I just made a batch of Hot Fudge Brownie candles. Makes me want to bake some brownies lol. Next is Chocolate Raspberry Roll will post pix of them when they cool off.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

wait...what are the patio pals? I need a new project to add to my list ! LOL!

still fever, called for an appt today and they said I HAVE to talk with the surgeon first... left a messg for him this morning and he still hasnt called back :( so looks like I'm headed back to ER tonight, but gonna take DH with me...cause he'll stand up to them and refuse to pay the ER fee since they refused to see me during normal hours :oD I just dont have it in my to fight anyone or anything today :(

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

oh cindy! that is utterly unfair! and I just bought brownie mix for $.79 a box this weekend :o) maybe a batch of brownies before I visit the ER teehee!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I have to make peanut butter fudge and peanut butter brownies tomorrow, was post to put all that in a box to my brother that was in Iraq and I didnt do it so he is home now and he wants them. He was asked what do you want us to send you, he said can you ask my sis if she would send some brownies and fudge. I am making up for it now.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Yes, that was RUDE! My guess is one of two things: 1) he accepted you as 'one of the guys' and did what he would have done if you really were another man or, 2) he knew exactly what he was doing and how it would make you feel because he resents women in your position. Hoping it was the first!

Cindy, dang it! My DH doesn't see me in makeup much any more and I was looking cute with my fresh haircut and makeup - until I read your story. Now the mascara is running. And a big lump in my throat like BJ.

Jaye, I ordered some patterns from Homestead Hearth last week. They warned they may be slow getting them out due to the volume of fabric and other items ordered during their big sale. Cute stuff! I'm on their email list - along with a few others some 'poor little innocent bystander' linked me to.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Tia, I'll take some fudge hee hee. I leave the fudge making to my DBF he does alright. My mom always makes some at Christmas time, but hers is really SWEET !

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

AnjL, sorry you are feeling so bad. I missed your surgery - must have been while I was at the craft shows. Scary thing to be running a temp when recovering from surgery. Can you call the medical exchange and have the surgeon paged? Talk about RUDE! Can't believe he didn't call you back if he was told you were running a temp.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm weird, but I don't like smooth creamy fudge (the way it's supposed to be). I like it grainy and sugary. Same for cake frosting.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

you can send some of that PB fudge my way :oD teehee!

hey anyone need winter garden gloves? $2.70 ea? we are trying to get to a case on each size :o)
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/915248/

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

That's how my mom's is and she puts lot of walnuts and marshmallows it's almost like Rocky Road candy bars. I like smooth and creamy. I bet that is how Cathy's taste.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh yea, I sure do I must go there and order some. Thanks

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

oops cross posted! DH had a point tonight...one I didnt think about...um, he may be in surgeries! lol! so if no call, I'll just walk in tonight after their reg clinic closes. :( thats Kaisers MO if you know what I mean :( beg for an appointment, but make durn sure you mail those premiums in on time! grrrr!
Their ER teams are great tho, they are the one who 'cured' my 'heartburn' by finding the gallbladder issue lol! I just wasnt very kind to the nurses when I was in so much pain.... maybe if I take them brownies tonight? teehee!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Anjl I plan to order some gloves but I have to wait for at least the week or maybe 2 before the $$$$ if not no prob.

I like the creamy fudge and I do not make it like the "jar" says cook for 5 minutes. Horse poop. Mine comes up to a soft ball stage then cooks a bit longer. So creamy and smooth.

Now for the brownies to under cook a tad is the best. And the will have them dreaded Pecans that is not allowed to be spoken in the P&L forum.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

lol, Tia go ahead and order, ts gonna be a while before we actually place the order.

as for the brownies, one of my best memories is sis (peafowlanjl) used to babysit all us kids on fri night. she'd make a big ole pan of brownies then cut it into four HUGE equal slices (well, she claimed it was equal... I think hers was alway bigger!) and we would sit around and eat brownies and watch Salems Lot! I hated spooky shows, but if it meant I could eat brownies i'd sit thru it...no way was I gonna sit in my room all by myself when they were watching those vampire stories! lol!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

AnjL, thanks for the heads up on the co-op. How long will it be open? I'll probably order some as Christmas gifts but need a day or so to figure out what I need.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

That's a 'sweet' story about your sister and the brownies. Pun intended!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

