Marion, all of the new candle scents I got are heavenly. I made a batch of Harvest Spice and Everything Nice my house smells so good. The Rosemary is wonderdul.
Here is a picture of 4 that I made yesterday the two on the left are one time only containers, the other two I order all the time those are the most popular sizes.
If any of you have glass containers that would work well for candles and you don't want them send them my way, or if you have a favorite container and would like a candle I can make one for you for half the price.
LOL I left the wicks standing up oh well

Phyllis, I know how that is, I’m going back to bed as soon as I get the kids off.
Debra, I love lamb chops, but DH isn’t fond of them.
BJ, lentils are good in soups too, even if you’re not making lentil soup persay.
As for lentil soup, this recipe looks decent.
tsp vegetable oil
1 onion, diced
1 carrot sliced
4 cups vegetable broth
1 cup dry lentils
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp dried thyme
2 bay leaves
dash salt
1 tbsp lemon juice
1. In a large pot, sautee the onions and carrot in the vegetable oil for 3-5 minutes until onions turn clear.
2. Add the vegetable broth, lentils, pepper, thyme, bay leaves and salt.
3. Reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook until lentils are soft, about 45 minutes. Remove bay leaves before serving. Makes 4 servings.
Marion, that sucks, acid reflux is horrible. I haven’t had it in years, but it’s one of the most misrible times I’ve had.
Cindy, Rosemary candles sound wonderful.
Poor baby! Bet he doesn't go near a porcupine again!
Pretty candles, Cindy. Can almost smell them from here. lol!
Yes, Marion, I'm speaking to you. Thanks for sending the links. They are great. Keep that pinky working! Hope you are feeling better soon. Make sure it's actually acid reflux and not anything more serious. One of our Mid-South DG members, Kathy Ann, recently thought she was having acid reflux pains and ended up in the ER being told she was having a heart attack. She was in the hospital for several days for meds to disolve a blockage. Thank goodness she didn't need surgery. She wasn't going to go to the ER until she called another DGer who insisted she go as soon as her DH got back from the deer woods (she was at deer camp at the time). By the time he got back 30 mins later she was in a lot of pain and he took her to the ER.
Debra, I have a SIL that lives in Floral, AR have you heard of that town? Is it close to you? Also a friend that lives in Marrilton, AR.
i'm hatching again. join me

The black and white materials are lovely. I just HAVE to have a black and white quilt. For the October Block many choose those colors and I wish I had. While I like what I got, I found the black & whites were just spectacular.
Thanks for the Cockie Leekie Soup recipe. My grandfather was from Scotland and this was one of his favorites but I didn't have a recipe. I love soups because I can make them on the weekend and eat all week long. When I work I don't feel like making dinner just for me when I get home so I fast food it and that is very bad for me.
Barley is one of my favorites but just had a bad experience. I was making soup and I had broth, veggies, chicken all in the pot. Put in the barley and found that it had little black bugs in it. Had to throw out the whole pot of other good stuff. Next day I went to add nuts in a coffee cake and they, too, had little worms in them. You can bet I cleaned the kitchen and through out all the pastas, flour products, cereals; everything that you can get bugs in. Hope I got them all. Never had a problem this bad before. Even found them in my clear glass canister of flour!
Ewwww! You did have a bug situation, Janice! Wonder why they got in everything at once?
Cindy, Morrilton is a little over an hour away. That's where Petit Jean Mountain is and the Winrock Institute of Learning. Very pretty up there. Don't know where Floral is - need to Google it. Do you ever come to Arkansas? You'll have to let me know if you do!
Janice put bay leaves in your cupboards keeps ALL bugs away. But you have to remember to change leaves once in awhile.
Cindy, google maps didn't find a 'Floral' in Arkansas. Could it be something else?
My friend Pat wants me to come up she is the one in Marrilton. I remember you saying something about you being way out in the country is that right? So where do you do your shopping in Marrilton?
Let find zip code maybe that will help 72534
Good morning my sistahs..and juve :D
We got a kick out ot that poster BJ. First thing I did when I woke up this morning, before prayers, were to order something online!!! Lolol!!
