. Had a good cry this morning, and Don had a wet shoulder when he left for work.

Posting that picture again here... I think most of us can identify with these women in one way or another... all of them...
I think I'm probably (at this point in my life) more like Estelle Getty also. A couple years ago, I would have said Bea Arthur... Ten years ago I was ditsy... 20 years ago I was a bit air headed... and at times, I'm still ditsy and air headed...
I miss that show.

75!! I've got my heater on it's cold in the house. It is in the high 60 here, very cloudy. I like to froze to death in the grocery stor. And I had a long sleeved thermal shirt on. Sure felt good in the tub this morning, didn't want to get out. LOL Marion"a tape recorder that shelf destructs " Love it!!!

Kathy might be busy reading the craft mags I sent her

Today I'm working on my "Secret Santa" gift and taking pix of candles. I'm getting a booth at the local mall after Thanksgiving. So I've got to get labled, priced, catagorized, plus pack BJ's So I will be bouncing in and out TTYL

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

You can still watch reruns, I do every now nad then when I get bored, but lately I've been too busy to get bored, LOL I love it...I sure hope this club continues for a long time..........OK I'm getting chatty and I need to get busy ...TTYL

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Come on down Cindy--higher toward the end of the week.

BJ, I do hope you get some relief soon!!! I would have long sense been a total basket case with pain like that!!! Waiting 6 weeks for the inflammation to do away before my gall bladder surgery was almost more than I could stand. Stay on those doctors--call is you need reinforcements. Would be there in a heartbeat!!!

Jaye, rustic is definitely the word to describe this yard at the moment. Well actually when it is all tidied up--very natural setting--just a little more natural than I like at the moment.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

So is this the time of year you get summer or is this unusal

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

OK Ladies, I forgot one thing what room is all the potatoe soup recipes? I started with 50

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Marion... I've been too loopy on pain pills to be a basket case... couldn't you tell?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh no this is not our summer, we are in the fall waiting on winter. It could change in a heartbeat just like weather can anywhere. I have know it to be very good in November--the year my daughter was born '62-it was a terribly cold winter. Orange trees in south Florida even froze.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well, if that is what it takes, then take them. It is much, much better than the pain. I was given any pain pills while I was waiting for my GB--have no idea why I wasn't but doctor didn't. There were some really miserable days and nights. I am sure you can understand that.

Just please take care and know we are here for you.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yea, it's going to be in the 60's until Thurs then up to mid 70's, I plan on working out side

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I think 79 is predicted for Thursday here but unfortunately I will be drive down the interstate for a meeting that night.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Room 49 Cindy. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/920134/
It's pretty cold here.. in the 60's but that's LOW enough for me.

BJ, whatever it takes, to make you function at least 80 percent, do it. You are strong enough not to be addicted to pain pills, if that's your fear.
Loopy or not, we still love you!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Catch you sistahs later. Got to organize the kitchen!! Even though I'm on that Special K diet, Kel still needs to eat real food.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

well we can hold off on them as it is now just a light rain

mmm trying t picture bj loopy LOL

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Jaye, are you only eating Special K? Hope you are getting some fruits and veggies in there somewhere. (sisters can be a little bossy at times)

What did I miss? Something about BJ's and Memorial Day. Will someone fill me in? Won't want to miss a sister gathering if at all possible. Also would someone fill me in on the phone number/address exchange?

Thanks! This group moves so fast that being gone 3 days is like 3 weeks!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

The doctor didn't give me anything for the pain with my gall bladder attacks either... wonder why they do that?
the doctor didn't give me anything for pain with this "mystery" either at first... and I wonder why?
Guess they have to be careful of those people who just go to the doctor with "fake" pains to get prescriptions... ya think?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Wheww.....I've been running to catch up with you all.

Did you miss me? LOL!

What's this I hear from Audrey about DG not being a fun place any more?????? Shame on you! I was really surprised when I read that....

Where is Kathy? I'm worried. I'm calling her right now.

All of your material is beautiful. I know my sistahs will make beautiful things with them.

Waving to all~~~~

(See you met my sis, Dusty....she's a crochety ole General (was REALLY a Colonel in Nam!)

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Debra... we're planning a sistah party at my house Memorial Day weekend 2009... I'll be dmailing everyone after the first of the year to firm up the plans.

We were feeling a bit insecure one day and all decided to share our phone numbers so we don't all get lost...

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks, BJ. Now I'm 'in the know'. :)

Joyce, that's cool about your friend Dusty. A Colonel!

Here's a question - why do we pronounce the word colonel with an 'r' when there is no 'r' in the word? Or have I been mispronouncing it all these years? "Kern-uhl"

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Hey Debra...sorry I missed your birthday....hope it was truly happy!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks, Joyce. yes, it was very happy!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Great.

Talked to Kathy...she's okay. She'll be on later, she was traveling.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

So it was you Joyce that tied up Sis' cell phone!!
One thing about this chat group, you don't have to go back and read what you missed, just jump in, any questions, one of us will fill in for you.
Just that there are a lot of great pics you'll be missing.
Yah, we do turn the pages fast, don't we?

Can't answer you on that one, Debra. Kernel as in corn and Colonel are quite close in pronounciation.. May have to watch Mash reruns to hear the right way of pronouncing it :D

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Trying this again, maybe if I word it differently it'll get through. Joyce, it seems that every time I make a remark I'm in trouble. I'm trying to keep my mouth shut!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Cyberspace just ate another post!! Urrgh!!

Oh Joyce so good to see you here with us. Humm, you too can be part of the fabric swapping group--just tell us the colors. I think it is called repurposing our stash. Yeah! That is right--I'm tired off working with some colors and others like working with them so we just swap. Neat way to keep the fabric new.

So Sistah Kathy has been traveling? Hope it was for pleasure and relaxation--she goes just way to hard. Gonna have to teach her how to just let go every now and then.

Jaye, is the new table full yet? I see it all now.........

Judy, where are you? Haven't seen you around in a few days. Time to check in with us!!!

Yeap, Dusty dropped in--she needs to come back.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Aww Audrey, I'm glad they didn't boot you off!!!

Marion, the tables are supposed to be here tomorrow. I didn't realize I have sooo much on the table, not counting the lint!!!

Dusty, Happy Veterans' Day!!
Just watched a documentary of the Vietnam Vets' Memorial Wall, and it tugged at my old heart. No political opinions here.. just respect for our men and women that had courageously served.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

You never know where you'll find the Genrul....so you ALWAYS have to be kerful...

My sewing days are behind me. I got my deceased MILs sewing machine and I used it for a bit, but then it bit the dust. It was probably the dust that bit it!!!! Anyway, with work, I just don't have the time to do those fun things right now. Maybe when I'm retired. If I make it!

Okay, Audrey....just so long as you still love us.... you aren't in trouble with Admin are you?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

You'll never meet a prouder American vet than our very own Dusty. She truly made a difference to all "her boys" in Nam....but if talk to any of the nurses that served under her, you might hear different stories!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Happy Veteran's Day, Dusty! Thank you for your service.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I was trying to remember about whether or not she has mentioned she was a nurse. Guess I did remember correctly. When is she moving to MI?
