Mine didn't come, either, but if anything goes wrong, it'll be me! My kinda luck!
2nd. Annual DG Christmas Workshop "Victorian Santa" Pt.4
Debra, Betty is sending those parts to us.....
Audrey, mine didn't show today either:(......they must be hanging out together!
It's a long way to Tenn. from Canada!
Debra, you should have had the round piece and the dowel in your package.
no package here yet. But I can wait... still need to sew my robes :o)
on that note... I went to Joannes today and they had a HUGE assortment of accessories for the santas...all at 30% off too! and their crushed velvet was 50% off at $2.30 per yard... so of course I had to buy some of that as well :o)
Betty, for the smaller santa faces...can we just use the cone shaped styrofoam underneath? or do we need something more sturdy for the bodice?
Tomorrow is payday....if there is anything left I'll see if our JoAnn's has the same sale going!!!!! I think the Santa's would make great gifts if I get them figured out! And yes, I still need to get up the nerve to do my robe too:)
No package here yet either, but I haven't done my robe either, so I need to get on the ball.
I agree about them making great gifts.
Ok...Fleurdefouquet, what was in your package..there was a couple that I sent 2 envelopes to..tried to be on the ball, let's hope all the kits get there not only intact but the correct order...think I sent you extra hair, know you wanted all the extra faces and knew you'd not be able to find the hair, so IF you don't need the extra, sent it back and I'll re-imburse you for shipment..you should have had 1 full kit then the extra faces...so there very well may be an extra still coming..will go check packaging slips..if I can't find it I'll ship it out tomorrow...
1AnjL...you'll see how easy it is to make the armature and it would be better than the foam cone....wait till you see the set-up then decide..
I got a lovely letter today thanking me for my troubles and guess what it was inside a beautiful hand made card...I LOVED it...it's given me ideas...I purchased a Christmas Embroidery CD for my sewing machine and it's never been used..so am thinking about the cards I make, if I left out the iris folding part I could embroider and include it inside the template...omg it's just soooo beautiful...now I guess you'd like to know from who and then I'm sure you'll be wanting to see....
It came from Trishia, all the way from Olympia, Washington
Want to see my pretty..will immediately be put on the fireplace mantle..thanks Trishia for all the ideas that came with it...
Just got in from shopping, was looking for trinkets to put in the Victorian Santa's right hand..found a few plus a few other little objects...but am going back next Friday..the Christmas dishware and everyday dishes for seasonal is absolutely beautiful and eye catching as is many christmas decorations and all from between $2.00 - $8.00 unbelievable...but tonight, it was only for the decorations needed for my workshop next Sat.
Of course I did purchase 4 other gift for my painting friends...$3.00, how can you go wrong..also 8 stick metal angels to put in floral arrangments I give away..usually have a day that's all I do then go deliver them, some bring back the floral decorations and others not..so needed more..angels were only 2 for $1.00 what a bargain...lol
Fleursdefouquet give it a couple of days and let me know if another arrived... I'll start keeping tabs...went and looked at the shipping slips..they only contain the return address and what is in them..off you go, check your pkg again...almost sure there is another...
Betty I am glad you enjoyed the card.....while I enjoyed making them I still need a lot practice in the needlework department.....but when I was looking through my cards to find one to send I thought you would appreciate this particular card. We are all so excited about the Santa Project. Having done many classes in the past, both as Student and as Teacher, I appreciate all the time, work and money that goes into these projects......and we don't always let people know how much they are appreciated as often as we should.....and you have brought so much joy to so many of us with the projects you share.....and we really do appreciate all of your time and effort.
Thank you Trisha and I do so love the card.. It's soooo cold here this morning, didn't help that I turned the furnace down, up it goes ... happy day today 4 hr. work day (shucks 3 hr. to drive back/forth) oh well not for much longer And it's Halloween....
Hope the wind dies down for these little gaffers..ooops last night I truly was tired posted same photo twice...lol
Wow Betty, you always seem to find great deals. Nice job! So how many yards of velvet did you get?
Do you have trick or treaters where you are? Do you dress up?
We are out of the city, so we have no kids here. They all go into the city, to get more candy. So it is nice and quiet here.
I too would like to say thank you for being our very gracious hostes, and teacher for this Santa project. I know how much of your time it takes. I wish I could have been in on the sleigh one from last year. That is so pretty also.
Betty, have a great day, be careful traveling.

Edited for spelling. Guess I need more coffee?

Morning, it was a sunshine ride in..
Thank you Linda Kay...my pleasure...putting a smile (let's hope) on someones face is what living is all about...
Sitting here having BTL/coffee, painting some santa faces, lordy I thought I had more than I have, so back to pouring and painting ! have my Christmas list out trying to organize myself as I want to do more shopping at Ganz next Friday...all the kinds of things one wants to fill their work day with...lol
Halloween..I have about 100-125 each year but have a feeling with weather being A+, a Friday night there will be many more...I will pick up
10 cases of pepsi (if any left I can use it for Christmas or ME) dropped into Walmart on our way in...NO chips, so will have to find candies if I can't find chips on my way home...I will dress up, I've done my deck entrance so that's done...guess I'm organized...will clear the living room table and cut out santa outfits in between..make myself usefull...
I believe that the roll has 28.5 meters...(39" in a meter versus 36 in a yard) if my memory serves me right, had bought about 6 or 7 blue/green a few weeks ago..then this time not quite sure, but think it's 4.5 blue, 5.5 green...so should have enough..I'm going to drop into Fabricland today and pick up a Mrs. Claus pattern so that I'll really pay attention cutting what I need of the bold of red/maroon so I might have enough for her costume...
So much to do and so little time...lol...
Have a wooden sock which is cut in the shape of a snowman that I'm doing for ME/ME, a sleight that is hand painting with Christmas design, 2 sets of Carollers...must take a photo of the fireplace screen I did for DIL last year...I so want it back..lol..doubt she'll give it to me..should do another...
As you can see, there is no time for the wicked...
WOW! That is a lot of fabric for a santa dress!!! Sounds like it will be so heavy? Please share a picture of you dressed up.
What do you do with so many pepsi's and chips. Is that what you give out instead of Candy?
Pepsi, or any sodas are getting very pricey here. Over $4.00 per 12 pack! Just like everything else, price is going up. But Thank God Gas is going down. $2.08 yesterday.
Have a great week end.
LK
Mornin, morning!!
My MIL will fly to Betty's if they're the only Pepsis left on this earth! She's addicted to them!!
Betty, you're just wickedly crafty!! :D
I'm off pumpkin hunting for that pumpkin pie.
Linda Kay, I'm so laughing, hey girl that's for about 35 of them for the workshop I teach..only part I'm keeping is about 5 meters for my Mrs. Santa...lol...you are toooo cute...
Jaye, I spend 6 months in the hospital, cocacola ate the lining of my stomach..was only 16 or 17.. whenever I was hungry I'd take a sip of pop and I could virtually feel it being taken into my system..addiction is right, specialist told me that it's one of the hardest addictions to break no more/no less than real 'coke'...
Whew, glad to hear that. I totally mis understood that one. I can just see you trying to walk around with all that fabric!!! LOL
That soda can really do a number on ones system! Be careful with it.

Checking in before the mass of gobblins and ghosts arrive...no packages received today...oh well maybe Monday!
Not today, maybe another day.
Maybe tomorrow-tomorrow, tomorrow--wel something like that.
nothing today...but I AM a loooong way from canada...unfortunately!
I guess...must have more patience right?
Not today, either! Maybe tomorrow!
Nothing today but two of THOSE we can't talk about it here flyers (the Trick, not the Treat) and went straight in the recycle bin, couldn't even use it in the bird cage!:(
Hope tomorrows mail is better:)
Yeap I got those also Trisha, plus a knock on my door only to find to adults asking what party I support! Duh! I told them my "Sistahs Party" complete with Bailey's !!!!! Guess they think a whacko lives here now.
LOL!
Now that is a Party I would like.....must be a lot of us whackos out here!!!
I had NOT ONE kid/person come by for trick-or-treat! Didn't really expect any--but i did buy 2 bags of mini-chocolates.....I guess most of the kids now go tot he Malls for Halloween parties....I even put a couple decorations outside to say--"You are welcome here..."
Guess WHO is going to eat them all.....slowly but surely......YUK!
Sorry Gita, we get on average 20 -30 kids...the problem I have with ours is that over half of them are really too old to be out trick or treating!!! As Erma Bombeck used to say if they have to shave they're too old for this!!!
Morning!! Funny Marion.. sistahs party complete with Bailey's!!
Well, nothing here neither, maybe this afternoon.
Got my robe done.. and I discovered, I lost my balls!!!!
Good excuse to run to Michael's :D
I wouldn't touch that for the world!!!!
Enjoy Michaels.
Jaye, you lost your what!!! ROTHLMAO!!!
I have my material cut, and sewn, just waiting on the kits to arrive. Maybe we will get them today, so we can continue with Betty's directions?
Later
Linda Kay

Happy sewing everyone...Hope your kits start arriving today.
Oh Judy, I was drinking coffee. Had to clean my monitor.
Shame on you Jaye!
Tee hee hee, Jaye! Good huntin'!!
You've got me sooo laughing this morning, yep needed that...too much you girls are...
Oh happy days, glad June sent Alex over with her gift for me...here I was in my jammies at this time of day, but am cutting about 40/50 Victorian Santa kits out of different velvet colors....see what she brought, glad I've some left untouched because these heads are about 4 to 5" high, beautiful..have actual gloves as well...now I'll really have to be creative...1 for me, 1 for Suzanne (I'll have to hide hers and give it as a Christmas gift, might go shopping for brocade on Friday when I drive to the city myself....) how wonderful..
I truly am blessed, sitting here thinking as I drink coffee with homemade cookies Kathy dropped off, Santa heads ...call from girlfriend Diane, she's out picking red berry branches this aft. for me for my Christmas flower arrangements...can anyone be any more blessed?
