It's eerily quiet in her tonight.

Hello everyone, I am back, safe and sound, and no tickets...
Dr.'s appointment went well, so far so good. he told me use my hot wax tub, and soak my foot 3 times a day. Then in 3 weeks, I get the other foot done.
I got home tonight, and went out to check on my plants, and I have baby buds on my angel trumpets!!!! 4 different plants have buds, so in about 2 weeks or so I should have blooms. Don't know the colors, as they are all noids, but any color I will love...
Ladies, I will be back online in the morning. have a good night

Look at these from Brecks. They are so pretty! Guess what I will probably order, along with the lily trees?
LK
oooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww...BOO LOL
LK!! They are beautiful. How's your day Phyllis?
LK, I have to cut back on future plant purchases!!! Those oxalis are beautiful, but they are treated as annuals here, even though it's supposed to be hardy!
Boo to you too Phyllis :P

feeling some what better but still coughing yet productive LOL
still driving my route then answering the phone from 11:15 to 1:15 over lunch if it rings.
went out and dug a few sweet taters just to see if they even grew this year since it was the first time I ever tried them LOL
not real sure just when to dig but had read someplace before the first frost. or right after.
am going to be sitting over in Henderson Texas tomorrow all day at the high school on a trip so IF I can get online through my cell phone I'll try other wise I guess I just read magazines and nap LOL
Hello. Went out to eat tonight first time in 2 months (?can't remember last time) We met my DS and DDIL at Japanese restaurant at a hibcushi (sp) grill show/ My plate tipped over into my lap. I leaned over and what fell all over my chest flopped back into the plate. So I had something to eat. Then when we started to leave, I forgot my napkin was in my lap and it was stuck to me and fell onto the floor as I was leaving that little grilling room. Embarrassed Larry to high heaven. For some reason, it just didn't even phase me. DS and DDIL just smiled and hugged my neck. I think I'll wait a while before I go back out in public.
LOL... OMG... I'm sure glad that I'm not the only one that things like that happen to !!!.... LOL LOL LOL I'm the family clutz here... but the way I see it... if that's the worse that ever happened in that restaurant, they're not busy enough...
Phyllis... it's going to be a long boring day if you can't get on the net tomorrow.
I almost gave up on anyone being here tonight, so, I made blueberry muffins and we just finished stuffing ourselves again.
Phyllis is back to normal now.. so our breakfast service should be back to normal, sistahs!!!!
Nap tomorrow Phyllis..nap! Get paid to nap!
Deborah, that was an accident! Good attitude sistah!!
Once, dining at this fancy restaurant with this gorgeous guy, I was so nervous I picked up HIS wine glass without realising it, and drank it all!! The guy didn't stop me, instead calmly call the waiter and asked for a whole bottle! It was a good Carbenet!!
Say, is Larry praying for the Dawgs??
Kel says this LSU team is rebuilding.. so you never know. I promise I'll be civil to you tomorrow, and abstain from bragging on these juniors.
(But you know what I'm thinking)
BJ, I had a whole pail of fresh blueberries, left to air dry in the fridge. ANd they're good.
Well, they weren't muffins from scratch... Betty Crocker has a better recipe than I do, and I just have to add water and stir... Don LOVES them...
BJ, keep baking like that, I'll get fat just reading your posts!
Sistahs, a reminder.. don't forgot to get your annual flu shots. Had one last year, and it worked for me.
Gonna bid you all good night. The rain will lull me to sleep tonight. I've been having problems getting a good night's sleep. Keep waking up at odd hours, as though my body is fighting against it.
Night Sistahs.
Jaye, Son and Larry already figuring out the standings if we lose tomorrow. :( They are remembering the LSU SEC champs from last year and say they have what it takes to do it again. The dawg nation has their work cut out for them. GO DOGS! RUFF RUFF! sigh.
I love Blueberries!! Planted three little shrubs. Hope they make it over winter. Sure looked puenny over summer. I love those muffin mixes. Wonderful quickie snack, so moist too!~
nite nite Jaye.
