I think Cedric would enjoy a visit to Texas too... and I wouldn't feed him some ole' cold pizza, either... Froggies don't eat Pizza !!! He'll have the best Texican foods I can muster up here... with a bit of bug juice to please any froffie.

Cedric is making travel plans.....son in law says the pizza was NOT cold.....my DH said that mug was holding Whistling Pig the finest local Fishtale Microbrew........Cedric says....that was Last Night.....MMMMMM Texican and Bug Juice (a little late for June Bugs, what's in season now?)....make my reservations!!

I hope Cedric will visit Arkansas, too! He could go sight seeing and share with the sistahs what he sees while here. If he came at the right time of year he could visit Toad Suck Ferry (the name of the town) for Toak Suck Daze and compete in the frog jumping contest!

Emily is just too adorable, Audrey!!! I could pinch those cheeks!!

Taking a much needed break from the game.. Deborah, I hope one of the SEC teams will be in the finals. The Dawgs are good!

field trip was a breeze was suppose to be 16 students go and only 5 went and the other bus from the other HS in town has a whole 3 students go ...all for some chorus contest to see if any of them could get in for some chorus that will perform next month someplace.

It's not a banana, it's a plaintain. It looks like a banana. I've never eaten one, though, and I don't know how to cook them!

ok thanks I was asked by the other driver today and I had no idea what the name was even though I remember seeing them in the store he said they have a "bunch" of them at the food pantry at church and no one knew what to do with them LOL

Audrey's right, it's a plantain. Maybe Laura knows what to do with them. Some says to use it in lieu of your other starches, like potatoes.

Well, I've come to the conclusion that bread crates + plastic sheeting = a redneck engineered cold frame. Maybe Don will take pity on me and build me one. Ya think? Because, it's really really pitiful.

My thread came today... so, I'm off to do some sewing... maybe that will boost my confidence again.

I somehow missed the move to this thread. How do I manage to do that?

Ok, can someone tell me where the mammogram conversation was? I was on it, realized I'd forgot to post in another thread and then couldn't remember which thread it was that I'd been on, so I can go back before "new" and read the rest of the thread.

I have 3 old windows under the house... but they all have metal frames, and I don't know how to use them so they'll hinge up.
Let us all just hope that Don feels sorry for me, and will build me one. He's off for three days, starting tomorrow...

Jaye, my Grandma is the quilter in the family. I might do a couple because it would allow me to make a blanket how I want it, but I’m more interested in clothes.

I have an electric from the 60s, but I’m not friends with it so I don’t end up using it, I am friends with the Treddle; I just love the feel of sewing on it, and I have so much control over what it does that it feels like an extension of my will, not something that does it’s own thing.

Tina, I don’t really sew either, I’ve joked that they need to start a Mixed quilters nuts thread, but there is other conversation going on here.

I throw them away BJ! And the ones from JCPenney, and WalMart and the drug emporiums.. Those advertised sales are deceiving, they always say, depending on the availability...

NO JAYE... the CC ad that pops up on all these threads... when I click on this thread from my thread watcher... if I click to fast, I always get the CC ad page... it dances around so you can't click until it stops dancing.

Oh dear BJ. I had some other ads that did that, and right away, use the "run without ads option" on DG.
Up to now, I have no problems.

Under your Preference menu, "ads" I think..then uncheck the ads box.

Genius? Ehem.. thanks BJ actually, I read it somewhere on one of the threads a few months back how to avoid those popping ads.. I thought it only happened to those folks cause I wasn't plagued by them, until Febreeze became a frequent unwanted annoying visitor!!

Plantains-usually just sliced and fried in a pan-oil or butter.....and yes VERY startchy-I don't particularly care for them...

Morning everyone. I have to ask what a cold frame is?
How is everyone doing? Hope you are having a wonderful week-end.

a cold frame is usually a small "box" that you have set up outside in the sun that you use to protect cool weather plants like lettuce& radishes and grow through the cold months and you use ti to harden off your plants started in side for planting in the spring.
its a mini green house of sorts

Ohhhhhhhhh, I got ya. So it could be made of old doors or windows, or even maybe a heavy plastic around a frame?
Sounds like it could save some plants?