OMG I remember Salems Lot me and my youngest brother would sit around and watch that in the late hours on the weekends. Scare the bejesus out of us. But we would always go back, no we didnt have brownies. So I get to spoil him with them now.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sob sob..that story grips my heart, Cindy. I hate the wars, but I salute our service people.
Indeed we do have ignorant rude people like that around here too Kim. Sorry that happened to you. Once Kel had a customer who want to use the rest room, and he told him there's no public restroom (don't want to start that again, after one upchuck all over the floor). Well, this fella strode to the back of the store and urinate against the wall. A customer caught him and Kel called the cops.
Debra, you're not weird. You just like texture in your food! I like peanut butter with extra crunch and don't give me smooth and creamy potato salad.. I want to bite into things!!!
Welcome AnjL. You're in a great place here. Tell us what's your vice, and we'll try to 'empower' you! Good luck at the ER.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Jaye, you are 100% correct! I like texture - prefer crunchy food or otherwise some kind of texture. Prefer my cookies a little brown around the edges. So they're a little burned and noone else wants them? More for me!

BJ, the Amish quilt site proved very educational. Now we know about stitches per inch. I thought their charges were reasonable (compared to some per quilt prices I've seen) until I saw the 90 cents per 36" length of quilting thread. Yikes! That one would add up fast! Did you notice the site says they typically use up to 10 quilters with stitch per inch varying between 6 and 10? I wonder if they assign specific tasks to specific quilters so the stitching is uniform to the eye in like areas? Does that make sense? Not sure I'd notice the difference between 6 and 10 per inch without really examining a quilt but, would definitely notice 3 stitches per inch! LOL!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

the glove co op will be open for quite some time...we need to buy 144 pair of each size in order to get the co-op price, so i'll leave it open til the numbers get up there :o) no hurry :)

on hold now with Docs AGAIN Grr... 10 minute wait! grrr!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

oh and as for crunchy peanut butter... you HAVE to try this before you knock it :oD

PB sandwich with sliced sweet purple onions :o) something about the cool crunch of the onion in with the pb.... I thought it would be gross... its GOOODDD! lol!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Of course it is good AnjL. That's how Indonesian Satay is served. You skewer the end of your grilled meat stick into an onion, and dip it in the crunchy peanut satay sauce. Even good with cucumber slices!!
Yep.. Debra.. three inches to an inch.. even a Martian can spot them!!! Lolol.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello everyone. Just wanted to let you know that we picked up karoosh from the Vet, and all is fine. He had no quills in his mouth. All were in the end of his nose, and all small ones, so no cutting was involved. He just pulled them out! OUCH! He is still under the influence of the meds, but OK. Ever seen a stoned dog??? LOL Very wobbly!
Good nite all, calling it an early night.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Debra... I'm going to ask about that when I go up there to inquire about local prices... I think there's more to that whole thing about 90 cents per 36" length of quilting thread... that just doesn't sound right. But, I intend to find out.

Peanut butter and crunchy onions... now, I do need to try that... I love peanut butter... so does Don... so, guess what I'm about to do? Wonder if sweet yellow onions would do? I don't have any purple onions.

Kim... just chalk it up to stupid people... inconsiderate, and rude people are everywhere... isn't it Jaye that posts all those hilarious "they walk among us" posts? Well, stupid men top the list. Regardless of his intention, it was just wrong.

Just a word about gloves... for all you lovely sistahs... protect your hands. Put some kind of padding in the palm of your gloves when you do things like shoveling, raking, or anything that can wear out the palm section of your hands. I had hand surgery early this year because I didn't know that. I damaged the tendons in the knuckle joints, and it caused my fingers to lock up. When ever I made a fist, I had to use the other hand to open my fingers.
So, now I have cut some squares of faux lambs wool like stuff that you find at Walmart in the fabric section. I use spray adhesive to fix them to the palm of my gloves... please... take care of your hands, dear sistahs.

Oh, I'm so glad the puppy is going to be alright.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

oh gee see I don't get online and rest after doing plants outside and I miss soo much and to try and read it all and remember right now LOL

what am I suppose to do when I don't' fall asleep to rest and my backside gets numb from laying in bed ...it helped being outside in the sun shine..helped things get "running"..don't feel soo congested now besides all the bulbs are in the ground as should be along wtih all but 3 pots from RU LOL...I took it slow and did a lil by lil and DH helped.

but just stopped in for a second to say HI *waves to everyone*
then back to bed so I can go to work tomorrow

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Waving back at ya Phyllis... now, stay in bed till morning... hear?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

BTW... extra crunchy peanut butter and yellow onions are good too... really really good.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Debra, I think I’m with you on the frosting.

