۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞ 47

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

God bless all of you that are hurting and whatever you are going through, don't do it alone. Turn to the Lord, and us.
Hugs Cindy. Putting down 1 beloved dog, is like telling a family member goodbye. When I read Trisha's email posting, I take comfort in Shane's words. I had already put down 13 dogs, that should make it easy for the next one, right? No.. we don't toughen up to loss.
We have Ali, my current oldest, blind, deaf and full of arthritis. Kel says, when it's time, he'll be there, but I will be brave and hold his paws when that time come..
Hugs Tina-Tia. Cannot imagine how tough mothers should be, as I am not a mother. But I know for the sake of your daughter's life, intervention is necessary and from my own experience with my ex's alcoholism.. NEVER take any rebuke, abuse and verbal assault from your daughter personal. This is the hardest thing I had to deal with. I was told it's a disease and anything he did out of character was due to his disease.
Hugs Judy.. us TWENTY odd "chosen" sistahs and 2 nieces love you!!
If that's not enough, I can gladly include my own biological sisters...but they'll drive you crazy with their obsessive loving!!!

Well, I woke up all stuffy.. talked to the Lord nasally, and after this crying.. everything starts draining!!!!

Stacey, I'm going back to the pics and have a good look see.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

draining is good Tante:)

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Well she got her about 3 am, it was about 4 30 before she calmed down. She wanted to bring someone home with her and her BF put his foot down and would not let her. I AM SO glad he did. I have already been thru helping someone and then trying to get them out. Boy oh boy what a fight that was this morning. Day 5 of no heroin so hopefully she will lick this soon, and just being home will help her. I am going to try and find her some AA meetings today. And see if we can get her some therapy.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I don't have a favorite pic niece, they are all so cute!!
Run your fingers through the Yellow Pages Tina, there should be some AA chapters listed. While AA helped my ex, the "Ala-non" family group fellowships returned my sanity.

Thanks Jaye, I will check that site out. I have it bookmarked. My brother is a big wig in his local AA here and just waiting on him to get up and see what he can do to find her a sponsor this morning.

You won't be able to breathe with that hug!!
I finished my Santa robe, and now I can't find my balls!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh well, a lovely excuse to go down to Michael's.
Tina in MB, I shan't call you, as you'd be at work.. he he he.. you'll be missing out on a treat at my favorite Thai restaurant. Another day :)

Hope the right sponsor comes along for your daughter Tina. Especially one around her age. So, there'll be more empathy there, and she won't really feel alone.

Flaming Kim (sounds better than Flamingo Kim) isn't that nice of Cindy to surprise you with sweet smelling stuffs!!

OK kiddos.. those of you that have teams playing today.. hope yours do good.

Linda Kay, it's not that I don't want to,.....Bucky's creamation is going to cost me alot of money, but I'm hoping that the CareCredit I have will pay but I'm not holding my breath.

Thank You All for your concerns

BJ, Thank You for the ecard it was beautiful.....

Tia, I hope all goes well for your daughter.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

What does one say after reading all the above? My love is going out to Cindy, Tia and Judy along with big hugs and prayers.

Cindy, oh how I can relate to the lost of Bucky-I dread the day my kitties reach that point as my late hubby was really attached to all 3. Just hold on tight to your memories!!! If I have an unusal amount of typos--it's hard to type through tears!!!

Tia, tough love!! Sounds easy but until you have to do it personally you don't realize how hard it is for each of you. Hang in there and know we are all here for you!!! It will get better and my prayers for all. Extra hugs for the grandson from another grandma. Okay?

Judy, you too, I know have had some issues and I do send a huge hug, love and prayers for your sister. I read on another thread the problem and I understand as my brother that I lost recently suffered the same ailment. It really is tough and meds help but can go become ineffective so quickly. His did and there were times we wondered what would happen. Inspite it all, he did live a long and productive (to a point) life.

To all my sick sistahs, please get well, we need you all--each and every one!!

Debra, open that box!! My serger died yesterday so I will start searching now for a replacement. Choices, choices, choices!!!

Morning Deborah, BJ, Audrey. Yes, Linda Kay the trouble is with the ISP. Apparently if is effecting all our computers. I just talked with my daughter and she kept getting kicked off the laptop. Go figure!!