Laura if you're still up, curry's our family's specialty. Paternal grandad is an Indian, maternal grandma's Indonesian and we have curry almost everyday. I have my own special curry blend sent to me from Singapore. Curry powder can never be cooked alone, always used with some other spices. By the way, the secret to cooking curry, is to make a paste with the powder, heat in hot oil, when aromatic, include onions, a small stick of cinnamon or anise seeds or even cardamoms.
Then add your meat. To marinade with curry, mix in yogurt. Then rub this mixture over your meat.
So sorry your GERT is acting up Marion. That Gert can be a bad boy!!
Janice, I've decided to do a Drunkard's Path with Kel's fabric floating on white.
Cindy, I bet your house smells wonderful everyday.
Debra, there's a book heading your way. Sent it by media mail, so you never know, how long it would take. Sometimes as fast as 5 days!!
Hi Niece, Happy B'day Kim!!
Wakee Deborah...........Audrey!!! Hi Sis!
Yep Jaye, I always have a candle burning plus with me making them lol, smells like a candle shop. I really enjoy making them. The soy wax is really good for hands. When I make the candles I always manage to spill some so I just wipe it up with my hands. The one thing about soy wax is it washes out with hot soapie water, not like paraffin. It's healthier to burn to 95% less soot. This one lady that orders from me a lot had to repaint her kitchen because of the soot. No more.
Cindy, I'm gonna look around for a nice candle vessel. Would love an orange and spice. My gf still hasn't use her candle. It's becoming like a shrine to her late DGD.
No Bailey's LK. Sorry, Audrey gulped the last one down, but will cheese cake do?
Thanks, Jaye! A surprise in the mail! Yippee! What is a drunkards path pattern?
Cindy, I don't know where to shop in Morrilton. The only shopping I've done is at the gift shop at Winrock. I live outside of Little Rock and do my shopping there. We are only 8 miles outside of the city limits, but it feels much further since we live on property with no close neighbors. If you visit your friend be sure to see the views from Petit Jean Mtn. What does your friend do in Morrilton? My mother used to have a friend named Pat and I think she lived in Morrilton. Her friend Bobbie does live there I know.
Pat and her hubbie are retired and just moved there about 3 years ago. She used to work at Merry Maids with me.
Debra, yeap I am sure. Was diagnosised many years ago and first flair up in I can't remember when. I did do a no-no and have Sonny's bar b que beans for dinner last night and they used will cause it. I felt certain that doing without all these years they wouldn't bother me now. NOPE!!!
O(h Cindy give me more details about containers. I just might have some things I could send to you. Sounds like another good way to clean out some more things!!
Oh Jaye, Drunkard's Path with the B and W. That will be so neat!!! I have an idea for doing a B&W Snail's trail with spots of red but haven't gotten as far as looking for fabric. Later maybe.
Oh my, Kathy is in the nursery again. More babies? You are going to be quite proficient with this chick birthing procedure before much longer.
Glad you are still speaking Debra. Would not want to make you angry with the sites. They just keep coming!
Debra: check this out www.quilterscache.com
Cindy, I found it. Floral is near Batesville, AR in the NE part of the state. It's about 2 1/2 hrs from me.
Ok sistah's I have been neglecting ya'll and so very sorry. Thanks for all the d-mails and the notes to me. I really do appreciate it.
To start off, some of my swaps have not been delivered as promised and it started out that the place I ordered some of them (locally) failed on me, then MY SO decided to put us in the poor house and not work. Then all is going well and DD and her BF decided to raise havoc at moms while she is on vacation( they were house sitting) and now I have snatched my DGS from her and taking care of him AGAIN.
My DD decided she wanted to break into my moms house while her BF was outside in the woods trying to commit suicide. Police finally found him and took him to the mental hospital and I had to ask daughter to leave. Tough love and I hated doing it. Just can not have "ICE" in my moms house or around my grandson.
Today got DH ready to leave for work in Georgia till mid December, that helps. Now my truck wont start. No problem there I have my moms truck until tomorrow then will get her little spare car to use until I can get truck fixed.
This is not to mention the chicken heck I am going thru either.
When it rains on me it POURS. But good thing my brother is back from Iraq, he got in last night, and My Mommy will be home tomorrow night. And my Grandson is happy.
I have truly missed you all, again thanks for the thoughts my way.