Bur, I like my cookies soft.

Kim, that tic tac toe is great.

AnjL, I’ve heard PB and onion sandwiches are good, but just can’t bring myself to try it. I don’t know why I’ve eaten far grosser things.

Jaye, I love the peanut sauces, especially the one that’s like thin spicy peanut butter. You get it with your spring rolls here.

Linda, glad your dog is doing well.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

hahaha too late Bj I'm still here mom finally called and gave me more info on the "company" and property in Cherokee Village AR....not good they sent this so called company money and I looked them up online and what I found is not good so I gave her the BBB number for Nevada and the city atty number for the town to contact in regards to this place....*sigh*

Linda I am sitting here wondering what Harley would do if a porcupine came into our yard ...LOL...she spent most of her day out back under a tree waiting on a squirrel and barking at it LOL..not that it is funny mind you it isn't just the way Harley acts is though

mmm what about peanut butter and honey sandwich or banana???? LOL onion just doesn't seem to appeal to me LOL

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

My mom eats peanut butter, mayo and banana sandwhichs yukie. I like pb and granny smith apples yum yum

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I DID NOT like that Tic Tac Toe-I am at home by myself and am a gimongo chikcen to begin with:(

Kim-That is harrassment!!! I would've been pretty peeved and woulda ripped right into that man!!

Cindy-LOVED the story!! I haven't done any PP yet-been busy trying to get my swaps caught up and the gardens to bed-they are going to be my winter projects:) So we can send you containers for candles?? After I get to smell them I have some fave container I will be sending:)

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Phyllis-good luck with the BBB-they are USELESS!!! Trust me-if I had like an hour to rant about our move here, I would tell you-maybe another time....all the BBB did was take my statement, contact them, allow them to rebut, me to comment and a final rebuttal from them-THAT'S IT!! Same thing with the Federal mover whatever and the AMA-NOTHING!!

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Yes, I'm still reading my manual. I just not long ago put down the phone from talking with Judy and she's sending me some of her fabric! Yea! The part that confused me in the instructions is to oil the machine. That's all it said unless the instructions go into more detail the further I read. Judy did remind me to sew a few test materials to clean up any excess oil. That's a good tip cause know I wouldn't have done that. I'm in the middle of the book right now.

Kim, you know hon, you just need to get yourself prepared for some hard-nosed comebacks for jerks like that trucker. Like "hope it falls off and you have a nice day" and then just SMILE. What can he do, complain that you were rude? Ha! Let him try. That makes me so mad I could spit.

Cindy, that was such a touching email about the Captian's pre-thought of consideration for the family. Everyone showing their respect on the flight touched the family, you know it did.

Debra, now I know who to send my caramel icing to when I mess it up with too much stirring. I don't care for grainy caramel but I do like texture in most other foods. Jaye, I'm with you on substance when it comes to potatoe salad. Give me chunks any day in most foods.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I think Deb's 1st project will be a rag bag:) I got your $10 BJ;)

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Stacey, i will be sending you (and any one else who wants to smell) some samples of my candle scents. Yes, any containers that you want filled will be only half price. I spend alot on containers. I try to get them at the $ store or thrift stores and Wal-Mart. I go by the ounce, 12 oz. $12 etc.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Y'all, before I forget and get too busy into learning to sew, let me tell you that it says it's basic. Like I tiold BJ though, OK, I'd hate to see one that's complexed cause this machine has lots of bells and whisltes (that thing police blow). It even has a compartment to hold tools and supplies, comes with extra feets, screw driver, button hole maker, sews on buttons (I've never hear a machine could do that, how does it know where the holes on the buttons are? just a mazing to me. It has a darning plate so I can patch up my sons wholy shorts that he's had for fifteen years and wears at least once every week. There's extra bobbins and spools and two packs of needles.

Marion, yes please come! I'll call you soon, or you call me. Lets get together. I'm still working on the cross stitich bell pull and I havn't cut out my fabric for the victorian santa yet. I did get the newspaper taped together though.

Cindy, ya'll were talking about that vampire show. I don't remember that one you mentioned and I know I'm older than you but I do remember Dark Shadows. Just the music to start the show scared the living daylights out of me. That show caused a race from the school bus stop to get home to watch that show.

Waving to Staceypoo and everyone and Phyllis take care of that nasty cold.