Well, I have a project list I need to start on. Promised myself I would complete it before DD returns home tomorrow!! Then a trip to Goodwill. More stuff gone.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Marion, I see in the online Hancock's ad that they have a Juno Serger, made by Janome on sale for $199. But today is the last day of the sale... new ad comes out tomorrow and might have another good deal.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

((((((HUGS)))))))))) to all who're sick, in pain, either emotionally or physically! A hug always helps! Better times ahead!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hugs back Audrey.
Before I leave, here are some chocolate covered biscottis. Chocolate always make my woes go away..

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) and prayers girls

I know the pain have been down those roads myself ....Please don't withdraw from us here we are here to lend a shoulder and support each other through good and bad ....through all my trials I've found my friends online were a great support and being able to vent to them make it possible for me to make it....

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I went to Michaels on my break and made out like a bandit!! 50-70% off EVERYTHING halloween/fall/thanksgiving!!!

Then I went to Home Goods and got most of my 2009 swap pressies and 75% off halloween stuff!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Tia Jaye is right YOU and any other members of your family who will go with you really should try Al-Anon they are a wonderful group. You know you have all the sistahs here but it is also good to have a loving, understanding group of people right there with you who have been or are currently going through this. They know first hand exactly what you are going through, and it isn't only the addicted person who need love, help and support at a time like this. Thankfully we are past the days when you hid these family problems in the closet and suffered alone. You are in our prayers daily.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh thanks BJ, need to check it out.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I got a wonderful BDay present from Linda Kay today! All sorts of goodies! The cutest little picture frames that I can put pix of my ggd in! TY LK!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

WOW... Where is everyone today? Guess it's a beautiful day at your house too, and you're all busy little bees... huh?

Well, I need your attention for just a moment... to look at what Debra sent me for the FQ swap... And let me tell you, Debra is a pro at picking fabric coordinates... I'm so pleased, and as soon as I saw them all together, I decided what I'm going to make with them. Since these are the colors I'm using in the master bedroom, I think I'm going to make (drum roll please) my first REAL quilt. Even if I have to send it off somewhere to have it quilted... I can just see a beautiful appliqued quilt... each block using the same pattern, but different print. Can't you see that?
THANK YOU, DEBRA!!! You could not have pleased me more... and this really made my day...
The bottom row are the ones I sent to Debra... the top row is the ones she shopped so long and hard to match the ones I sent her... she did an excellent job.

I'm glad you like them, BJ. My favorites are the ones on the far right of your stack and far left of my stack (doesn't show much). They are both florals in greens and yellows. All of the smaller patterned florals are cute, too. Can you tell I'm partial to florals?

A quilt with appliques in varying patterns will be pretty! Based on your purse production, you will have the quilt finished by mid-week. lol! Speaking of appliques, etc. ... some day I'd like to make a quilt from different fabrics featuring roosters. Remember the applique piq quilt on ebay? Every fabric used - including the borders - had pigs on it but different colors and patterns. I may start collecting rooster fabric to do the same - in the future. Too many projects lined up now that must be completed first.

Yes, the weather has been nice here today. How about you? Have you been outdoors today?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

The far left of your stack? would that be the Jacobean print? I love that one too... and I think of all of them together... that's my favorite...
Yep... guess those both would be my favs... guess I like floral too... hmmm... really never thought about that.

For the rest of you, these are the two Debra's talking about... look how the two florals can actually coordinate and compliment one another...

I know, it doesn't take much to entertain me...

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

And, Yes... Debra... I have been outside... until it actually got to hot, and I started sweating... that was my que to come in and sew.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

DH and I were filling in the 'escape hatches' Woody had dug under the fence then sprinkled cayenne pepper along the fence line. He will get a snoot full of pepper next time he starts digging! It was warmer than expected out there.

BJ, if you do another swap the first of the year I'll be ready! Between reading the book Jaye sent me, the book purchased at the quilt shop, and taking the quilting class - I'll know how to choose fat quarters!

Working on a lap quilt for my brother now. He purchased a new home and it will be a house warming gift. Also have fabric to make my future DSIL a lap quilt featuring scenes with deer and turkey.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I've been out running and having car trouble:( It is gray and cloudy here but the rain hasn't started yet.

