Brug Addicts - She's About To...............#35

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Kimmie was already sweet enough to send me several cuttings! Thank you again Kim! They are rooted and about to go into pots! Jeanne you should begin to see tiny buds immediately after the Y is formed. It's almost instantaneous!

Ah JB I'd love to come to your Christmas Farm! You'll have to get a picture or two of everything decorated and show to us!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I have another bud about to open!! She's splitting on the end! Don't know what color, I lost the tag in moving her!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Whooohooo!! She will be a lovely surprize : )

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Ahh Audrey, the element of surprise add to the fun!

Thanks for the confirmation guys. I do see a bunch of tiny buds but I don't know if their leaves or flowers. If they are flowers what do I do about encouraging them to grow with winter coming on? Oh my goodness, a new worry.

Audrey, how exciting to be waiting for a surprise bloom. Isn't it fun?

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes, and keep posted, I'll post pix later!

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/919790/ heres a link to my mini garden terrarium . im gonna do one outside too . with some heathers and rock garden type plants

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh Dana, how adorable!!!!!!! Maybe I can learn too, I love the idea of a mini garden, or terrarium. What are you using for the glass enclosure?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Yes Dana, I had gone there to look and admire, posted what I thought and lost it.. you have inpired me! I love it!
Karen, my sissy.. how ya doing?

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey sissy Deb! I'm fine sweetie and you? How is Miss Pauline doing? Lazy nite I guess tonight.....I've been watching old reruns of Dexter. I love that show! Do you have a fairy garden Deb? I would love to try one...LOL, just one more thing I need like a hole in the head to spend money on. ^_^

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Karen , sorry took so long to answe you, my youngest DD needed a back rub, she is home for the weekend, her big sister Rose had an art show tonight and the longer we stayed the more she started hurting. She is in her third year since her horrible auto accident and her steel rods make her hurt in this cold weather. She is too young to be like this, I think. anyways, I do not have any fairies, I collect turtles.. so I have a turtle Garden LOL

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Lost you all for awhile.

Darn hate to hear about the coop forum, I used it alot this year. Purchased a whole punch of ee's and they all survived...., plumerias, just lots of stuff. Guess I will stick with Yahoo as far as purchases, little more confusing but good prices. Haven't bought anything off of the marketplace on DG.

Had to work today and bring homework home. Need to work on ornaments tomorrow....I am excited.

Bad cold and windy here. The wind never stops on this hill especially in the winter.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

OM, the 10 clock is talking about several days next week of snow and rain mix. Dang! Too early!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

what?? u r kidding me! YUK.. I am not ready for snow and ice, let alone temps under 70 :P

Donna Could you please explain what you mean here. I am just a little slow sometimes. Thanks,

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Good morning,
The coffee is on and there are some fresh apple turnovers for a morning snack.

Wishing a nice sunny Sunday for everyone to enjoy. The temp has dropped here but the sun is shining, I’m going to try and get the last of the clean up done today.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Good morning all! Hey Clemen and Donna, how are you chickies this morning? Pass me an apple turnover please?

Sandy I believe she is referring to your comments about the "hotties" over on the coop thread. We are trying to regroup ourselves and abide by the rules, not inflame or bring attention to ourselves with the moderators any more than they are right now. Best just to let the "H" word die down, although we all miss it and are confused and upset by the inability to use it any longer. But we all know in our heart that that's who we are.

Hope everyone is doing great!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Well said Karen!!! Good morning my friends wishing you all a happy day : )

Well I did not mean for it to effect the feelings of ones here and it was not intended to hurt this thread or anyone in it.

I have tried to explain why I did it and have erased it 3 times. Because I have caused a problem in here with 1 or more I am sorry. I was sticking up for us and our thread. But since I did wrong and have upset even one I apologize. I am sure it effected more than one.

All I will say is I would never hurt anyone deliberately and in case it was thought I did well you don't know me.

The only reprimand I saw could happen is me being booted from Dave's because of speaking up against Administrations decision. I was trying to bring to light that H&H stood for nothing sexual knowing I could be put off the website for it. And it would have been worth it just for everyone to see this thread and the wonderful people on it are nothing like the the thoughts that H&H meant more than it did.

I apologize but the damage I have caused is not to the group but to my own self in the group. I deeply apologize. And I am sorry if anyone saw me different than the loving person I am. Thanks for allowing me to be part of this thread.

You all have been very good to me and for me.
Thank you,
Sandy

Mornin Glories!!

Donna.. what a comfort for when I "finally" get up.. you or others already have the homefires burning.. ... and all kinds of wonderful aromas to entice me ... ohh you are bad...lol... but I love it!!
Dana... yeah.. I "thought" I was smelling a "different aroma".... hehehehehe...congrats on the new babies!!
lil chick... sooo you'll be digging in the dirt all day.. sounds good
Karen.. well said!
Kim.. that's a pretty flower.. what is it?

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Sandy we are just going through a period where we don't want any attention paid to us period. There was too much attention paid to the "hotties" by everyone watching Daves when our "spanking" and move occured. It's not that the only harm done would be your getting the boot off of Dave's, it's just that we need a resting period with no eyes on us....I'm sure your post was made with the best of intentions to defend our thread...but right now we are just best to be quiet until we mend a little........

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Punkin pie, anyone? Good with coffee!

Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

Good Sunday Morning to all. I have no idea what the heck is happening but all the leaves are dropping off the three brugs I have inside in the sun room. All of a sudden. Boom, most of them are off the bog plant and the little ones are curling up. they are not dry. Could they be too wet? not Brugs!

I do hope eveything soon settles down, you are all so sweet and kind, I hate to see you all in a stressful situation. I will say a little prayer for peace for all of us. I think there is tension on all the lists lately. I wonder what is going on. I am sure we will all survive. I hope my brugs survive. WAAAAAAAA!

When I see a line that says edited........who has done the editing? It does not show up often but it does show up on some of the forums. I was just wondering if all the posts are edited and by whom.

(Zone 7a)

The person who posted is the one who edited. If ADMIN did it, it would say so.

Glad to see brugs are still blooming somewhere! I can't wait for more oics. Maybe I'll just have to go back to past threads and take a peek. My DH is intrigued by them, as well.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Jberger, I think all, or most of my leaves fell off when I brought them in! But I've had a beautiful bloom, and have two more popping! The leaves are coming back, also! Good luck with yours!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Yay to Karen. We all know who we are, ....... we're friends and we all want to learn more about brugmansia and each other.. So my firends... we have come a long way! Hold on tight.. cherish the moment, look for the future.. I've really been busy with the ornament exchange.. we have friends moving across our beautiful nation.. Joyce is trying to get me to think that we could have snow/ice next week.. (still in denial here).. ((Joyce)).. sunny but cold here today.. I'm hibernating this weekend and it feels nice.
JB- usually when you change environments on them they will drop leaves, imagine they are outside in the fresh air and air currents, some sun or weened from sun then, we bring them inside where the light is different, the air currents are different and they are attempting to not have so much growth to care for during the adjustment.. that's how I look at it.. one reason I strip a lot of the big ones off before they come in...however, I am a bit concerned by what you are saying about a bog.. they probably don't want their roots constantly wet if that is how they are..
AUDREY that puppy love-- I can't wait for pics..! I need to go check on pink smitty, he's my next shiner! ;) Love to all my friends here.. we are a group, no one person is allowed to accept responsibility for the good or the bad, we stand united my sisters and brothers. I will ask for patience and guidance - peace for everyone. ((((Group)))) Donna, got one of those goodies and a small sliver of pie! MMMmmm Best go see if I can get a new bloom pic for that anxious newbie Celia ;) Here's the bud day before yesterday..

That's the way my other one looks! Puppy Love is not quite that far along!

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Morning everybody... Yumm. Apple turnovers. Haven't had them in awhile. You mentionign them remind sme of the old days when folks you to make apple dumplings. I still remember the first time I had one, wasn't but a tyke and was handed this ball like thing that had cinnamon juice drizzled over it. It was way to hot to eat and so milk was poured over it and oh did my taste bud ever start smiling. I do so miss the bakers of the past and all the little stores there used to be on street corners til so much packaged food came along.

I remember reading somethign about somebody doing a cookbook. Can't wait to see what that is about. : )

It a bit chilly still here and the wind is cold and brisk today. Those logs are still burnign away.

Pretty brug. Now I gonna be singing Donny Osmand Puppy Love song all day.

Hope everybody has a good day and one that make sem smile from the inside out. HUgs to everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Oh I hope it's tonight Audrey! which ever one you have about to...... I still haven't looked.. oh, Star, Yes, they call it Puppy looooooove... now you have it in my head...

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Good afternoon, err, almost typed morning. Running late around here. Apple turnovers and pumpkin pie, oh that sounds good! I feel a baking spell coming on. We started out today at 32 and now 73. How about a sweater with shorts? With this weather, you don't know what to wear.

Audrey, I want to see your Puppy Love bloom, sooon! I had one bud show up but I lost it on mine.

I have an idea for Celia. I know some of you have beautiful pictures I wouldn't mind seeing them again, even if you've already posted them. We could post pictures a long time for her that way and I'm sure some of us would be adding to our want lists. AuntB, I want to come hibernate. I promise not to take up too much room and I will be quiet. I would really like a few hours of quiet time in your brug heaven. Ohhh, just thinking about it is good. :)) Clem, what are you planting? I have been trying to think of something new bulbwise, but nothing so far has really interested me, so maybe I am really going into hibernation. Wolfie, I know you're there, so I need to report that all five MG bushes have new leaves sprouting. I am so excited. LOL, I'm finally getting stuff to root around here. I was beginning to feel real deficient because I was not having any luck earlier this year. Nothing like being root-challenged. :) JB, I would love to see some of your Christmas arrangements you are working on. I used to work PT at a friend's florist shop during the holiday rush and I really enjoyed the arranging part of the job, unless I had to do 50 identical arrangements.

Got to go check what is going on outside and soak up some of this sunshine. Hugs to everyone! Peg

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Morning everyone. Sunny but cool here. Cleaned a closet that has a book shelf full of garden magazines and books. Don't even want to admit how many were in there. Threw 3 away....LOL

OK one of you bruggies when you start seeds in the midwest will you yell at me, especially if you do the thing with the milk jug cause my Mom has saved me a bunch of milk jugs but do NOT have a clue what I am doing!

Out to water in the garden room. Versi is in rare form. I will take pics.