I've had a total of 2 flu shots in my whole life... both times I came down with a very sever case of the flu... mom was the same way... so, no thanks... I'll pass the flu shots.
We're just happy to get hot muffins (or anything, for that matter) from the oven... so, even if it's a mix... we're loving it.
As usual running way behind everyone else....Laura and I had to pick up our little buddy Cedric S. Froffie and it took us most of the afternoon to locate him. Once found we had to take him to Michael's to do a bit of clothes shopping and then off to value village to pick up his little dog Bailey. All of this with Sage in tow and we were exhausted. Decided to stop by my SIL's workplace for a bit of dinner....

morning girls
I agree wtih BJ on the flu shots I end up with it instead of not getting it so I stick by my chicken broth/noodle soup and extra vitamin C tablets.
Trisha how cute Cedric and bailey look there looks like he didn't' get any pizza on his new clothes either ..very good LOL
everyone play nice today *S*
Good morning! BJ, any left over blueberry muffins?
Stacey, that's beautiful fabric! Phyllis, hope you are feeling better soon. Cedric and Bailey are so cute!!!! Cindy, that's a mystery about your plants. Maybe you can contact your local cooperative extension service for an answer.
Jaye and Deborah, hope you have a good, fun, competetive game. The Hogs play Ole Miss today here in Fayetteville. The Ole Miss Coach is our former coach, Houston Nutt, who got run out of town. I'm sure lots of fans would like to see the Hogs beat them as revenge, but I'm afraid Nutt may be the one getting revenge! LOL!
Today is 'work on recipe box' day. It's coming along much better this go round after having to scratch the first try and start over.
Nope, there's never any muffins left when Don's around. Sorry.
MORNIN" Sistahs !!!!
mornin ladies. Cold here this morning, 41 right now. I just hope to hole up in the house all day but I doubt it, DGS will want to go ride his bike. And I need to build some hoop houses for the chickens.
Mom and my aunt got back from Europe on Wednesday night, most everything they brought back for me was chicken related. Chicken salt and pepper shakers, a beautiful yellow place mat with chickens(silk), Chicken oven mits, a hand towel with little yellow chicky's, Coasters that have roosters as the pictures. A silk scarf (no chickens on this) And there is more for christmas. I am so glad to have her home.
Tia, bet your mom and aunt had great time. They definitely were thinking of you while there! Cool chicken stuff!
Ok, BJ, no muffins. DH made some nice hot oatmeal for breakfast this morning. It was yummy to the tummy. Oatmeal is supposed to be good for you but our version probably isn't - after adding butter and brown sugar.
Last night's appreciation dinner for Standardized Patients was fun. You can't be shy and do what we do, and many are local actors/actresses, so you can imagine it wasn't one of those boring, listen to speeches kind of night. They had a kareoke (sp?) stage set up, a local restaurant provided a fantastic fajita bar, wine and Mexican beer was served, and the awards were fun with a lot of good natured fun poked at a few. There are several retired men who are such hams. They're a fun bunch of people to be around. And guess what? I won an award! They give an annual award to the SP who shows exceptional dedication, blah blah blah. This was the first dinner they've had since 2003 so they presented the awards for previous years along with this year's recipient. I won the annual award for 2006! Could have knocked me over with a feather.
What's everyone doing this weekend? It's getting really chilly here. Was in the 40's last night.
Woo Hoo... MOM"S home !!!
Sounds like you got a lot of goodies from Mom's trip to Europe... is she full of stories to tell of her trip? I'm sure she had a good time.
Well, I've been at a stand still the last few days on my sewing indeavors because I ran out of colored Cotton thread... except white... I had to order it because noone out here carries the colors... Everyone = Walmart... my only choice out here... so, it was shipped on Thursday from Houston, and I should get it today ... WOO HOO... cause I have two projects cut out that I can not finish without Black thread...