Send a thought my daughters way that she will want to get help, no one will help me if she does not want to get help. I just want to curl up and cry.
Marion, as far as containers I like to use anywhere from 4 oz size to 20 oz. size any shape, color etc. if you go to my candle website and look at the speciality containers you can get an idea of what I use. I'm going to be shutting that site down and rebuilding a new one so don't order anything from there but if you see something you like LMK

Oh Tina, I am so sorry for all you have been through. I am so happy to see you posting as I have missed you a great deal. Prayers going out for your daughter and your GS is where he should me. Hang in there--we are here for support.
Cindy, let me get this week behind me and when I return I will certainly go through my collection of "things' I have collected over the years. I will let you know about sizes and shapes and if interested will ship them to you. Okay?
Marion, sounds good to me TY
OMG, TINA.... You really have a load on your shoulders, dear sistah.
I'll be sure to keep you in my prayers... please keep in touch.
Tina, prayers coming your way and big hugs too!!!
Take care, and remember, we are here for you. Glad to hear you son is home safe and sound from Iraq!
God Bless
Linda Kay
thanks all. It was my brother in Iraq and he is not military.
(((((Tina)))))) Hang on Girlfriend!!
Sorry, for the mistake. But still glad to hear he is home. What does do, a contractor?
I am, the hard part now(and not knowing where my daughter is) is to tell mom all that has gone on. I refused to tell her on the phone while she is on vacation. This is her trip of a lifetime and I will be danged if it will be ruined for her. She will be mad at me for lying to her but I felt it was ok this time.
heck if I know, he works on vehicles and fork lifts. Getting a different job and going back in January.
YES... by all means... it's definitely ok to lie to her under the circumstances... and actually, only tell her the highlights, and just break it to her a little at a time... not all at once when she first gets home... save all the little details, and let her savor her vacation for a while.
Deborah... are you around? Are you home today?
How ya doing today??? Anything going on at your house today?
afternoon girls
(((((HUGS)))))Tina..prayers for you and family.
slept off and on till 11 been outside planting stuff from the Ru and bulbs I have thought the sun shine and maybe workin up a lil sweat might help work this out of me...has helped some LOL..drinking up a storm too lots of fluids ...pain in the fanny when you are bent over and your nose is running though ...hahahaha
ohh another baby ...how many left to go now?
will have to come back and find the recipes again to save them they sounded good.
ok time to go get the rest of the bulbs in then drink more and lay down again hope to really get this kicked more before tomorrow so I can go back to work.
Ummm.... Phyllis... I don't think doing yard work is on the list of things to do while trying to get well... GO TO BED... silly girl.
She said there are 6 total. we are all anxiously waiting...

LK
Tina, don't hoard up all your anxieties!! Speak it out here, don't want you to get ulcers!! We're here to support you, no judgements. We'll do the best we can, and if it helps, we'll even 'steal' a bottle of Audrey's Bailey's for you.
There's nothing you can do for your daughter except pray. She must have the desire to improve herself... no one else can do it for her.
Phyllis, you're supposed to be recuperating, NOT working! And that means REST. Puhleez don't be stubborn. Plants can wait, but there's only one Phyllis.
Debra, Drunkard's Path is a pattern with curves. Google it, and you'll get an idea, with so many variations, with a two piece template.
You are such a good sistah Marion. Debra needs to be well informed on all that's available to help her be a super quilter!
BTW... I found a group of Mennonites (or they may be Amish, not sure) close to me that might do quilting. I've never been interested in quilting because I do not want to do the actual quilting itself, and I would rather have it hand quilted rather than machine quilted. The only quilters I can find have all done machine quilting.
I'm going down to their store one day to ask if they quilt, and how much. If they do, I'm really sure there will be a quilt in my future.
Good luck BJ. Ask them how many stitches per inch. The more stitches the finer it will be.
Kelvin's aunt does EVERYTHING by hand. Her stitches are 10 to an inch. So much patience!!! She stopped doing it, on account of her poor eyesight. Unfortunately, her quilts will be left to her daughters that don't appreciate fine quilting. I advised her to sell her quilts. They can fetch as high as $1,000 for a full size quilt.
I tried that.... but I have not the patience of Job. So stitch-in-the-ditch or stippling!
