Deb-how come you put them in baggies?? AFTERNOON/MORNIN my georgia peach!!
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞ 47
If any kids were to knock on my door, I'll be read with Halls Cough Drops!!
Hey there sweet Staceypoo. I bag them up because I want the kids parents to know which house these came from. I put my address sticker on the bag.
Jaye, you are so far out in the boonies do you get trick or treaters?
Just your occassional lost hunting dogs, Deborah.... :D
Marion and BJ has your Aristolochia serpentaria Virginia Snakeroot and seeds come yet? This plant is a great host plant for the Pipevine Swallowtail and it is also a US native that is fast becoming a rare plant that we need to establish back into our woodlands and shade gardens. Plant the seeds around the plant and allow them to colonize in a spot within your shade garden. Debra's already gotten hers.
Well Jaye, the you can throw out some doggie biscuits. LOL
Hello,
I'm here kinda just lurking, not in a chatty mood as vet called yesterday and Bucky may have cancer in his lymp nodes (sp). They are running more lab test will get back to me today sometime. I'm trying to bake an apple pie but my phone keeps ringing, so I will be busy for a couple of hours.....TTYL
Hey Deborah, glad you finally made it here. You have a lot of tricksterd at your place? Sounds like most of you are ready for a fun evening!
Be careful, and watch out for the tp, and eggs!!!
Morning Marion, sorry to hear your having serger & computer problems.
I have a desk top, and a laptop to work with. I turned on the desk top to use the camera to talk with my Dad last Saturday, and it just started making this terrible high pitched squeel, and won't do anything, and my laptop keeps shutting down on me, so Todd told me to start lookg for a new computer! When I told him how much they are, he said "WHAT"!!! So I am still looking. I know the laptop can be fixed, just gotta find someone trustworthy to do it.
Phyllis, I don't know how you put up with the kids like that, but at least he is no longer on the bus! Serves him right. Stacey, I agree, if we even thought of doing things like that, our behinds would be bruised for a week!!! Loved your shirt Phyllis, so cute!
Laura, are you going to tell us your tools of the trade, for punkin carving? What do you use?
Ladies be good if you can.
Will check back in later.
Why must you bring up apple pie, Cindy?? I got my mind set on pumpkin pie!
Poor poor Bucky... I'll go around and tell my furry babies send healing vibes to Bucky.
Deborah, what are snakeroots??
Cindy, so sorry to hear that news! ((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Just take it easy, and keep us posted please?
Don't burn the pie!
LK
LK, hope you find the bestest deal. PC prices have gone down incredibly, especially those notebooks.
Marion, at least you got 25 years. Hard to find any machines now that will give that many years. And yes, I still want a long arm quilting machine.
Deborah, were still waiting to see what your project is!!!
Aw Cindy-so sorry to hear that:(
Deborah-I couldn't even imagine doing that for 350 peices of candy-my gma used to give out home meade treats-caramel apples, popcorn balls, stuff like that and always had them in ziplocs w/ her address and name and phone # on them...
Stacey, my mail will be here in about 15 minutes....Trick or Treat!!!!! Pie dough is chilling for 15 minutes...new recipe came with my kitchen aid.....o.k back to peeling apples...last Christmas my mom gave this cool apple peeler, has suction cup so you can use it anywhere, it peels, slices and cores all at the same time..It is fun to play with LOL..............
So so very sorry Cindy to hear about your baby. My thoughts are with you and your puppy.
Cindy, you ARE going to share your pie with us right???? LOL a la mode???
LK
Cindy, you have my prayers that the tests come back negative.
Linda, a tomato knife and pottery tools; first one I just use for detailing or to remove small bits of pumpkin on cut through pumpkins, the top of the second I use to mark out the design, bottom second and third for large area detailing, five I just used for eyes on the Greenman, six is a wonder for cleaning out pumpkins ( I don’t think I can go back to the old way), swivel knife is used to make surface cuts (for instance areas to be skinned) and the tomato knife is for removing the tops and cut through pumpkin carving. I must thank mom here, all the tools but the swivel knife are hers.
No wonder you do a good job, you have all those professional tools to work with.
Nice job on the pumpkins!
LK
Cool pumkins, Laura! Maion, my attempt may not result in lost fingers but the air around me would be colorful ..... because of all the 'blue words' coming from my mouth!
Cindy, we're waiting with you for an update. Your heart must be breaking.
Phyllis, you have the patience of a saint. Probably a requirement to drive a bus. Acting out is one thing, but this child sounds as though thre may be more serious issues in his life. I hope someone is considering a family assessment.
That's ambitious, Deborah, but I be the parents really appreciate it.
Wreath swap names have been dmailed. Let me know if I missed anyone. Off to do some sewing soon.
OH MAN!!!! Phyllis... I knew a little boy that acted like that sometimes when he didn't take his ADHD meds.... You really can't control a kid like that, cause they really aren't thinking strait. Hope he gets some help really soon, though.
Cindy... I'm still holding your hand while we both worry about Bucky... (but I'll let go long enough for you to bake that pie)... (((((( Cindy )))))
Well, I just got home from taking my son to take care of some of the business to handle that whole stolen check problem he had a couple weeks ago. He finally got the affidavit in the mail from the bank... along with a certified copy of the canceled check. We took that up to the water department so they would wave the reconnect fee when his water was cut off, and they told us that that person who altered the check to her name has water service under her name on their database... and the DL# was the same. We took it to the police department and told them what the water department said, and the detective said, "Oh, we're NOT going to have a problem finding her"... so, Happy Halloween to the thief... they'll have her picked up before dark.