I do love those fabrics....those are some of my favorite colors and patterns also....I guess great minds think alike..lol..! My fabric purchase was some more velvet for my santas, I found the fur I want at JoAnn's in remnant box by the office.....they will put my name on it but I can't buy it until tomorrow....is that ridiculous or what? But it was the only piece like it in the store (or town for that matter). So guess I drive back up to JoAnn's tomorrow!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, I had to spend the morning getting my son home, then came home and just piddled around in the yard... amazing how much I get done just piddling...
Then I decided to do something about the tote bag I started for one of my g'daughters a couple weeks ago... just wasn't happy with it, and threw it to the side... usually I'd rather start all over from scratch rather than pick out all those seams... but some of the squares I had done some personalized embroidery on, so I couldn't just scrap it... I've picked all the seams out, and just finished remaking it... I'm happier now, but it's not finished.

And that has been my day... can we all say BORING !!!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Sounds like we are all just a bundle of fun today doesn't it?

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Bj,. on my first project, I've got ripping out seams down to a science.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

I looked at fabric today. I didn't see any 100% cotton. Every bolt I looked at had 65% polyester.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Well Deborah you are ahead of me....you have to sew them before you can rip 'em out!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Where were you shopping Deborah?
I think all fabric stores have 100% cotton fabric... did you ask the sales clerk?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I did get a bit miffed at the lady in the fabric dept today at walmart... son had to stop and get a few groceries, so I went over there to get some flannel... and a few other prints I was needing.
The lady was filling in from another department (the regular craft employees all know me by name now)... well.. I saw there wasn't much on the bolt, so I asked for what was left on it... there was 2 yards and 27"... so I asked her to just leave the other 2 inches on there and give me the 2 3/4 yards... she refused... said she'd have to charge me for the 2 yds and 27"... soooo, I told her to cut the 2" off and throw it away...
The next bolt I wanted 3 yards.. and it also came up 2yds, 27"... It told her to also cut the 2" off and throw it away.
I don't think she likes me.
The regular craft ladies in there always leave on a couple inches if that's the end of the bolt.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I would've been PO'd too-she doesn't even regularly work there and is being difficult-UGH-maybe she was having one of those days...after work I went grocery shopping, then came home and cleaned the kitchen-just got done!! I got the CUTEST THING for MIL for xmas-I soooo wish I could post a pic!! I am about to sit down on the floor in a few mins and get my area claened up here-I have seeds to sort-I got most of them collected yest while waiting for the trick or treaters siren.

I really like those prints!!! MIL sent me pilow covers out of the fabric I picked for thanksgiving (a turkey in bright colors that says "Gobble til you Wobble") and a xmas one (blue w/ sledding snowmen)-but the pillows I have are WAYY to small-need to measure the covers and get a form....if anyone sees a really super cute thanksgiving fabric, PLEASE pick it up for me-enough for a pillow-and I will send you money-I like to have 2 seasonal pillows for the living room:)

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well it got up to 72 here I think but it wasn't a pleasant 72. Windy and a wee bit uncomfortable so I cleaned some more of the kitchen cupboards, sewed a while and then I gasp!! hang on for this: washed my kitty!!! She is a full bloodied white manx and had managed to get herself rather dirty crawling under the tool box in the utility room. She is white now and I am white with nice pink scratches. LOL Actually she wasn't bad, I thought this time to cut the toenails before the bath.

Deborah, I ask you to tell those Dawgs to be hungry!!! What happened or did the score change since I turned it off. Oh but it wasn't good when I did turn it off. Seam ripping is all part of the learning process. I can remember in high school having to rip out a zipper 13 times and redo it before the teacher would accept it. I certainly can do zippers now. Thanks to her!!!

Guess Jaye is either still shopping or watching the ball game. I guess LSU is playing today--didn't check.

Sending hugs to Cindy and Tia. My arms are around you both sending all the love and comfort I can during this time.

Off to do something else---like go to bed and finish a book I have started. I am just gonna "humor" me tonight.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Night Marion....I am off to Church in a few so will talk to you tomorrow some time....sweet dreams! (Sorry, not giving MY kitty a bath......Laura named her Hellion for a good reason!)

Kinda quiet tonight. Mom has the GS so it is nice and quiet here, really to quiet. Watching 2 different football games. Oklahoma is beating the snot out of Nebraska, and a boring game so I am watching Texas getting beat so far by Texas Tech.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Cindy, so sorry to hear about Bucky.

I drank too much last night and haven’t slept enough for several days due to being in a manic phase, well I came down today and that mixed with the fatigue I get from drink too much, I was hosed today. I went back to bed this afternoon. I also really don’t like Nov. and it hit me this morning that it was Nov. so I was a little emotionally drained as well.

Hellion is also huge, I wouldn’t give her a bath in anything less than Kevlar.

Here are costume pictures:
