Morning ladies...
LK... a cold frame doesn't have a bottom in it. It sits right on top of the dirt. I want one to plant veggie seeds, like tomato and peppers, so I can transplant them to the garden area sooner. Last year, the stores here didn't have tomato plants until April... people who raised seeds in a cold frame had plants in the ground in March, and had an earlier crop. Not that I raise a big veggie garden, but there's a few veggies that we do like to grow.

Oooooo.... the b'day fairy, huh ??? Well, then... we'll see what happens then.
Don looked at my redneck engineering, and all he said was... "that'll work, won't it?" So, guess he's not real interested in building me one. These 3 days he has off are his last off days till after Thanksgiving, so... I guess I should just let him do what ever he wants.
Yup-Don has already peed off the Bday fairy off B4, so he needs to stop getting you EVERYTHING your heart desires:) THe rest of the year that is great, but B4 your Bday and Xmas he leaves it so no one has anything to get for you:( Shame on him for being wonderful;)
LOL... sorry, Fairy Lips... guess he just has to learn to say NO to me... huh?
NOT !!!!
Good morning!!
Lots of work to do in the garden as tomorrow is the start of temps going down in the low 30's.
Say Fairy Niece, if Uncle Don wants to keep spoiling Tante BJ, that's okay, it's his DUTY!! LOL. Don't want the man to undo all that training.
Hi Phyllis, LK. Hope you both have a restful day today. Not too sure about you Phyllis, as you're always trying to be more busy than the bee!
Catch you all ladies later.
LOL... I don't know who has who trained here... we both spoil each other. BUT... I'll try to keep him in check till after my birthday, just for you Fairy Lips... but then, all bets are off... ok?
Cause, My Christmas list is getting pretty long too.
OK:)
So whats on your Christmas list BJ????
Ok, Lets start another converation. Whats on your Christmas list. Tell us one thing you would really like "Santa" to bring you???
Linda Kay
Just ONE thing?
Ok... you first LK !!
bbbbbzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ..ROFL....today is not a work on projects day so far other then I am making cinnamon apples right now for our birthday dinner for my daughter. She leaves for Houston in the morning and tomorrow is her 30th BD so we are having steaks and such here instead of going out and as soon as I have them done and int eh frig we are headed to the apartment to get the spare bedroom stuff in the trailer to store it until the step son living with us gets a place.....really heavy wishful thinking there...LOL..or maybe he wont come home he left yesterday to go work out then called Dh and said he was goin over to a guys house we had meet at the verizon store last week from WI to watch the football games and Dh told him you better not drive if your drinking ...SS said he wasn't but he never came home last night.....sooooooooooo LOL
Mmmmm... steaks... bet that SS will be home when he smells them cooking.
Good luck to your DD in Houston... and tell her happy b'day for us...
I can smell those cinnamon apples all the way over here, Phyllis.
oh so true but then will he be hungry then or go to his room and sleep more ...depends on how much he drank and if he made himself sick or not ....can't say what I hope for LOL
oh you can can you????? cinnamon red hots in 2 c. water with a bit of sugar if tart apples heat to melt red hots peel cut in quarters core and put in the hot water and bring to a low boil ..remove then chill in frig ....yum yum LOL
think I need to go look into apple trees taht grow in texas LOL
My one wish.
I would love to have a green house, but that won't happen, so I guess I would like a new sewing machine. Mine is just a cheap one from Wal-Mart I got about 5 years ago, and it really has it's issues lately with the tension. It won't let the top thread go through, even though I have the tension as loose as I can get it. So I guess I have my $99.00 worth of sewing on it.
Linda Kay
My mom tried growing apples in NE Texas... they didn't do very well... she got some knots that looked like they were going to become apples once, but then they dropped... I think it just gets too hot here for them.
I'd love to grow some good eating pear trees here... those like the Bartlett pear that you can just pick off the tree and eat... not have to cook... but so far, I haven't heard good things about them doing well here.
LK... take that sewing machine down to your local sewing machine repairman... and tell him to adjust the tension for you... clean and oil it for you, and check it out completely...
I was having the same problem with my OLD Singer once... cost very little to fix the problem... I couldn't adjust it, because there was a screw missing...
I want a Gammill-----or any good long arm quilting machine-----
Just one wish LK? I could think of more :D
But I settle for one of those John Flynn's, for under $200 instead of thousands!!
Kel wants to go to Paris for Christmas he says.. he might get his wish. Might send him to Paris, Arkansas :D
why not paris texas LOL
Any Paris in USA will be cheaper than Paris, France!! Lol Phyllis!!
Ok... I have several wishes that really make ONE wish for Christmas... it all ties in together to make one wish.
One 4 man yard crew for a week.
Four trees removed and the stumps ground out.
Two pallets of Cotton Burr Compost.
And the rest of the supplies I need to build two very short retaining walls (I already have the concrete blocks and the drain rock)
AND the energy to get it all done.
I want everything I see!
Fairy, do you think the bday fairy will come to see me? I hope so, I love s'prises!
I think I'm gonna hint for my sweetie to get me a dremmel for Christmas! Lowes has one for $39.95 that has several attachments, cord free, and I think I could learn to use it. I never told everyone that I made some mushrooms from papier mache' and painted them, and put polyurethene on them. I out stems from artificial flowers in their stems, so I can stick those in the dirt to hold them up. They're cute! I just couldn't smooth the surfaces out! Files didn't work! Now that I'm feeling better, I'm gonna start to do more stuffies!
Yes, Jaye... make it Paris, TX... that's not so far from me and Phyllis... you can stop over here while you're that close.
Hey, I'm with you on the quilting machine! You can get one for under $200.00? Where? I'd love to have one!
Woohoo... there you go BJ. I'd be wishing for more sets of muscles too!!
(((((Audrey)))) glad the medicines are working out for you. Hate it when your mind wants to get busy, and your body refused to co-operate.
I got one of those cordless dremmels, still haven't use it yet. Most probably gonna use it to trim Lola's nails!! Lol.
I been missing Marion... and that sofa looks so lonely. Being it's a beautimous day outside, I decided to air it out, and make good use of it!
We'll be swangiinnnnnn...♫♪
Audrey, so glad to hear your feeling better. About time those meds kicked in??? You will like your dremel tool. There is lots you can do with it. the other bits are kinda pricey, but well worth it.
BJ, what we could do with a 4 man work crew for a week???
LK
It's a frame, Audrey that can be used with ANY sewing machine. Just have to provide your own pipes. Since this man has been selling these for so long, they must work. I had seen it once shown on Alex Anderson's show, and had been wanting one. Kel said he'd build me one, you all know how that goes..
http://www.flynnquilt.com/
And I could use a backhoe too, LK!
Gonna get some lunch. See you sistahs later!
Jaye, I like, I like! The one I saw was $129.00, pretty affordable, huh? Sounds like it would save lots of frustration! I'd just need to get one of those long folding tables from W*M to assemble on! Neat!
Paris France then Jaye could visit her sister!
Christmas wish, that the grandbaby is a baseball playing BOY! I'll take a petite pretty little girl as a second wish. But if it is a girl when we find out in December,, then I'm hunting down this post and editing "girl" as my first wish. Make sense?
Yep... that makes perfect sense... you don't care what it is... they're both your Christmas wish.
hmmm-one thing for Xmas.....would either be another bookshelf to put my crafty stuff on or a paint organizer like the one they have at collections etc....
Actually I take it back-my 1 Xmas wish:my plane ticket to TX for May:)
Deb, believe me, you'll be happy with what you get!! What if it's both?!!!
Hey Stacy I got an idea ...hehehehe..you get yourself down to Urbana IL like a day or two before x-mas then you hop in my folks car and help them drive and you can be in Texas for x-mas and just stay til may and I'll share ya with Bj and even Tia and anyone else near Texas LOL
Phyllis... I think Fairy Legs is talking about the BIG get together at my house for Mem Day weekend in May... She's taking vacation time to come down here... so you're going to have to help me show her a good time.
Oh yeah I know but I thought we could extend it further LOL
Is that your wish Phyllis to have a tootin' fairy for Christmas?
He he he!!
Deborah, we'll help spoil that grandbaby!
Cathy..
your buddy would like to know what ingredients you use to bake with, your likes, color preferences, and anything you think she should know.
She's hoping to send you something you'd like for the 2009 Swap.