But, while I'm waiting I'm going to rifle through Don's shop again and see if I can figure out how to build me a cold frame out of some bread crates I have laying around here... so, off to get started... bbl.
Debra, congrats... you're just a dedicated kinda gal...
It was suppose to frost here last night, so we brought all the plants in yesterday... but it only got down in the 50s... oh, well... they're in now, and we don't have to worry about them again.
BJ, what kind of thread do you use? Something special?
When I'm working with all 100% cotton fabrics, I only use 100% cotton mercerized thread. It allows the same shrinkage throughout the project.
That makes sense - think I was told that once before. Does anyone use Mettler brand? It is supposed to be superior to the type usually found in thread displays. I bought some a while back but only have one or two colors. It's more expensive - making it painful to leave any thread tails. lol!
Try ThreadArt.com... I've never had a problem with their threads... and it's reasonably priced... if you buy enough, the shipping is worth it...
Thanks!
BJ, is it the regular 100% cotton spools on sale for $1.59 right now? I may be ordering some.
Good morning my sistahs!!!
Tina-Tia, you must be relieved to see your mum back, not just for the surprises. It seems she's also your best friend.
What is it with chickens?? He he he, I love anything roosters. Those birds can be pretty colorful.
Congrats Debra. We know already that you are a very compassionate person, and any organization is lucky to have you.
I know how you feel about Nutt..... Sabin did LSU too, but for the money after saying he'd never leave the Tigers..blah.. blah..
Mettlers a good brand. I use Clarks for piecing, and 100% quilting cotton for top quilting. When I can, I always wash my fabrics before cutting.. so that will avoid unexpected shrinkage after piecing. Nowadays, some teachers say those good quality quilting cloth don't have to be prewashed.
Trisha------- Cedric and Bailey are too cute!! Are you already teaching Cedric to enjoy a cold one with pizza?? Did he pepper his like Kel and I do??
Wouldn't it be nice if us sistahs can take turns to play hostess to Cedric like the Aroid forum, where Lingernot, a gnome is sent from house to house for a week?
I'd love to have fun with him!! And I know Marion will. Just to visit us, and see what some of our days and nights may be.
Say yes Trisha!
And if you do, please let Cedric bring along his froffie passport so we can stamp the town's name he has visited.
Just an idea :D
Kel decided to take a day off from building.
Off to do what we like to do best.. get some food!!
Catch you all beautiful sistahs and nieces later!!
Yes... that's the one Debra... they must have just put it on sale... I paid $1.99 for each... but it's still a good deal.
Yes, Jaye... mom always washed her fabric too before cutting out a quilt... but that would defeat my purpose when making the rag quilts, since half the beauty of the ragging is in the shrinkage. Now, if I ever become a REAL quilt maker like you, I'll do that.
Morning all..!!!sounds like everyone has a pretty busy day planned....
Tia sounds like a lot of wonderful stuff!!! And more to come!!!! It does sound like they enjoyed their trip...
I've got to get Sage delivered home.....pick up flowers and get Flower arrangements done for Church. Then DH finally has his own office at work so he wants me to come down and refinish the desk top and decide what to do in the way of decorating.....that should take care of a good part of the day.
Jaye, Cedric was thinking he would really like to visit some of his DG friends in person.....after reading about the exploits of his Gnome friends he thinks Olympia a bit boring and he would like to travel a bit. Laura told him that if he would promise to visit her house for Halloween (she bought him a special costume) that she would set up a travel
thread for him to see if any of the sistahs would be interested in having him stop by for a short visit...he has been keeping a journal and would love to have new and interesting things to report.....he will discuss the details with Laura and keep you posted.
OH GOODIE!
Where did the rest of what I wrote go???????????????I want Cedric to visit Georgia too!
Everyone that gardens for butterflies, read the article on Rue. I don't think the writer mentioned it being a host plant for butterflies but it is!
Mornin' (or I guess it is good afternoon) Deborah! We will have to read that article. Cedric has never seen a real Butterfly....he and Bailey would love to visit Georgia!