So, son came home with me to do his laundry and stay the night with me so the ghouls and goblins don't get me tonight.
Deborah... I just went out to get my mail out of the box... and YES... I got the snakeroot, and all the other seeds you sent me. THANK YOU, GIRLFRIEND... WOOPIE... I'm going right now to plant the snake root...
so, plant the bareroot, then plant the seeds around it... right?
you guys gotta look on the halloween thread to see what I sent Cindy:)
I got a box from her today that had a cute little pair of booties in it-look like something a afairy would wear:) And a butt load of smells for her candles-if anyone else wants to smell them (there is like 20) I can send them to ya-I feel bad like they will be wasted if I don't pass them on:)
Yep, BJ! Read both handouts real good so you get a good understanding of that native plant.. Those V.S.(Aristolochia) seeds will take a while to germinate. Some may germinate very very late. You want to establish a colony of those plants together around each other. The other seeds can be winter sown.
Fairy, I'll go take a look see. If you have any smell goods left, I'd love one. I'm asking and don't even know waht you are talking about yet. It's like seeing and ad that says "Free" and I get one. ROFLOL
Cindy sent me the scents for the soy candles she makes so I can pick out what I like:)
So you have to send those back. Well, ok, nothings free anymore. ROFLOL
So sad about Bucky, Cindy. Our Rottie, Bo, had cancer last year. I'll be praying for comfort for both you and Bucky.
No Deb-I don't have to send them back, I just figured I had them and instead of throwing them away, if anyone else wanted to sniff them to help choose, then I would forward them on is all-no snese in wasting them-I imagine the scents are expensive..
Deb, I've read both handouts... and have planted them in my shade garden. I'm so excited to get them started here, because I read that they're an endangered species... I going to feel so bad if I kill them now.
BTW... I bought a package of 18 bulbs of Ranunculus to put out among my butter/hummer plants, only because they say that they make good companion plants for some of the butterfly garden plants... and I do want some cut flowers too... I've never grown these... so, if anyone has any advise... please share.

Stacey... I'd like a chance to smell them... I'm figuring I'll order some from her later next month.
Stacey, GET THE PEACH SCENT! ITS WONDERFUL!
Cindy just sent me a box of baby fabrics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm so excited they are blanket softies! Ok, Marion, now what do I do with them?
Well hello dear Grandma to be! Yes, I got the package and tomorrow will find me out putting them in my shade garden area!!! I think it is great to try to reestablish a native that is becoming extinct. Wonder if that can be done for people too? If so put my name down.
Cindy, my heart is heavy sharing your sad news but will be there for support. I came home from my trip to find my manx in really bad condition. She gets nervous (drawback of a full blooded baby) and pulled all the hair out she could reach. Guess it is back on tranquilizers for her. Keep us posted on Bucky--when he comes home give him an extra treat.
Linda Kay, I bought a laptop last year and only paid $400.00 on a sale at Best Buy--best part financed year with no interest. Of course, it didn't take that long but it was a nice "beany" if I had needed to do it. I may have to resort to using it --when DD returns home. She has it now. I seriously can't complain about my serger--it has seen a many a dress, costume, well name and it has probably seen it.
Jaye, am I gonna have to come get you and bring you here? Feed you chicken soup and take care of you so you will get well and stop doing things you shouldn't? BTW, I do use brown sugar and have been known to use Splenda in the pumpkin. Also low fat evaporated milk. Couldn't remember if I posted that or not.
Oh BJ I am so glad things are progressing with your son and the check situation. Lovely halloween treat or trick for the person responsible. Love to see their face!!!
Laura, remember pictures. Trisha, we got my hubby to dress up one time!! He did for a Madrigal dinner our daughter coordinated for the high school years ago. Complete with tights--he was the King of Lower Canada and Upper Michigan as he said.
LOL... Ok, Marion... pack your bags again... looks like your making a road trip to Deborah's house... Let the Lessons begin....
Marion, you can spend the night in my guest room! Yup, this country girl has a citified sho-nuff real guest room.
Geez, I don't know if I will know how to act if I don't sleep on the floor with a trillion cats crawling over me! LOL
So what is your schedule for the next week or so?
I'm here all next week and the following week too!
Marion, are you talking costumes, Cedric, or am I forgetting something; I only got four hours sleep last night and no nap so I’m not quite all here. I had to use spell check on forgeting (original spelling)
Cindy any news yet?
Marion dahlin' you should know me by now. I don't exercise enough and Kel won't let me do anything strenous around the house. But got that impatient streak sometimes to see things done, and can't wait on him.
Yeah, we want to see pics of your costumes too Laura.
Well a short posting.. waving to the rest of my sistahs..
head's throbbing now..
OK BJ-they will be coming your way soon-I just have to figure out which ones I like and then I will pass them along-they are on cotton balls in little soufle cups so they will be good and smelly for a while:)
I just talked to Mike-Kathy has just been a little under the weather today, so he has her resting-thank goodness cuz you know as well as I do she is go, go, go-so I am glad he is making her rest up:)
I had a couple real cute trick or treaters-wanna see??
