Pass me a slice of pie. I'm in line first!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Where's your milk sis? Pie needs to be washed down with a cold glass of milk!..

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh Rick and I just had a slice I have 2 slices left who wants one?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

How do you make your meringue so high and stiff like that?? You must have whipped the eggwhites for hours, Cindy!

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

I love milk cold cold! Especially with pie! Yum y'all had grilled pork chops. Love to grill. Bestest flavor ever.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Now Sis.. it's Sunday... you don't show up here when it's the weekends.
You know what the Lord says about gloating?

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Kim that looks great….wish I had a big piece……don’t worry about the spelling, I am completely lost if I don’t have spell check….I’m in worse shape when even spell check can’t figure out what I’m trying to spell…lol..!

Jaye, sorry about the frog…we can share!!!
Susan at least yours is just fuzzes…mine is cat hair, dog hair and Cockatiel dust……in addition to all the regular dust…..I should buy stock in vacuum bags as many as I go through!

Cindy Laura said she doesn’t know because she and Marion are both Lady Bug people

Oh yes Marty Robbins, Johnny Horton, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash (saw him at a rodeo at the McAllister State Prison when just a little kid)…got a lot of cool records when I was little…my dad managed the Student Union at Southeastern State College in Durant, Oklahoma. When the guy would put new records in the Juke Box he would give the old ones to my mom!

Marion, I love Neil Diamond!

Elvis!!! We were on a Bicycle Tour in the Canadian Rockies when he died……….his gospel albums are his best music……PBS does the “Elvis….He Touched Me” show every so often and I never get tired of that one.

And……I think I will stick to pie and milk and stay out of the football talk……I’ll just wait for Baseball season and hope we can come up with a team next year….my cousin in Oklahoma City got our basket ball team and mom says they can have our football and baseball team too the way they played this year!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

sorry sis :(
holler at y'all tomorry
roll tide roll!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Don't encourage her, Trisha!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Jaye, I'm sorry--wasn't intending to upset you!! Kathy, shame on you.

Milk, please and whatever is left--pie, banana cake--whatever just so it is sweet.

Where is Phyllis?

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Yes mam!

I still haven't thawed out from our bike ride today, but at least we didn't get any rain Bill just took us up every steep hill he could find today....we have the first store meeting under new ownership tonight and I don't know if I walk to get there or not.

Oh! I have to download some pictures real quick....be right back!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Are there any sweets left... from anyone's kitchen? Pie, cake... anything?

I went to the store today cause Don will be home tomorrow, and I'm determined to feel good enough to fix us a good home cooked meal... I almost bought a cake (premade)... and then I thought... hey, I have a mix at home, I'll just bake one when I get home... RIGHT !!! I got home and had to wash the fabrics I bought to replace the ones I messed up... cleaned the kitchen, ended up potting up some plants that aren't going to get through the winter in their tiny pots... ironed those fabrics... ate some chicken... and now, I don't want to bake a cake...

so, just pass me something sweet... anything at all...

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Here is the last piece of pie.

Trisha, Tell Laura to look at the Lady Bug"S" yep there are 2 of 'em

BJ here is something sweet and not fattening at all......a lot of you have been talking quilt projects.....our Church Quilt Group has a project in conjunction with DSHS for kids getting put into foster care.....this isn't half of the quilts they were displaying last night but I thought all of you quilters might like to see what I did manage to get pic of before I had t leave.....

Hope this works........

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Mmmmm... thanks Cindy.... hate to take the last piece... but hey... I have no shame...

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Trisha... ALL those quilts a just beautiful... my fav is the one in the far left bottom corner... nice spring time quilt...

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

You're Welcome BJ, no problem. I will just have make a cake later..........

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

BJ, I like that one and also the second from the left in the center row....Sage wants the kitty kat one!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Nice pictures Trisha. After getting the idea "batted" around here I was looking at a quilting site and happened to notice a link about children's quilts--wish I could remember the site now.

Anyways, this site had links to about 20 others that all have group/groups making and donating quilts to them. So it appears most of the really large hosptials are covered --many times over with donations. I did know about several projects when I stated I wanted to do something like this--Project Linus being one of them. As much fun as this would be doing it as a group, I am about to decided if we want to continue making/swapping fabric then maybe each individual could donate where they wish. Does that make sense? Still going to research some more but the first search is overwhelming with people and organizations doing this.

BJ, just a taste of the pie please!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Hey, I met Minnie Pearl one time when she was at the bank where I worked. Had my pic made with her! Stacey, don't tell me you don't know who she was!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I love ALL the quilts, Trisha, cause we know the time it takes to make just one quilt!
Marion, how about women's shelter? Don't have to be hospitals.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

That is what I am not checking into. Great minds aren't we--thanks for sending the vibes my way. Also now that Trisha mentioned foster children I wonder if there is a need other places. Just have to research so I am open to any and all ideas.

I love the kitty quilt--really nice one pictured and I noticed most are tied!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Audrey... we also know you met Loretta Lynn... Right?

Good idea, Jaye... but how do we know where to send them... aren't they secret places?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Good research work, Marion... didn't think about all that...

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Yeah, I forgot about that!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Don't mean to change the subject but I was over catching up on Best and Worse and it seems that Betty's mum has had a mild stroke..... please add them to your prayer and good wishes.......

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

BJ for something like foster care they go through Child Services, our womens shelter here has a main office you can contact...not sure about other organizations....

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Trisha, I was just reading about Betty's mother. Thanks for posting that here for all to see.

BJ, Trisha is right, most of the shelters have agencies that you/we can contact and they can answer our questions without letting us know where the actual facility is located. Most organizations do have central offices we could contact Trisha. Just have to get my thinking cap working again--been along time since I was active in an organization that would be involved in a venture such as this.

I am beat tonight. Spent most of the day at the ER with my daughter--has a kidney infection and boy is she feeling rocky tonight. I was beginning to worry about other ailments before they called her back to see the doctor. Yikes every coughing, hacking, sniffling person in town I think was there. Yes, I know they are sick also but I just get nervous being exposed to all those things!! Mega exposure for sure.

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

Marion... Please don't forget the Vets at a nearby VA Hospital...We need all of the help we can get to keep them supplied with warm items...Many are amputees and need lap quilts....

Col Dusty
Veterans Services Advocacy

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's it, I vote to help the vets.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

OH, MY... another great idea... YES.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Dusty... would the vets be able to take the quilts home with them... not kept at the hospital?... cause, I sort of thought that was the idea here... to donate to a needy person, not the hospital itself...
